Bought, Bagged and Wrapping it Up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Talk Supe and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #146 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #96

Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Without further ado, here’s what I bought, borrowed or bagged this past week:
Thank you, St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley!
Thank you, Clarion Books, William Morrow and Edelweiss!
Thank you, Ms. Huss!!
Thank you, Ms. Newbury!
And while I was in Spain, I received quite a bit of book-mail, that I only got to open now that I’m back. Two My Bookbox boxes, and one The Bookworm Box, as well as a very nice surprise from author Michelle Mankin, and my order of Tiffany Reisz’s signed The Bourbon Thief…
The books are as follows :
The Bourbon Thief, King, Dream Chaser, Ink & Lies, Strange Magic, Dream Magic, Mystic Summer, With Malice, Never Missing Never Found, and The Choices We Make.
The Sunday Post #96 – Wrapping it Up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
We are now back home in Geneva, and my allergies are acting up like crazy, which makes me really grumpy and tired! For the whole time I was in Spain, I was fine, and now, I’m sneezing hundreds of times every day 🙁 And while it’s nice to be home, I wouldn’t have minded staying another couple of weeks by the sea. Unfortunately, Mr. Lex had so much work to do, and I really didn’t want him to have to go home alone.

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Is book mail the best or what? Especially coming home to a bunch! I do want to read With Malice. Love that third pic of Freddy- one of my cats does that, gets all stretched out and comfortable.
Hope you have a nice week!
Book mail is the best! And coming home to such a collection was great – especially because I didn’t really want to come home just yet 😀

good choice of list to read. Freddy is so cute!
Thanks, Ailyn 🙂
Freddy’s nap photo is so cute! I could do with a few weeks holiday to chill out and recharge the batteries! Enjoy your books and have a good weekend.
Yeah, recharging the batteries by the sea was something I really needed, Chuckles. Thanks for stopping by!
Lots of great books and book mail!!! I loved Swear on This Life and The Choices We Make so I hope you do too. Sorry about the allergies!! They are the worst! Freddy is adorable!! Have a great week!
I loved Swear on This Life, too, it was so well done! Exactly my kind of love story 🙂 And if you enjoyed The Choices We Make, there’s a goo d chance I will, too.
Thanks for stopping by, Grace.
Oh nice so many books for you! You were in spain? I was too and Portugal too. happy reading!
Yes, I spent the last several weeks in Costa Brava 🙂 So nice! I hope your vacation was good, too, Melliane.
Allergies are definitely a pain. Ugh. Never really had any myself, but I can sympathize for sure! Lol! And aww! Freddy is so cute!!
Nice new reads! Lots of new pretties and lots of new to me ones too! I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!
My STS post will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower 🙂
Yeah, allergies are a pain, and I wish there was a way to get rid of mine!
Freddy is almost always cute 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Jessica.
Oh I love that book haul! Freddy is too freaking cute! Enjoy your week!!
Thanks, Leona, you, too!

