Michelle and Berls have done it again! They have created another challenge for us to participate in, and of course, even if I don’t really like to plan ahead, I want to participate! The sense of community for these challenges is so strong, and I love checking up on other bloggers throughout the year. This challenge is a little different, though. We decide in advance what books to read, and the challenge lasts for the whole year 2015. There are more details, as well as all the rules over at Fantasy is More Fun and Because Reading is Better than Real Life.

The main gist of The Reading Assignment Challenge is that we choose 12, 24, 36 or 48 books in advance that we will read during 2015. We have to read the same amount of books each month (if you choose level 2, 24 books, you need to read and review two books from your list each month). Because I truly have too many books on my kindle and on my shelves that have been collecting dust for a while, I’m going to go with level 5 which means 48 books, or 4 books per month for 2015.

My Reading Assignment Challenge list:

And I really hope I don’t have to read this books in the same order as I mention them here… Because that would probably not be possible for me at all!

I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun, because Michelle and Berls are truly fantastic hosts, and the bloggers who participate in their challenges are awesome, too.

  1. I knew something great was coming! 😉 I missed the details being offline most of last week. But I will absolutely being doing this challenge. It will fit in nicely with the Read What You Own challenge! *haha* And COYER! Gosh, I may actually make a dent in the ~1400 (I have multiple ereaders!) I have on my shelves. Oh, I can I read some of those on my physical shelves as well, huh?!?

I’m happy you’re participating, Lexxie. It will be fun and I know you’ll accomplish your goal. 🙂

    • Yes, it will work towards COYER, too, I have to make sure that the four books I choose from this list for January also work for COYER, if not I won’t be able to read as much of those books as I wanted.
And yes, physical shelves work, too! I had so many to choose from it almost felt too bad to ‘only’ choose 48 ha!
These are all books I really look forward to reading, so hopefully, I’ll be able to reach my goal, Brandee 🙂 I look forward to seeing your list soon!

    • I look forward to seeing your list, then, Stormi! And I’m really happy you’re participating in this challenge as well 🙂

    • I really want to read all this books, too, Berls. They have been on my kindle or my shelf for quite a while, but then I got caught in the net of ARCs and other new releases and left these poor stories to collect dust instead of enjoying them.

    • I have no idea why I haven’t read The Host before now, I’ve owned the book since it was released. I’m glad to know it’s one of your all-time favorites, Angie!

    • I hope so, too, Lyn! I really loved the first in this series, and I really don’t know why it’s taken me so long to continue.

  2. I think I am going to join this challenge as well, but it’s goign to be difficult as I am a mood reader and the thought of choosing a book I am going to read in a year just seems daunting. I will have to think about it some more.

You have a great line up of books to read next year! I have read The Host and really enjoyed it. If only read a few of the books listed here, although I have heard of quite some. I hope it’s going to be a fun challenge and you get all these books read!

btw I like how you tweaked your blog design a bit, I like the two column design. Your tweaks gave me the motivations to make some tweaks to my own design as well. The Tweak Me theme is so fun to play around with!

    • I think the fact that the books are chosen for the year, and not in a particular order is going to help me, Lola. Especially because I only have to read four of those books per month, and I usually read five or six books every week. I think I’ll stil be able to be a mood-reader that way 🙂
I hope you’ll decide to sign up!

    • I think because I read five or six books every week, deciding on four in advance every week wasn’t too difficult for me, and all these books have been on my kindle for a very long time 🙂

    • I agree, Kathy! It was very difficult to narrow it down, but all of these books have been on my kindle for ages! And I really want to read them all – I just need to figure out how to fit them in and when 🙂
