The Rosie Project - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The Rosie Project (Don Tillman #1) – Graeme Simsion

Don Tillman, professor of genetics, has never been on a second date. He is a man who can count all his friends on the fingers of one hand, whose lifelong difficulty with social rituals has convinced him that he is simply not wired for romance. So when an acquaintance informs him that he would make a “wonderful” husband, his first reaction is shock. Yet he must concede to the statistical probability that there is someone for everyone, and he embarks upon The Wife Project. In the orderly, evidence-based manner with which he approaches all things, Don sets out to find the perfect partner. She will be punctual and logical—most definitely not a barmaid, a smoker, a drinker, or a late-arriver.
Yet Rosie Jarman is all these things. She is also beguiling, fiery, intelligent—and on a quest of her own. She is looking for her biological father, a search that a certain DNA expert might be able to help her with. Don’s Wife Project takes a back burner to the Father Project and an unlikely relationship blooms, forcing the scientifically minded geneticist to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie—and the realization that love is not always what looks good on paper.
The Rosie Project is a moving and hilarious novel for anyone who has ever tenaciously gone after life or love in the face of overwhelming challenges.

  1. I got the Keri Lake books thanks to Braine last week. I have heard they are very good. You got a nice assortment of things. One of these days I will try out audio books. Nice stack of books this week.

    Grace @ Books of Love

    • Maybe it was on your blog that I saw those books, Grace, then I went to look for them at amazon, and they were just too cheap to resist 😉
      Have a great weekend.

  2. Haven’t even heard about most of these, but The Truth About Alice is pretty awesome! I hope you like these all (and enjoy The Truth About Alice as much as I did).
    Have a good weekend 🙂

    • I am looking forward to all of these – and I have heard a lot of things about The Truth About Alice.
      Thanks for stopping by, Milka.

  3. Wow!! Lots of books here!! I still need to read Nalini’s latest in the Guild Hunter series. Other than that these are new to me ones! That cover model on the second book reminds me of Selene with longer hair from the Underworld movies with that all leather body suit! LOL!

Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • I’m not familiar with the Underworld movie, Jessica, but it’s funny that the cover of another book made you think of it. Enjoy your weekend.

  4. Wow, you did go crazy on audible – but hey, you had a gc and a credit, so it’s all good! 😉 I highly approve of your choices. Happy to see The Truth About Alice on there. 🙂 I’m giggling over the fact that we both added Keri Lake to our kindles this week. I already had Soul Avenged but I picked up the others as well.

I hope your weekend is off to a great start, Lexxie!! I can’t wait to hear about what you did with your day off from hockey. 😉 **BIG HUGS**

    • Ha! I’m so happy you approve of my choices, Brandee 🙂 Your review about The Truth About Alice is the reason I felt like I had to read it 🙂 Keri Lake’s books just seemed to be able to ‘do it’ for me 😉 I’m glad it’s the same for you.
My weekend is really good so far! And not having hockey today made it into an extended family dinner instead.
      *BIG HUGS*

    • Oh, I didn’t see that the 2nd book was only $0.99… Have you read Langlais’ Alien Abduction series? I just finished the 5th book today, and between the hotness and the laugh-out-loud moments, I had a great time.

  5. Woo hoo! What a haul! I, of course, picked up Breaking the Rules this week. I can’t wait for more Noah and Echo. Several of your books are new to me, so I need to check them out because they look like something I will enjoy. The Truth About Alice was excellent. I hope you enjoy all your new reads!

    My StS!

  6. You’re haul makes mine look embarrassing LOL!
I’ve got a copy of The Rose Project i’d love to start too (hopefully sometime during the holidays?) and I still have to read Breaking the Rules as well!

    • Because my haul is huge, or because yours is bigger, Lily? I wish I could spend most of my waking hours reading – there are so many good-looking books on my shelves already, and I feel like adding more all the time.

    • I bought the Truth About Alice because my good friend Brandee loved it 🙂 And her review made me get it 😉
I hope we’ll both enjoy it, Amber Marie.

    • I have loved all of Katie McGarry’s books so far, Paige 🙂 I hope you’ll find the time to read them soon – and that you’ll enjoy them.

  7. I’ve heard great things about The Rosie Project. I need to still read The Truth About Alice. I was lucky enough to go to the signing and get my copy signed. I love Maggie but still haven’t had a chance to start The Raven Boys series yet. Excited for Breaking The Rules!

    My Stack

    • I have heard great things about these books myself. And as a huge Stiefvater fan, I have no idea why I haven’t stated the Raven Boys yet 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Jennifer.

  8. Nice haul! I am happy you got the Sons of Wrath books so far! I have read the first two books and really enjoyed them, that reminds me I really need to read the third book soon and the novella! And yay for winning a gift card, it’s always so exciting to win giveaways!

    • I am looking forward to reading the Sons of Wrath books, Lola. And yes, GCs are the best to win in giveaways – all the choice is ours then 🙂

    • Lots of bloggers got Breaking the Rules this week, and I’m sure we’re all equally excited to read more about Echo and Noah, Christy.

    • Yes, I definitely picked up a lot of books, and several of them can be used for COYER (as if I needed more books that qualify for COYER)…
      Have a great Sunday, Berls.
