Bought, Bagged and Wrapping it Up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Talk Supe and Caffeinated Reviewer.
STS #148 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #98
Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are bought, borrowed, won or ARCs you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Without further ado, here’s what I bought, borrowed or bagged this past week:
Thank you, William Morrow Paperbacks, Simon & Schuster, HarperCollins and Edelweiss!
And with my Harleqin reward points, I got :
I also got my MyBookBox for august:
Gemini by Sonya Mukherjee and Can I see You Again by Allison Morgan.
And my The Bookworm Box as well :
Love in Rewind by Tali Alexander and It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover -both signed. Plus, a very handy pen, a bottle opener, some swag and a CD 🙂
So yeah, I got quite a haul last week… plus, I ordered a huge bunch of books, too. CoHo had signed books up for sale at her website. And I kind of ordered ALL. HER. BOOKS. Yeah, All Coho’s books – signed – to be mailed to me… Even if I’m actually meeting her in the south of France at the end of September / beginning of October for a book festival there. But really! ALL her books. Signed!!!
The Sunday Post #98 – Wrapping it Up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
I met with the professor who is supervising my MA thesis this week, so I’ve been busy reading, researching and narrowing things down in order to make sure I have a very specific question to answer with my thesis. It’s really interesting, but man, I’m beat! I have already come up with some angles I want to use when I start writing. Plus, I want to do some interviews that I can use as well… This weekend is busy with birthday parties, which is fun – but it also makes me tired.
This Week’s Freddy in Action:
- [25 Aug] Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #79 – Swear on This Life

Did you get some good books last week? What have you been up to this past week? Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Nothing better than getting bookish stuff in the mail. Nice swag! I love how they have so much stuff now to support the authors and reward the readers/ bloggers. Very cool. I guess Pretty Baby is supposed to be good. I’ve seen good reviews for her books.
Have a great weekend and hoefully the parties go well and you don’t get too tired! 🙂
Yeah, bookish mail is the best… And I feel so spoiled and pampered these days, as I’ve received so many of these boxes quite close together.
I’m tired and slightly hung over this morning, but I’ll be OK – I had a great time last night!
Enjoy your weekend, too, Greg.
Twitter: ailynk
so which title is your favorite? they all look enticing to me ^^
Oh my! I can’t say I have a fave, Ailyn, but The Fall of Lisa Bellow sounds very different, and different is good 😉
Oh I’m jealous about the Hoover one now! happy reading my friend!
I didn’t expect to get a copy in that one.. but as I’m going to the New Romance Festival in the South of France in September, I’ll try to get some more of her books signed personally to me, and then do a giveaway for other books here 🙂
Oooh, Ends With Us! I keep wanting to buy that book but I haven’t even read her previous book November 9 so I’d feel bad for getting it. lol 😛
Oh my gosh, Stephanie!! You can definitely read It Ends With Us without reading November 9 first, though 🙂
Ah poor Freddy! He’d have to wait a lot longer for me to catch up with him!!! As for the books, I like seeing other people with no restraint! If I read as fast as I bought, I’d be doing great! Have a nice weekend!
Well, the leash wasn’t THAT long… but he was a bit impatient that morning 🙂
I can’t imagine reading as fast as I add books, though, Chuckles 🙂
Lots of great books!! Wow on all the CoHo books you ordered. Freddy is still as cute as ever!! Enjoy your new books and have a great week!
Yah, I went a little crazy, Grace 🙂
Twitter: talksupeblog
Busy is good, i hope it doesn’t get stressful for you though. Have a great weekend and may the coming week be as productive as this one.
Busy is definitely good! I just wish I had a teaching position lined up now… Hopefully, I’ll find something real soon 🙂
Wow, that is a huge book haul. I hope you enjoy them, and good luck with your thesis!
Thanks, Aj 🙂 Those books, though… I hope I’ll get to read them soon!
Great list of books you got! Here’s my Stacking the Shelves!
I agree, Ronyell 😀
Slow human! lol
Awesome books week
Karen @For What It’s Worth
Exactly, Karen!
Great stack! Your books remind me that I need to start reading It Ends With Us. And how fabulous that you are getting all of this author’s books, signed. Yay for you!
Your MA tasks remind me of that summer long ago when I was finishing up my thesis. Sometimes it seems like yesterday.
Enjoy…and great photos of Freddy, of course. Thanks for sharing.
Oh… be sure to have tissues for It Ends With Us, Laurel-Rain.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Now I’m SO tempted to head over to CoHo’s website. My husband would not be a happy camper if I bought all her books – he seems to think I have too many unread already. Pshaw!
I love the pic of your pup waiting for you – mine does that too!
Haha! It was just not possible for me to not indulge myself, Nicole! I have read all her books already, and I love them. So I think that justifies getting the paperbacks for my shelves – rather than just having the kindle versions 😀
oh it looks like you had a great week here and you got some great books here. I recently read Wild Embrace and LOVED it, it was pretty fun to read. I just can’t get enough of this series and love these small stories and snippets she creates.
