So yeah, I got quite a haul last week… plus, I ordered a huge bunch of books, too. CoHo had signed books up for sale at her website. And I kind of ordered ALL. HER. BOOKS. Yeah, All Coho’s books – signed – to be mailed to me… Even if I’m actually meeting her in the south of France at the end of September / beginning of October for a book festival there. But really! ALL her books. Signed!!!

The Sunday Post #98 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I met with the professor who is supervising my MA thesis this week, so I’ve been busy reading, researching and narrowing things down in order to make sure I have a very specific question to answer with my thesis. It’s really interesting, but man, I’m beat!  I have already come up with some angles I want to use when I start writing. Plus, I want to do some interviews that I can use as well… This weekend is busy with birthday parties, which is fun – but it also makes me tired.

  1. Nothing better than getting bookish stuff in the mail. Nice swag! I love how they have so much stuff now to support the authors and reward the readers/ bloggers. Very cool. I guess Pretty Baby is supposed to be good. I’ve seen good reviews for her books.

Have a great weekend and hoefully the parties go well and you don’t get too tired! 🙂

    • Yeah, bookish mail is the best… And I feel so spoiled and pampered these days, as I’ve received so many of these boxes quite close together.
I’m tired and slightly hung over this morning, but I’ll be OK – I had a great time last night!
      Enjoy your weekend, too, Greg.

    • I didn’t expect to get a copy in that one.. but as I’m going to the New Romance Festival in the South of France in September, I’ll try to get some more of her books signed personally to me, and then do a giveaway for other books here 🙂

  2. Ah poor Freddy! He’d have to wait a lot longer for me to catch up with him!!! As for the books, I like seeing other people with no restraint! If I read as fast as I bought, I’d be doing great! Have a nice weekend!

  3. Great stack! Your books remind me that I need to start reading It Ends With Us. And how fabulous that you are getting all of this author’s books, signed. Yay for you!

Your MA tasks remind me of that summer long ago when I was finishing up my thesis. Sometimes it seems like yesterday.

Enjoy…and great photos of Freddy, of course. Thanks for sharing.

  4. Now I’m SO tempted to head over to CoHo’s website. My husband would not be a happy camper if I bought all her books – he seems to think I have too many unread already. Pshaw!
I love the pic of your pup waiting for you – mine does that too!

    • Haha! It was just not possible for me to not indulge myself, Nicole! I have read all her books already, and I love them. So I think that justifies getting the paperbacks for my shelves – rather than just having the kindle versions 😀

  5. oh it looks like you had a great week here and you got some great books here. I recently read Wild Embrace and LOVED it, it was pretty fun to read. I just can’t get enough of this series and love these small stories and snippets she creates.

  6. Sounds like you’re doing really well with your thesis! That’s awesome – and good luck with the rest of it! And aww…Freddy! Too cute that he sat down waiting for you all. I saw a dog near my sister’s house today. A man was walking the dog and this dog was so slow, it was kind of adorable. He even just sat down at one point like “nope.”

  7. Hello stranger! I’m glad Freddy’s well. (And you all as well. I’ve missed a few weeks so just catching up!)

Hope the Master’s thesis continues to go well but it sounds as if you’re on the right track.

It Ends With Us was my first Colleen Hoover book and I very much enjoyed it. I’m not sure if it’s typical of her other books though so haven’t tried to get her other books.

PS. I had a 5th birthday party to attend this weekend. It wasn’t too bad and I just helped my friend with some setting up. And it was only 2hrs long!

    • Hey Deb 🙂 I hope I’ll keep up the good work on my MA thesis, too. I’m kind of over it in some ways… I just wish it was all already done, you know?
It Ends With Us has more mature (and a bit older) characters than those in her other books, but the writing itself is the same… Hoover is one of my favorite authors, and I keep loving her books very much.
Oh my… a 5th b-day party, eh? Those kids are so full of energy it always amazes me 🙂

  8. Wow, you did get quite the book haul this week! And you sound like you’ve been busy. But at least you’re getting this thesis thing worked on, and soon it’ll be done, and then you can celebrate! Just keep reminding yourself of the celebration part lol. And haha, too funny, those pictures of Freddy. Have a great week!

