Feature and Follow #33
YAY it’s Friday!
Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. I prefer being followed via Linky or Google+; or you can like my facebook page. If you prefer e-mail or RSS, that’s good as well. I have been able to add GFC back on my blog, even if I’m still on WordPress YAY!
As you can imagine, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers better, as well as a way to find new blogs, and be seen by more people yourself. Now on to this week’s question:
We always talk about books that WE want. Let’s turn it on its head. What books have you given other people lately?
hmm I haven’t really given any books to anyone in a while, the last book I gave to someone was when I got the Hunger Games trilogy for my daughter. At first, I was trying to get her to read it before the movie came out, but now, she’s seen the Hunger Games movie several times, and I don’t think she’s started reading yet
However my youngest son, who’s dyslexic has enjoyed the first two Harry Potter books as audiobooks – and he even read along with the books in his hands! I have ordered the next two as well, hopefully, they’ll arrive very soon. He’s really excited about it.
What about you? Have you given away a yummy book lately? Did they enjoy the book more than my daughter did?
Thanks for stopping by and joining in the Feature and Follow fun! Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.

It’s so hard to get people to read a book before a movie! I hope she gets around to reading the books.

Jessica@a GREAT read
Every Xmas me and my friend exchange gifts of books! I can easily buy for her since she just got into the paranormal genre a few years ago and has lots of catching up to do since I’ve read them since I was 13!

That’s awesome! I wish I had more ‘real life’ friends who loved reading! Most of my reading friends are people I’ve met on the internet! And we do exchange recommendations and books
Thanks for stopping by Jessica. Have a wonderful weekend yourself!
Livia @ Butterfly-o-Meter Books
Haha, actually after seeing a movie about anything I’m highly unlikely to read the book, too. But I might get interested in the series if it’s based one book of however many. So don’t lose hope, lol!
Aww, that’s a very cool idea with the audiobook/book combo.

Thanks for stopping by my place, hope you’ll have a fab weekend!

I’m usually the opposite, I probably read and enjoyed the book, and so I’m afraid to watch the movie
Have a fantastic Friday Livia, thanks for coming over.

I prefer the book to the film which is so short

Yup, I’ve read all of the Hunger Games, and the first time I saw the movie, I was so hung up on how the characters looked in my head
Peeta is finally starting to grow on me, though – and I loved both Katniss and Lenny… uhm… I mean Cinna, of course
Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve never read Hunger Games and Game of Thrones! Not really sure if I want to…
I can relate to the movie tie-in disappointment :/

I haven’t read Games of Thrones either, but I think that series and the Hunger Games series are very different.
Have a fantastic Friday;) thanks for stopping by.

That’s a shame about The Hunger Games! I loved them, but then I’ve always been a reader. Happy Friday!

It always makes me sad when people watch a movie and love it, but don’t ever want to read the book. I always want more! Hopefully, she’ll read the books!
Harry Potter is another awesome choice.

Traci @ Mad Hatter Reads
I always have to read the book before seeing the movie. My younger brother was never much of a reader due to his dyslexia but I tried to get him interested by giving him the HP series when the first 4 books already been out and then with each new release I would get 2 one for him & one for me. He really tried, but he just couldn’t finish the series
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

That’s how it is for my son as well, very difficult to read, but he loves being able to follow along the audio book! It’s so different from watching a movie, and he felt quite accomplished when he had finished the first book!

As a mom, I don’t know how I’ll handle that day when my daughter will leave a book by the nightstand. She’s six now, but I understand that eventually homework, and friends, and life begins to get in the way of a good book, hee hee.

LOL, I know what you mean. Of course my daughter is older, and she is quite busy. Mostly, she’ll read during her vacation.
I’m such a compulsive reader myself, though, so it’s a little sad sometimes that we can’t share that. I have high hopes for my youngest, though
Thanks for stopping by, it’s nice to ‘meet’ you!

I love that trilogy! I am having trouble getting my sister to read Vampire Academy. The movie is in the works so I will attempt to strap her down and read it before the movie comes out

I’ve been wanting to read The Hunger Games, but since the book came out, I completely forgot to read them and instead watched the movie with my parents. It’s hard to read a book when a movie comes out. I tend to watch the movies first, and they end up being different from the books :/
I hope you can check out my blog.

Sometimes, reading book number 1 first is not so bad – you’ll have the actors in your head when you read the book. It’s harder when you have very vivid images of the characters in your head, then the actors change everything!
Have a wonderful weekend!

It must be frustrating that your daughter is not a reader, particularly if you read a ton. But I say keep trying, and that is awesome of your son to read along to the Harry Potter books.