I cannot wait to read Under Rose-Tainted Skies in November! I received a copy a few months ago and I love that cover! I hope you like Never Missing, Never Found since it’s a great book. Tonya sent me her copy of With Malice which I’ll receive soon and I can’t wait to read it. I want to get The Choices We Make!
Allergies suck so much!! I hope you feel better!
I know! It looks like a great story, and I really look forward to it, Gen! I hope we’ll both enjoy With Malice!
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading 🙂
Yuck on the allergies! I am the same. When I go to the Western US to visit family, I’m fine, but when I come home, its back to the sinus issues. 🙂
Oh neat! Love to see the huge stack of book mail. So much better than bills. Haha!
Cute Freddy pics!
I wish I didn’t have any allergies! The sinus issues make me grumpy, too 🙁 You’re absolutely right about book mail being much better than bills 😀
Thanks for stopping by, Sophia!
Oh, my allergies are back in full force, too, having returned to my Central Valley home after a blissful time near the beach.
Enjoy that fabulous book haul…and I love Freddy’s pink and purple leash.
I have Mystic Summer….and I’m eyeing With Malice. Enjoy!
I hope we’ll both get better when it comes to allergies, Laurel-Rain! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
What a pile of books to come home too! Sorry to hear about your allergies, hope they clear up.
That was a definite plus when coming home, Heather 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
OMG that is one heck of a great haul! Have fun with them and thanks for sharing those lovely Freddy pics – always a pleasure looking at them.
Have a great weekend & Happy reading
best wishes
Vi @ Gone With The Books
Yes, it is! And I can’t wait to start all of these goodies (well, some of them I’ve already read – I can’t help myself…)
Thanks for stopping by, Vi.
OOoh! I have been excited about With Malice!!! What a great haul…. My condolences for your allergies! Tis the season *sigh* Happy reading!
Heh, it’s been allergy season here since February… good thing I’m able to run away to Spain every now and then 🙂
I’m with Greg. Book mail is so great. I love it when I open the mailbox and there’s packages inside! Sorry about your allergies. They can really be a pain. Freddy is adorable as ever. Sure is grown up now:)
Book mail is the very best, I agree, Laura 🙂
I can’t believe how much Freddy has grown since he arrived in March… I’m very happy he’s house broken now, though – it’s very nice to not find any surprises when I get up in the morning 😉
Glad you are home safe and had a nice trip, but sorry about the allergies! Not fun. OH FREDDY! I just want to hug your dog every time I see photos.
Yay for fun book mail! That’s the best thing to come home to, right? haha
-Lauren
Thanks, Lauren 🙂 It’s nice to be home, even if I’d not been averse to staying another week in Spain 😀 I’m sure Freddy would appreciate the hugs, too 🙂 Book mail did make it worth coming home earlier than planned. I can’t wait to start reading all these goodies.
Her Every Fear caught my eye right away! I hope you enjou all your new books! Coming home to books in the mail is always a wonderful treat!
I am sorry to hear your allergies are giving you a hard time. It sounds like you had a nice time in Spain though. Freddy is adorable as usual. 🙂
Have a great week!
True, book mail makes everything better 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Freddy is SO adorable!! I love him! Also, sorry about your allergies. Mine are quite awful lately too, so I feel your pain. Spain sounds so amazing. I was only there once (Barcelona) for a very short period of time, and I would LOVE to go back and actually spend some time there! Quite an amazing book haul you came home to, also! I am so excited to read Under Rose Tainted Skies, and With Malice looks really good too! Hope you have a great week, and that your allergies calm the heck down too!
Barcelona is one of my favorite cities, Shannon, and our apartment is about 130 km (80 miles) north of Barcelona.
I was very lucky with my bookhaul that added up while I was away – it really made coming home worth it 😀
So much bookmail! That had to be like the greatest thing ever to return home to lol. Sorry about the allergies though :-/ And aww, Freddy. So cute trying to get into the room lol. Have a great week!
Definitely! There’s nothing wrong with a big haul of books just waiting for me when I arrive home from vacation 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Not so bad coming home when you have all that book mail waiting for you! And Freddy gets cuter all the time! And ohhh, pretty cover of Under Rose Tainted Skies, I like!
Hope your allergies settle down soon.
True, it makes coming home from the seaside easier when there’s a whole bunch of books waiting 🙂
I agree, Freddy does get cuter all the time 🙂 And he’s just as much fun to be with.
Thanks for stopping by, Trish.
Yay for awesome book mail!! Freddy trying to get into your oldest’s room is too cute. My dogs do that when I shut the door to the bathroom. They don’t seem to understand that going to the bathroom doesn’t require an audience!
So sorry about your allergies! I know how miserable that can be. Hopefully you adjust quickly!
Enjoy your awesome new books!
Yeah, Freddy was there in front of her room for quite a while, too 🙂 And it’s true, no way they want us to go somewhere inside the house without them 😀
Thanks for stopping by.
Nice book mail! I read It Ends with Us last weekend and it gutted me!
Oh, me, too! It was really tough, but so well done, right?
It’s always lovely to come home to a library of new books, unpacking them and sniffing at that new-paper smell, which I adore… Lovely pics of Freddie. So sorry about your allergies – I’m guessing severe hay fever – if it’s any consolation I suffered dreadfully all through my teens, twenties and early thirties – and from then on it steadily abated. Now in my late middle years – I get a slight eye irritation when it’s really bad – and when I was younger, it was bleeding fingers where my skin cracked, temperatures, nose bleeds, swollen eyes, sore throat and earache. I’ve met a number of other folks who have said the same, so hopefully you’ll find the same thing… Have a great week getting stuck into all those lovely new books!
Holy book haul, Batman!! What a nice surprise to come home to. Better than the allergies, for sure 🙁 I’m so sorry. I understand your frustration, totally!!
Scarlett Cole, huh? Have you read anything by her before? This book has been taunting me on NG for weeks now but I haven’t let myself read the synopsis. I’m trying so hard to be GOOD 🙂 Should I be bad?? 😉
Freddy needs his own Tumblr page!!! That boy is adorable. You could just put a Freddy pic of the day up on there. Kind of like the hedgehog page on there. I’m just sayin’….. 😀
Have a great week! Take your Zyrtec (or whatever BETTER stuff you have over there)!!!
I know, right? So many great-looking books *sighs*
Yes! Scarlett Cole is awesome, this Second Circle Tattoo series is really good – The Darkest Link is the 4th book, though, and I’ve read the first three. I think it could work as a stand-alone, however, there seems to be some connections in TDL with the prior books. Of course, I’ll always encourage you to be bad, Kristin; that’s what I do <3
LOL Tumblr or IG? I guess I should really think about it. And we have Zyrtec too - but it makes me fall asleep, so I have to wait until the evening. *hugs*

Always fun to come home to so much fun book mail! To bad the allergies are acting up. This week I have had some bad days with them. 🙁 I hate allergies. Great Freddie pics!
Have a great week!

