Cute, funny and filled with lots of snow but still some hotness, Saving the Sheriff is a great Christmas novella.
My Saving the Sheriff review:
Frankie is saved by a big, bad sheriff when her rig is stuck in a snowdrift, but Red isn’t sure whether he can trust her or not – after all she is trespassing. As she has no good explanation for why she’s at Three River Ranch on Christmas Eve, dressed like an elf to boot, it’s hard to not understand where Red is coming from. Saving the Sheriff is both fun and romantic, and it’s a quick read as well. Other characters from the Three River Ranch universe show up for short moments, which made the feel of what was happening between Frankie and Red more real.
Red has sworn off women after being badly burned in the past, but his defenses just do not work against Frankie, her honest ways and her hot body. The fact that she is able to enjoy life even if she’s been hurt, too makes him realize that he might just have to try that love thing once more. Saving the Sheriff shows how quickly people can fall for each other when the circumstances make it possible. No phones, no internet, candle-light and fire-place heating makes for a pretty romantic atmosphere with nothing better to do than talk and flirt.
If you are looking for a short but sweet romance, Saving the Sheriff is just the thing you should add to your shelves for a Christmas read that has complex characters in just over a hundred pages.
