#WhatADick

Vaughn Asher. I’ve stalked him relentlessly. I shaped and formed my lust into the perfect dirty hashtag…day after day… weekend after weekend. He was my prince. My fairy tale. My fantasy.

I gave him the best years of my online life and what did he do for me?

Ruined my social media experience one tweet at a time. That’s what.

MovieStar @VaughnAsher
@FilthyBlueBird #Fantastic #BackToNatureFucking
#MissingSomething #You

And now #TheDickWhoIsVaughnAsher thinks he can weasel his way back into this filthy blue bird’s Twitter account? He’s wrong.

His public fantasy is about to collide… ah, fuck it. He’s hot as hell, bitches. I need more than a free sample. This time I want it all and I’ll do whatever it takes to get it.

In Like, the readers get to know both Grace and Vaughn a little better… but those little crumbs just made me want much, much more!

My Like review:

Like shows just how far Vaughn is willing to go in order to make sure Grace will play along with him. From filling up her Starbucks card with more money than she earns in a year, to chatting with her on Twitter, and phoning her for some dirty talk and phone sex… It also gave me a new appreciation for both Vaughn and Grace. And while I still don’t exactly like Vaughn yet, I certainly am starting to see the appeal he has had for Grace these past years.

Written in one chapter from Grace’s point of view, then the next from Vaughn’s I really got to know both of them a lot better. The mystery of Grace is more present now, I want to know more about her past, just like Vaughn does. And I can certainly understand why he feels like he has to dig into her hidden past so he can make sure she will not just play with him, then sell the story to the press.

Vaughn continues to push Grace’s boundaries in Like, and sometimes, he really made me feel both uncomfortable and really angry! He really continued to insist, even when Grace showed that she wasn’t sure she really wanted him to. He was never abusive, though, and Grace was still able to actually put her foot down when she felt that it was really necessary.  And to see how protective Vaughn is about the people he really cares about made me so happy! I hope it means there are many good things to come as Social Media continues.

As always, I find J.A. Huss to be a masterful story-teller. She managed to show me just enough new things about both her main characters to keep me not only wanting, but needing more. And even if I haven’t ever experienced the things Grace and Vaughn experience, I was still able to connect with both of them in a twisted kind of way.

Some of my favorite Like quotes:

And that’s worse, isn’t it? Because I’m lying to myself. The least I can do is be honest. So I swallow down that fear and take another deep breath to steady myself.

Shit. I giggle a little at this. OK, maybe I’m not so good with phone sex, but I’m the filthy Twitter goddess.

My mind wanders all day. Grace, Grace, Grace. That’s all I think about as I listen to my agent go on about upcoming projects, promotions, and charity functions.

    • This series is mouth-watering, too, Iza! You are going to have so much fun reading all the books in one go – I’m almost a little jealous, actually 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. Stay strong!!

  1. I liked the “other” sides we saw of Grace and Vaughn in Like, Lexxie. I have to admit to liking Vaughn from the beginning (what does that say about me and my book boyfriends??) but Like really sealed the deal. And it just gets better. I think I can guarantee you’ll like Vaughn after reading Block. 😉 JA just has a way to drawing you into her twisty stories and making you love the the characters. Lovely review, as always.

I hope you’re having a wonderful Wednesday! **BIG HUGS**

    • I have already read the first four books, Brandee, and I agree! I love everything about both Grace and Vaughn 😀 I just finished my homework for tomorrow, so I’m going to stalk you on FB now.

    • I don’t always love the characters in the first book in a series, but Huss just manages to do something with those characters to make me love them – and their story – along the way anyway! If you haven’t read any of her books yet, I would suggest you start with Rook and Ronin.
      Thanks for stopping by, Lily.
