Feature & Follow #17

Posted 19 October, 2012 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Feature and Follow / 0 Comments

YAY it’s Friday!

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. This week’s featured bloggers are: Kinx’s Book Nook and Shelf Addiction. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which we do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you want to, you can choose an email subscription, linky, networked blog or bloglovin. If you followed me by GFC on my blogspot blog, I’d love it if you can find another way to follow me now.

As you can imagine, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers better, as well as a way to find new blogs, and be seen by more people yourself.

Now, on to this week’s question

Q: When you step out of your usual genre, what do you read? Best book in that genre?

Recently, I’ve read a few Christian romance books, and while they are not exactly my favorite genre, I have read  some that were really quite good! The best book in that genre for me is A Mother’s Promise, which is to be released on November 30th. It was sweet, and a lot of things made sense, and the romance was well done.

What about you? What other than usual genre do you like to read?

Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

    • Thanks for stopping by Alison 🙂 I don’t ind the genre if it isn’t preachy either, and some of the stories are really compelling.

  1. I have never read a Christian romance book before. Thanks for stopping by my blog, I’m following you back via Network Blogs. Have a great weekend! 🙂

    • Actually, the first one I read was kind of by accident, I got it from Netgalley, and had no idea what the book was about. I was a little surprised to like it so much 🙂
Thanks for the comment and the follow!

  2. I don’t mind books with religion in them, but I don’t like the Christian fiction genre, personally. But hey, it takes all kinds of books to make a library. Thanks for the follow, new linky follower in return.

    • Thanks for the comment and the follow Cia 🙂 I thought I wouldn’t like Christian romance, but I do – when it’s not preachy, that is 🙂

    • That’s exactly it! I don’t like to feel like I’m being preached to when I’m reading, and I think my pleasant surprise with the book I mentioned was that it really didn’t preach at all.
      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  3. Oh wow, I’ve read some christian influenced fantasy before, but I’ve never read Christian romance…I don’t mind the christian undertones as long as it doesn’t come off preachy or condescending. Thanks for sharing, for stopping by my FFF and the follow. Old follower via NB!
