Two strangers on a train - where some good wine is served, both have been avoiding dating for a while each for their own reasons. They hit it off, but things are a little complicated - and so hot and humorous the pages flew by.

Back on Track is a short novella about Allie and Matt. They have both been avoiding dating for a while, each for their own reasons. When their friends persuade them to go on a wine-tasting train ride, they follow along. Neither is very happy about it at first, but when Allie notices Matt, she thinks he’s pretty hot. Her friend tells her to go for it – and she has the corkiest pick-up line I’ve ever seen. But it worked!

Matt is a famous baseball player who’s been out of commission after an injury. He’s used to people wanting to hang out with him – but he never knows if it’s because he’s a nice guy or because they want to say they know Matt the baseball star. Allie has her own marketing company, and she would love to get Matt to be a part of her calendar campaign. However, she really doesn’t want to mix work with pleasure on this train-ride.

The humor I love so much in Donna Cummings’ books is very present in Back on Track as well. Allie’s pickup-line at the beginning is a prime example, as she goes over to Matt and tells him that she’ll tell him three lies about herself but one of the things she says might be true. This peaks Matt’s interest, especially as he tells her who he is – and she pretends not to believe him, stating she’s dated the real Matt.

The chemistry between Matt and Allie is obvious from the start, and when fans chase after Matt, they first hide in an empty restaurant-wagon, then again in the toilet – where things get very steamy… As the fans catch up to them, Allie throws them off by saying she thinks it’s so funny how people always mistake her boyfriend for the baseball star.