That’s very good to know, Renee 🙂 I love everything Nalini Singh, and I’m so happy she’s writing the novellas in between to keep us happy 🙂
Sounds like you’re doing really well with your thesis! That’s awesome – and good luck with the rest of it! And aww…Freddy! Too cute that he sat down waiting for you all. I saw a dog near my sister’s house today. A man was walking the dog and this dog was so slow, it was kind of adorable. He even just sat down at one point like “nope.”
-Lauren
Yeah, well, I still have a long way to go. And I’m not really feeling like re-reading my research articles right now 😀
Freddy does that, too, sometimes, sitting down because he thinks the walk should be over 😀
Wow. Quite the haul this week, Lexxie! I hope the parties are fun. Perhaps they will tire out Freddy. LOL
He didn’t come with me to the party on Friday, but he’ll be with us today… it’s by the lake, so he can even go for a swim 😀
Hello stranger! I’m glad Freddy’s well. (And you all as well. I’ve missed a few weeks so just catching up!)
Hope the Master’s thesis continues to go well but it sounds as if you’re on the right track.
It Ends With Us was my first Colleen Hoover book and I very much enjoyed it. I’m not sure if it’s typical of her other books though so haven’t tried to get her other books.
PS. I had a 5th birthday party to attend this weekend. It wasn’t too bad and I just helped my friend with some setting up. And it was only 2hrs long!
Hey Deb 🙂 I hope I’ll keep up the good work on my MA thesis, too. I’m kind of over it in some ways… I just wish it was all already done, you know?
It Ends With Us has more mature (and a bit older) characters than those in her other books, but the writing itself is the same… Hoover is one of my favorite authors, and I keep loving her books very much.
Oh my… a 5th b-day party, eh? Those kids are so full of energy it always amazes me 🙂
Wow, you did get quite the book haul this week! And you sound like you’ve been busy. But at least you’re getting this thesis thing worked on, and soon it’ll be done, and then you can celebrate! Just keep reminding yourself of the celebration part lol. And haha, too funny, those pictures of Freddy. Have a great week!
Oh, that’s a good idea, Kristen. To remind myself of the celebration part 😀 I’ll do that – it should help keep me motivated!
Sounds like you are really into your thesis and feel strongly about it, so that should make it more interesting to work on. And I’m still drooling over your bookworm box, it’s fab! Your 3 arcs look great, especially the Carrie Mesrobian one as I’ve enjoyed her writing before. Have a good week Lexxie!
I definitely feel strongly about my thesis, and I hope I’ll be able to find the right articles to write something really, really good. 🙂
Inside looks like a good one. Sounds like you’ve had a busy week and I wish you luck and fun writing for your thesis.
Thanks, Sherry 🙂
Good luck with your MA thesis! I don’t miss those days at all!! So much work!
Great book haul-enjoy!
Freddy is still too cute!
I can’t wait for it to be over, Samantha! 🙂
What a wonderful bookish haul there – I’m trying to be VERY self controlled at present, given I’ve got a crazy-busy autumn ahead of me. Fingers crossed that a teaching position opens up soon – for what it’s worth, this is often the time when vacancies suddenly come up when someone who starts the new year finds they cannot continue. In the meantime, hope the MA thesis is suitably demanding and exciting without being too stressful – have a great week. My Sunday Post – https://sjhigbee.wordpress.com/2016/08/28/sunday-post-28th-august/
Ha! I have no self-control what so ever, SJ! Even if I have a busy autumn ahead, too 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Oh you got lots of new books this week and they all look great! That’s awesome you go to order all of Coho her books signed. I have very few books signed, but it is great when you can get them signed.
Good luck with your thesis. I had to do a thesis for my bachelor ad master and can still remember how much effort went into it.
Love that picture were Freddy sits down to wait for his humans as they were slow, lol. Sorry I haven’t stopped by in a while! I hope you’ll have a great week!
I know – I just couldn’t resist… I should have just gotten one or two, but getting all at the same time was too tempting, even if I have read all of them.
I know my thesis is going to be a lot of work… already my head is spinning, and I am just starting out.
Good luck with the thesis! And oh my goodness! I’ve missed Freddy pics so much! So.Adorable!
🙂 You know Freddy hangs out here every Sunday, right? 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
I know, but I’ve been insanely busy and haven’t been visiting like I used to. Hoping that tide has turned though and I’ll be getting my weekly Freddy fix again. 😀
Sounds like you’ve had a great week. Look at all your lovely new books. I keep saying I want to sign up for a box but haven’t done it yet. Birthday parties always wear me down. Thanks so much for sharing!!!! I hope you enjoy all your new books. I hope you have a great week and it’s less busy. Happy reading!!!!
I love the Bookworm Box so much, Mandy! I think the mix of getting amazing books (signed!) and knowing the proceeds go to charity is awesome.
Hi Lexxie! You are soooo well organised. I need to come visit you more often. Maybe it will rub off on me…!! I am interested in all three your ARC’s received (lucky girl!) and Pretty Baby has been on my shelve for a while as welll. Hope you will have a great week!
Thank you, Mareli 🙂 It helps me to stay organized, that way, things are getting done quicker. Have a great week yourself!
