Kit Devigny could have loved rock guitarist Noah St. John. Their friendship burned with the promise of intense passion and searing tenderness…until the night Noah deliberately shattered her heart.

Noah knows he destroyed something precious the night he chose to betray Kit, but he’d rather she hate him than learn his darkest secret. All he has left is his music. It’s his saving grace, but it doesn’t silence the voices that keep him up at night. Chasing oblivion through endless one-night-stands, he earns a few hours’ sleep and his bad boy reputation.

When a media error sees Noah and Kit dubbed the new “it” couple, Kit discovers her chance at the role of a lifetime hinges on riding the media wave. Wanting—needing—to give Kit this, even if he can’t give her everything, Noah agrees to play the adoring boyfriend. Only the illusion is suddenly too real, too painful, too beautiful…and it may be too late for the redemption of Noah St. John.

Oh wow! Rock Redemption took the Rock Kiss series to the next level! All my emotions were engaged, and I’m still a little teary-eyed, both happy and sad tears – all at the same time.

My Rock Redemption review:

Rock Redemption took me on a very emotional ride, both because of the horrific darkness in Noah’s past, and because of the way Kit was stalked, scared, and needed someone to lean on. I loved getting to know the two main characters better, and I also enjoyed how Singh was able to even share how the paparazzi could make things very difficult for the famous friends – following them around, or using tele-lenses when not being able to come close enough to snap a normal picture of them.

In the prior Rock Kiss stories, Noah had seemed like the only thing that mattered to him was to play his music and score some girls, however, there is a much deeper and darker side to him. It was impossible not to feel bad for what he went through in his childhood, especially the way his parents dealt with things and shipped him off to a boarding school. And Kit had everything going for her, even after she had to get over her failed romance with Noah several months ago. However, when they rekindled their friendship, they were both doing their best to keep their distance, even with their incredible chemistry.

Their quiet conversations of sharing their pasts, their hopes and fears would have hooked me, but I was already hooked on the story before that happened. Rock Redemption was as much about forgiving themselves as it was about redeeming themselves, though. While there was less music in this installment than some of the prior ones, it was, of course still a present theme.  And I have to say that my heart broke for both Noah and Kit, even if they were both strong enough to deal with their past and current lives, as well as being there for each other.

Written in third person point of view, past tense, I got to know both main characters’ inner thoughts, and I was enthralled as well as enchanted living beside them during their story. If you haven’t picked up this contemporary romance series by Singh yet, please tell me what you’re waiting for!

Some of my favorite Rock Redemption quotes:

There was always music around Noah. Even when he was reading a book, he’d told her he had music on in the background. “It’s like another heartbeat,” he’d said to her once. “I miss it when it’s not there, even though I might not consciously notice it when it’s present.”

Kit walked into her house at seven that night to the smell of something delicious. Even dog tired as was, it made her mouth water.

He didn’t want their relationship tainted by sex – if they even had any kind of relationship.

  1. I can tell from your review how much this story affected you, Lexxie. It does seem to have been a more emotionally gripping story than the previous installment. You know I’m going to be starting this series…soon…in audio. And I’m looking forward to it. I’ll just need to remember to have tissues handy for this one.
Happy Friday, my dear! **BIG HUGS**
