Sidekick Showcase - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Sidekick Showcase, previously known as Sidekick Saturday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Jaclyn at JC’s Book Haven. There are many secondary characters that are as great as the primaries. In some cases, the sidekicks actually steal the show and you like them better than the heroine or hero. Maybe they didn’t have enough page time for how great they were. Anyone can play along! I will post my Sidekicks on Saturday, and so will Jaclyn, then whichever day during the week that you would like to post yours, you can put your link in on Jaclyn’s page. Just do the following:

• Choose a sidekick *or someone other than the hero or heroine* that you would like to put in the spotlight that fits in the week’s topic
• Share a picture (if you can) and information about the character
• Give the title and author of a book the character can be found in
• Please don’t include too many spoilers when describing why the character is such a great sidekick
• The day of your post, put your link in below and grab the code for your post so you can see the others that post their’s throughout the week as well

Sidekick Showcase #33 – Compromise

For the month of January, we should choose characters that we love, but have that one thing that they should definitely set a New Years Resolution for…that one flaw that they need to work on that maybe is even resolved in the series as the character grows. Sidekicks in need of Resolutions…

A sidekick who should have at least one new-years resolution isn’t hard to find. What is a lot harder is to find one who wouldn’t lose all of his or her fun and quirkiness. For my first character in need of a new-years resolution, I’m going with Alice. She needs to stop meddling with Bella and her clothes a little bit… Even if she does it to be nice, it’s a little bit too much at times, and Bella isn’t always happy about it. Alice is an awesome character though, and one of my favorite in the Twilight saga, she’s perky, energetic and a little bit crazy 🙂

From Eclipse:

“Amazing,” Edward muttered. “How can someone so tiny be so annoying?”
Alice laughed. “It’s a talent.”

“Alice was scrutinizing my boring jeans-and-a-T-shirt outfit in a way that made me self-conscious. Probably plotting another makeover. I sighed. My indifferent attitude to fashion was a constant thorn in her side. If I’d allow it, she’d love to dress me everyday―perhaps several times a day―like some oversized three-dimensional paper doll.”

  1. Yes! I love Alice. The quotes made me smile. This is the perfect pick because I think even Alice would be happier if she could just let a couple things fall outside of her control. I sort of forgot the part of the sidekick challenge where we choose a sidekick we love…I got so caught up on characters in need of change. I hope you have a wonderful week, Lexxie!

    • I’m sure it’s still good, Robyn – many, many characters need to work on at least one thing…

I’m glad Alice and I could bring a smile to your face today! Thanks for stopping by. <3

    • Thanks Jeann 🙂 I love Alice, though, but I think if she toned it down a little bit, life would just be easier for everyboy involved…

  2. Of course, she’d see when that resolution would lapse so would pass on it anyway. 😉
Love Alice, she doubly makes up for Bella’s non-desire for “shop-ping” as Charlie puts it.

  3. Now we didn’t discuss her, Lexxie! 😉 But you’re right – I’m sure Bella would have appreciated it if Alice had refrained from interfering quite so much…and often. 🙂 Alice is definitely one of my fav characters from Twilight! She’s quirky and her heart is always in the right place.

I hope your Sunday was super. 😉 And Happy Monday, my dear. I’ll see you in about 10 hours. LOL Oh, yes, I did like Vision of Shadows…quite a bit. Hopefully we can chat in the next few days about it. 🙂 *HUGS*

    • I know we didn’t discuss her, Brandee. I don’t know why, but when I started writing my post, she popped into my head, demanding to be a part of it 😉

I did have a good Sunday, today is foggy and gloomy, though.

I think I’ll be around online when you get up today… I’ll look for you on facebook for a Vision of Shadows chat! *hugs*

  4. LOL That’s hilarious! I agree, Alice is so much fun. Of course, I named my car after her 😀 and Alice in Wonderland so…The clothes thing does get a bit naggy. Bella is never gonna change that about herself. This was a really fun post. I hope your weekend was a great one!! Jaclyn @ JC’s Book Haven.

    • LOL your car is named Alice, Jaclyn? That’s funny! I hope your car is a little less whimsical than Alice, though (both of them!)

      Have a great week 🙂

    • I know right? I’m not sure if I’d enjoy this series as much now as I did when I first read it – but Alice was awesome regardless 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by Lindy.

  5. I love this meme and don’t know why I don’t participate in it. I really liked Alice’s character too. (I liked those books till book 4). It’s been a long time since I’ve read them so I am thinking more of the movie character Alice but still I liked her there too.