  9. What a wonderful bookish haul there – I’m trying to be VERY self controlled at present, given I’ve got a crazy-busy autumn ahead of me. Fingers crossed that a teaching position opens up soon – for what it’s worth, this is often the time when vacancies suddenly come up when someone who starts the new year finds they cannot continue. In the meantime, hope the MA thesis is suitably demanding and exciting without being too stressful – have a great week. 10. Oh you got lots of new books this week and they all look great! That’s awesome you go to order all of Coho her books signed. I have very few books signed, but it is great when you can get them signed.

Good luck with your thesis. I had to do a thesis for my bachelor ad master and can still remember how much effort went into it.

Love that picture were Freddy sits down to wait for his humans as they were slow, lol. Sorry I haven’t stopped by in a while! I hope you’ll have a great week!

    • I know – I just couldn’t resist… I should have just gotten one or two, but getting all at the same time was too tempting, even if I have read all of them.
I know my thesis is going to be a lot of work… already my head is spinning, and I am just starting out.

  11. Sounds like you’ve had a great week. Look at all your lovely new books. I keep saying I want to sign up for a box but haven’t done it yet. Birthday parties always wear me down. Thanks so much for sharing!!!! I hope you enjoy all your new books. I hope you have a great week and it’s less busy. Happy reading!!!!

  12. Hi Lexxie! You are soooo well organised. I need to come visit you more often. Maybe it will rub off on me…!! I am interested in all three your ARC’s received (lucky girl!) and Pretty Baby has been on my shelve for a while as welll. Hope you will have a great week!

  13. I have not read a COHO book yet *hides* I have one but just haven’t read it yet. It Ends with Us seems like something I might want to try since you all raved about it so much!

Give that puppy a big squeeze he is super cute waiting on you slow pokes!

You did get a lot of Books/Bookmail this week. Good for you! I love the book boxes…I get Uppercase Box and get so excited when it comes. Never tried the Bookworm but I would like to at least once.

I hope you have a wonderful week, Lexxie! Miss you lots and lots! oxox

  14. I can’t believe all the books you got last week, Lexxie! Oh my but you procured some good ones! And you ordered ALL of CoHo’s books?!? Which room has been allocated as the library? LOL I hope you’ll enjoy all your new goodies…maybe sitting out back while Freddy plays you can read? Oh, and I am anxious to hear all about your meeting with your prof.
    *BIG HUGS*

    • I know, right? And of course I had to order ALL. THE. BOOKS!! *sighs* I think I can add another shelf in the living room before I have to start throwing my children out of the house to have room for an actual library 😉
      *BIG HUGS*

  15. I really, really want a monthly book box. I need to figure out which one is the best so I can ask for one for my birthday or Xmas. Also, Can I see You Again by Allison Morgan was sooo good! I hope you enjoy it.

    • I love the philosophy behind The Bookworm Box, Lauren. The proceeds go to various charities, and the authors whose books are in the box donated them for free, signed and all 🙂
I’m looking forward to Can I See You Again 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

  16. RO

Wow! Brenda Novak AND Susan Mallery? Yes!!!! I’ve never had to do my own thesis, but I have typed them for other people, so I feel a little of your pain. I know it will be wonderful! Hope your day is fab!

  17. So many great books!! I have not bought any books myself lately (I can´t believe it ), but I´ve actually been to the library. I should absolutely visit the library more often.

  18. One of these days I will try Kubica! I’ve heard so many good things about her work. That second picture of your dog is hilarious! 😀

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier!

  19. Best of luck with your thesis Lexxie – I only did one for my Bachelor’s degree but it was exhausting…I can only imagine at the MA level. But you’re smart so you can do it 😀 Lots of good looking books and swag too! Lots of them are new to me but I hope you enjoy them all^^ xx
