I am participating in several challenges for 2015, and instead of doing one update post per challenge, I am just including them all in one post right here.
2015 Challenges Update Post #2
The 2015 New Release Challenge is hosted by myself and Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! We both read ARCs, and there are also books just being released this year that we are incapable of resisting, so motivating ourselves and each other to read and review new releases seemed like a great idea to us. Because I read over 140 books released in 2014 last year, I am aiming for 75 for this year. Here are the books I’ve read so far for the 2015 New Release Challenge:
- Review: Golden Son – Pierce Brown
- Review: Never Never – Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher
- Review: Hard Knocks – Lori Foster
- Review: Flirting with Disaster – Victoria Dahl
- Review: Three, Two, One – J.A. Huss
- Review: Burned – Karen Marie Moning
- Review: Soulprint – Megan Miranda
- Review: Monday’s Lie – Jamie Mason
- Review: I Was Here – Gayle Forman
- Blogtour Review: The Hurricane – R.J. Prescott
- Review: What a Lady Requires – Ashlyn MacNamara
The 2015 Reading Assignment Challenge is hosted by Berls @ Fantasy Is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading. For this challenge, I made a list of 48 books I plan to read in 2015, and the rules are quite strict… Here are the books I have read towards the 2015 Reading Assignment Challenge so far this year, and I have not used any credits or other help I could have used:
- Review: Soul Walker – Robyn Jones
- DNF Review: Hex Hall – Rachel Hawkins
- Review: Embracing the Wolf – Felicity Heaton
- Review: Night’s Darkest Embrace – Jeaniene Frost
- Review: The Boys of Summer – C.J. Duggan
- Review: Double Play – Jill Shalvis
- Review: The Fallen Star – Jessica Sorensen
- Review: Clutch – J.A. Huss
The LGBT Challenge 2015 is hosted by Cayce @ Niji Feels. I love this challenge – both because I love having more diversity in my books, and because it has helped me discover some truly amazing stories thanks to the reviews other participants have posted. My aim is to read more than 10 books with LGBT characters or themes for 2015. Here is a list of the books I have read for the LGBT Challenge 2015 so far:
- Review: More than Friends – Aria Grace
- Review: Flirting with Disaster – Victoria Dahl
- Review: Three of Hearts – Kelly Jamieson
- Review: Dirty London – Kelley York
The 2015 Audiobook Challenge is hosted by The Book Nympho and Hot Listens. I only listened to a few audiobooks in 2014, and for 2015, I am aiming for 10-15 audiobooks, reaching the Stenographer level. Here is a list of the audiobooks I have listened to so far this year, and sadly, I haven’t made any progress at all in February:
The 2015 Bookish Resolutions Challenge is hosted by Laura @ Trips Down Imagination Road and Michelle @ Because Reading. This challenge is a little different, because we can choose what our personal goals are in order to do well. One of my resolutions is to buy books I have bought – not ARCs, and the reason for that is that I read so many ARCs last year I kind of left my own books hidden on my kindle. I also want to listen to more audiobooks, and do more discussion posts. I haven’t listened to more than one audiobook so far, but we’re also still in the first month. And I really want to write more reviews for the books I own – that is another thing I neglected in 2014. My final resolution is not bookish – I want to stop smoking! And for almost three weeks, I did stop smoking in January 🙁 until exams were closing in and I completely fell off the wagon. Hopefully, I’ll be able to re-motivate myself before the year is over.
Here is a list of my owned books read and reviewed so far this year:
- Review: Soul Walker – Robyn Jones
- Review: In Too Deep – Kathryn Shay
- Review: Night’s Darkest Embrace – Jeaniene Frost
- Review: The Boys of Summer – C.J. Duggan
- Review: Dirty London – Kelley York
- Review: I Was Here – Gayle Forman
- Review: Double Play – Jill Shalvis
- Review: The Fallen Star – Jessica Sorensen
- Review: Clutch – J.A. Huss
#COYER has been going strong since December 20th, and as usual, Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michele @ Because Reading are our hosts to help us clean out our e-readers. I have decided to aim for 35 books before March 6th, and I’m on track for that so far. The 2015 TBR Reading Challenge, hosted by Bookish, is another great challenge, where we read books we added to our physical or virtual shelves (owned books) before 2015. No new releases are allowed, and this is also a good thing for me, as I buy lots and lots of books every year, and sadly some of those books collect dust on my shelves rather than me reading them. Here’s a list of the books I’ve read for the 2015 TBR Reading Challenge so far this year:
- Review: Ruin – C.J. Scott
- Review: More than Friends – Aria Grace

What about you? Are you participating in a lot of challenges to keep your reads and your blogging experience fresh?
All in all, you’re doing very good – and you still have time before the end of 2015 ! Regarding the cigarette… Maybe we can motivate each other, I wanted to quit smoking, stalled because of problems at work, but plan to try again starting next week 😉
You’re doing a great job with your challenges! I got off to a really slow start this year, but hoping to catch up in March! Good luck to us both!
Looks like you’re doing well with your challenges!
Holy wow, my friend! You’re ‘kicking ass and taking names’ on your challenges!! *high five* Don’t worry about falling off the wagon with smoking…just climb back on. You’ll get there. And I’m so impressed with how many books you’ve read for all your challenges. I had to giggle because I have Three of Hearts in my B&N shopping cart and I couldn’t remember why…now, I know! 😉 I want to read Dirty London as well. But I’m not supposed to be buying books!! *ha* Keep up the good work! ***BIG HUGS!!!***
