Feature and Follow #53 – After Reading a Book…

YAY it’s Friday! Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your Feature and follow post. I prefer being followed via e-mail, RSS / Bloglovin’ or Google+; or you can like my facebook page, or even follow me on Twitter.

What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

I close the book, write my review while opening the book back up so I can get a few cool quotes to add to my review, and then I close it again and start reading a new book 😛 Seriously, though, most of my books are kindle books, so they will just be pushed backwards on my kindle as I keep reading. For my actual paper books, I do giveaways, because I only keep a few of my very favorite books on my shelves due to lack in space. I wish my shelves could look like this, though :

Bookshelves - (un)Conventional Bookviews.comThis picture is one I took in Paris earlier this week, it’s from the Abbey Bookstore, and I’ve shared more photos like this one in my post A Few Days in Paris if you’re interested.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.

  1. You’re so clever, Lexxie! 🙂 I didn’t think to say I write a review or that I typically archive my ebooks once I’m done with them. But I did share a pic of one wall in my library. LOL

Happy Friday, Lexxie! I hope it’s fantastic!
    *hugs*

    • I just really felt like being cheeky, Brandee. I’m checking out that wall in your library.

Have a great Friday yourself, Brandee. See you tomorrow.

  3. Jessica@a GREAT read

Oh yes, I would love more room for shelves!! Luckily I have room for my posters over other pieces of furniture cause I love my posters!! Books I love go on the shelves somewhere. And ones that don’t make the cut go in a donate pile for the library or other book related drive!

    Here’s my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!

    • Unfortunately that’s not my place… I slowly but surely give away all books that are not my absolute favorites.

      Thanks for stopping by Naomi!

  5. I’m the same way. I keep my very favorite books, or those I think I may read again in the future, but give many others away. Unfortunately, my shelves are quite full because I have so many print books I haven’t read. I really need to get on that. 😀 Happy Friday, Lexxie!

    • Maybe it’s a good thing for me (and my family) that I don’t live in the UK or the US – since English books are not as easy to get here, I tend to buy mostly e-books now.

Thanks for stopping by Liesel, and happy Friday to you, too!

  6. I have my main shelves in one room that look much like that and a couple of others scattered in the living room. Then I’ve got piles, but they are corralled in either Victoria’s Secret bags or Thirty-One All-in-One organizers.

Sometimes I go through to see what I could donate, but my mom gave me a library seal that I’ve used to mark my books, some on the cover. Not easy to cut that off. 🙁

    • Is it more adult books in the Victoria’s Secrets bags, Xyra? 😛

I had put a seal with my name on my books as well, but before donating those, I cut out the first page (the blank one that’s usually before the title page) so that I wouldn’t have people calling me or showing up at my house.

I love beautiful and full bookshelves, but at the same time I’m happy we have room for other things now, too 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Xyra! Have a fantastic Friday!

      • Hahaha! Adult books in VS bags.
That is an interesting idea, but no, whatever fits to keep things tidy.

The bags are stacked like stairs by the bed so the kitties have easy access. That way the books are more protected from slipping claws.

        • That’s a good idea. And I just couldn’t help myself but tease a little because of the VS bags 🙂

You should share a pic of your VS/book stairs for the kitties!

    • YAY I’m not alone in my way of stocking my books, and we share e-books as well. I will get a hard-copy of a book only if it’s one I really, really need to be able to see on my shelf 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Chelsea! Have a fantastic Friday 🙂

  7. LOL! I have every intention of writing my reviews as soon as I finish, but it usually doesn’t happen that way. I’m usually in bed when I finish and am either too sleepy after a late night rush to the finish or finished way to quickly and need to start the next one! Using my Nook really helps 🙂 Have a great weekend!

    • E-books are certainly saving a lot of space 🙂 And I wish that picture was from somewhere in my house – alas it’s not.

      Thanks for stopping by, Berls!

    • Archiving stuff is great. At least I was able to visit that book store to smell, touch and see all the books. I took several photos of it 😀

    • Yeah, both space and paper and shipping costs are things saved thank to e-books.

thanks for stopping by Jennifer 🙂

    • It’s so much fun to see other booklovers feel the same way I do about that book shop pic.

Thanks for stopping by Anna. Have a wonderful weekend.

    • Thanks Xyra, that’s a great picture! And it’s a good idea for the kitties, too 🙂

      Have a great weekend.

    • Thanks for stopping by Whit 🙂 I agree in a way that having books on the kindle is a little sad, at the same time, though, it saves so much space in the house.