What a great way to come home! BOOKMAIL!!! 🙂 I know how you feel when I got home yesterday I was exhausted and my nose is running again. My daughter seems like she got a vacation cold because the poor little girl sounds awful. I am not looking forward to my allergies starting up which usually starts at the end of August. I have two season allergies, one in spring and one in fall. In Florida, I felt fantastic, the weather is just nicer down there, would love to pack everyone up and move but I think I would miss the cold/snow. I think 🙂
Miss visiting you on sundays, so glad to be back and I still miss your face! Give Freddy a big hug for me, he is getting so big!
Have a great week, Lexxie! Happy Reading! oxoxoxoxoxox
I loved the picture of Freddy taking a nap — it was so cute! I hope your allergies clear up and have a nice week.
Nice haul! I am curious about Under Rose Tinted Skies, might have to see if it’s still on Edelweiss. I know how much you always enjoy Huss her books, so I hope this is another good one! And yay for bookmail!
I am sorry to hear your allergies are bothering you here while you were fine at Spain.
Love all the freddy pictures as always! especially the one were he is taking a nap. I am always amazed how animals can sleep in the weirdest positions. I hope you’ll have a great week!
Sorry about the allergies. That’s the worst! Not the best homecoming gift to receive. I can’t believe how much Freddy has grown. He’s such a big boy now! While missing Spain must be getting you down, at least you’re back home with Mr. Lex. I’m sure you’ll fall back into your groove soon.
Welcome home!!!! It must be nice to be home again. Freddy is growing up so quickly, and he’s just so beautiful. I love coming home to bookmail it’s the best with so many lovely new books. I hope you have a great week Lexxi settling in from your vacation.
Oh man! I know what it’s like to have those allergies! Not pleasant!
Welcome home! Book packages are nice to come home to. I would love to subscribe to these but I have no room for physical books. The books I have now are in plastic bins, so at least I can see the titles if I need them lol. Allergies are horrible and I hope you feel better. Have a great week!
Getting books in the mail is the greatest. Wish I could take a nap like Freddy! Sorry about the allergies. Feel better.
My dog (like Freddy) wished that he were taller and had opposable thumbs so that he could go anywhere he wanted (especially the rooms with the big beds). I’ve never actually opened or received a bookish box before, but they always look awesome. Enjoy all of your bookish goodies! 🙂

Wow! Nice haul, seriously! I want Strange Magic and With Malice. They both look really good. I hope you enjoy the all. Sorry to hear about your allergies, allergies suck. I usually have a terrible time with them but this year has not been so bad. I hope you feel better soon.
Awwe Freddy is so cute!!
Have a great week!
Thanks, Karen 🙂 I’m very happy with these books! And you should pick up Strange Magic and Dream Magic, I loved both. Very well written with amazing mythology, world building and character development 🙂

Looks like a great book haul. I’m still waiting for The Bourbon Thief to come into the library. I asked them to get the audio version. I hope your allergies clear up soon. Have a great week.
Oh my, I hope you’ll enjoy The Bourbon Thief, Melanie! I just love Tiffany Reisz. Her writing is amazing.
Welcome home! Sorry about your allergies though. It’s incredibly bad this year for me, normally I might sneeze like once a month…now if I miss an allergy pill I’ll be utterly miserable.
Freddy is super cute!
Thanks, Michelle 🙂 I think I’m going to have to see if I can get a shot for my allergies next year. This just won’t do!
I love dogs! I’m like a little kid whenever I see one. Freddy is super adorable and all the pictures of him are currently distracting me from all your bookish updates on the same post.
Oh thank you, Alicia 🙂 I love the little sausage to pieces, he’s cute and a lot of fun 🙂 Sorry about using him as a distraction from all the books!
I hope your allergies get straightened back out! I know I’m sneezing a ton right now from high pollen counts. I bet the trip was amazing!! Thanks so much for sharing the Freddy pics too. I really enjoy seeing them. Have a great week 😀
You got a ton of great books this week! And is it wrong that I scrolled through the post just to find Freddy pictures? 🙂 Hope this week has been going well for you. You can check out my Sunday Post in the link below!
Argh! Alergies! Just what you need after a good time away! And Freddie, he’s so cute! We have recently got a new dog, I’ll have to get a pic of her up soon!
WOW. Seems like Christmas in August for you. Hope you enjoy them all and fun time with Freddie.