Those books look really interesting. Happy reading and have a great new week.
Best wishes
Vi @ Gone With The Books
Thanks, Vi 🙂

I have not read a COHO book yet *hides* I have one but just haven’t read it yet. It Ends with Us seems like something I might want to try since you all raved about it so much!
Give that puppy a big squeeze he is super cute waiting on you slow pokes!
You did get a lot of Books/Bookmail this week. Good for you! I love the book boxes…I get Uppercase Box and get so excited when it comes. Never tried the Bookworm but I would like to at least once.
I hope you have a wonderful week, Lexxie! Miss you lots and lots! oxox
I know how it is when it comes to having the time for our books, Michelle. I still love you 🙂
Have a great week yourself! *hugs*
Your bookish mail is awesome! It’s so exciting when we get a ton of mail. Hope you have a great week!
It really is exciting to get book mail 🙂 I feel like it’s Christmas each time!
Twitter: kimbacaffeinate
LOL..all her books signed..go you. The Day I Died looks interesting. Good luck with the writing! I hope this week is equally as exciting for you.
🙂 Thanks Kim!
So many people love Colleen Hoover, and I have still not read a single book by her! And yay for bookish mail! I ordered thirteen books on Amazon this week, so I’m expecting those to be here within the next week. Have a good week! 🙂
There are so many amazing authors out there, though, Anna. It would be impossible to actually read and enjoy all of them!
Twitter: Mlsimmons
Sounds like your thesis is coming along. I can see where it would be time consuming and wear you out. I’m sure you’ll do a great job. I hope you enjoy your new books.
I need to make sure I’ll have time for my leisure reading, too, Melanie 😉
Looks like a good haul! Enjoy, and I hope you had a good weekend.
Thanks, Nikki 🙂
I can’t take Freddy’s cuteness I just can’t.
🙂
Great haul! All your books are new to me but The Day I Died looks very interesting. Good luck with your thesis and have a great week!
Thanks, Whitney!
The book subscriptions are interesting. It makes me wonder if I should get one. You had a great haul this week!
I love the book subscription boxes, especially because I don’t know in advance what books I’ll get 🙂
*snort* C’mon, you gotta keep up with Freddy’s short legs! That’s funny about buy all of CoHo’s books, and yay for getting to see her next month.
I’ll have you know that I have short legs, too :p Really, though, he was kind of running ahead and then sat down like he had been waiting on us forever 😀
That is amazing getting all of CoHo’s books, I haven’t read many of her books but she seems like such an awesome lady!
I have read all her books, Heather, and I love her writing. You are right, she really does seem like an awesome lady to boot!
I can’t believe all the books you got last week, Lexxie! Oh my but you procured some good ones! And you ordered ALL of CoHo’s books?!? Which room has been allocated as the library? LOL I hope you’ll enjoy all your new goodies…maybe sitting out back while Freddy plays you can read? Oh, and I am anxious to hear all about your meeting with your prof.
*BIG HUGS*
I know, right? And of course I had to order ALL. THE. BOOKS!! *sighs* I think I can add another shelf in the living room before I have to start throwing my children out of the house to have room for an actual library 😉
*BIG HUGS*
I really, really want a monthly book box. I need to figure out which one is the best so I can ask for one for my birthday or Xmas. Also, Can I see You Again by Allison Morgan was sooo good! I hope you enjoy it.
I love the philosophy behind The Bookworm Box, Lauren. The proceeds go to various charities, and the authors whose books are in the box donated them for free, signed and all 🙂
I’m looking forward to Can I See You Again 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.
Wow! Brenda Novak AND Susan Mallery? Yes!!!! I’ve never had to do my own thesis, but I have typed them for other people, so I feel a little of your pain. I know it will be wonderful! Hope your day is fab!
Novak and Mallery both are awesome writers 🙂
I wish I could just type my thesis out… rather than actually come up with everything for it 😀 I think I’ll be OK, though, but it’s going to be consuming.
Twitter: lattenightsbook
Brenda Novak is great. I need to read more of her books. I didn’t know she had so many out there.
Freddy is so cute haha He’s like “I’ll take a break while they get here”
She does have a lot of books out, and I know I still have a lot of her backlisted ones I want to read.
Yeah, Freddy’s totally on a break there 🙂
I got Just a Girl too and I hope it’s as good as it sounds. Have a great week and enjoy the rest of your books, hope your thesis works gets easier 🙂
Nereyda│ Nick & Nereyda’s Infinite Booklist
I hope so, too, Nereyda!
So many great books!! I have not bought any books myself lately (I can´t believe it ), but I´ve actually been to the library. I should absolutely visit the library more often.
One of these days I will try Kubica! I’ve heard so many good things about her work. That second picture of your dog is hilarious! 😀
Thanks for visiting my blog earlier!
Best of luck with your thesis Lexxie – I only did one for my Bachelor’s degree but it was exhausting…I can only imagine at the MA level. But you’re smart so you can do it 😀 Lots of good looking books and swag too! Lots of them are new to me but I hope you enjoy them all^^ xx
