Stacking The Shelves #20

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Participating in Stacking The Shelves has helped me to keep better track of books I’m adding to my huge TBR pile every week, and I think I have gotten a little better at not adding too many books every single week. Participating in this blog-hop has also introduced me to more new blogs, and some weeks, I add more books to my ‘might-read-one-day’ shelf than I should, but before I actually have the books on my kindle, nothing has been decided yet.

Netgalley ARCs:

Perfect Lies cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsPerfect Lies (Mind Games #2) – Kiersten White

Summary: First they made me kill.
Then leave behind the one person I love.
Now I’m getting even.
Annie and Fia have battled to survive within the sinister Keane Foundation for years, using their powers to defend each other. Now the sisters have allies; friends who might help them escape.
But Annie’s visions of the future are never certain and Fia’s flawless instincts can’t always tell her who to trust. With only each other truly to rely on, their extraordinary gifts may not be enough to save them…

Kindle Purchases:

Bomb cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsBOMB: A Day in the Life of Spencer Shrike (Rook and Ronin Spinoff) – J.A. Huss

Summary: Spencer Shrike is a plotter. Known for his ingenious, albeit illegal, plans that keeps the Team running efficiently and out of jail, he carries this same love of order into his personal life. He’s kept his long-time main squeeze on the sidelines for years as he builds the Shrike Bikes empire.
Veronica Vaughn is an explosion ready to happen. Ronnie lives in the here and now. She lives for today. She knows what she wants, and she wants it now. And right now Ron the Bomb Vaughn wants Spencer shrike to leave her the hell alone. She’s done playing his game. She’s done waiting around. She’s moving forward with her own plots, plans, and dreams and she’s moving forward tonight. Ron the Bomb is finally—finally—gonna get some satisfaction.

I’ve been really, really good this week, haven’t I? Only adding two books to my TBR is actually almost amazing. I can’t remember the last time I got so few books in a week. But it’s truly a good thing, since I have far to many already playing hide-and-seek on my kindle as it is! And I also started classes again this week, I’ll have a lot of fun linguistics books and articles to read, so I really needed to slow down on my acquisitions of new books 😀

I also got myself a new header and a new follow button this week! What do you think? Silvia from Darkest Sins made them for me, and I’m really happy with the result if I may say so myself 😀

Remember to leave me your link so I can check out your Stacking the Shelves post, too 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Have a spectacular Saturday.

  1. Jessica @ a GREAT read

Ooh nice! Love the look for your new header! Very fresh and very nice! 😉

That cover for Perfect Lies is sooo different from the US one. This cover model kind of reminds me of the actress in the Hunger Games. Strange, since I haven’t seen the movies, but hard to miss the news on those movies! Plus my older sis likes them!

Hope you enjoy your newest additions! As always, my STS will be up on Sunday, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • Thank you Jessica! I love it, too! Silvia from Darkest Sins made both for me. And I’m really happy with them 🙂 I needed a little change here.

Yeah, I know the Perfect Lies cover IS really different, the color scheme and everything. Thanks for stopping by, Jessica 🙂 Have a great weekend.

    • Yes, I’ve heard good things as well, Luna. I haven’t read the first yet, either, so I need to hurry up.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Only two books? Wow. You’re being controlled. 😉 My TBR is quite small for me…well, so far this year I’ve been really stacking up the books. But it’s getting under control now! Yay! I don’t feel so overwhelmed. 😉 My StS!

    • I know, right? I guess being in class instead of surfing all the book-blogs I follow helped a little, too.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • Yes, Kai, it is the UK edition. I think I like the US edition better, but it’s still kind of nice to have the different one 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I’ve not read either of these series yet, but they’re both on my radar.

    I hope you enjoy!

I have Tease for review but haven’t gotten around to reading it yet. Grim definitely looks interesting and I absolutely loved Heartbeat. It was tough to read because of the issues it dealt with, but I thought it was fantastic.

    Enjoy all your goodies!

Check out my StS and my birthday giveaway!

    • I actually think that stories dealing with issues that are tough to read about are very good! I am lucky enough to be in a good situations, but one can never have too much empathy!

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • Thank you Shelley 🙂 I love it too!

I haven’t read the first book yet, so I better hurry up 🙂 Have a good weekend.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hello Lexxie 🙂 You probably know I’m a fairly recent follower but liking what I’ve seen of your blog so far! Well done on getting only a couple 🙂 I’ve liked White’s novels before & need to get into that series. I thought I’d get to them but I never did 😉 The UK covers (where I’m from, also) are stunning 😀 I think this is a nice little haul & I hope you enjoy them!

  5. Jenese @ Readers Confession

I must day I thought about buying Bomb myself. It sounds good but I haven’t read the others so I wasn’t sure about starting they’re. Enjoy your books. 🙂

    • I think BOMB is supposed to be a stand-alone, but I’m sure you’d enjoy it even more if you already knew Spencer a little bit.

      Thanks for stopping by, Jenese.

    • Oh, usually, I add more books in a week than I can read, even if I’m a pretty fast reader 🙂 Thank you – I’m going to have a lot of classes, and it’s a little hard to get back into the rhythm.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Both sound great! I’ve been seeing J.A. Huss’ titles everywhere and keep hearing such fab things about them that I feel like I should pick some reads up… Uhm, they’re quite tempting…

I can’t express well how much happy I am that you LOVE the header so much! I loved designing it and for me your enthusiasm is the best reward, so thank you!! 🙂

  7. Ooh, you were good this week, Lexxie! Perfect Lies sounds good. And you already know I Love Bomb! 😉 I was pretty good too – but not quite as good as you. I’m still proud of myself though. 🙂

I really love your new header. Sky is working on a new one for me. 🙂 I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!! *BIG HUGS*

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • Yeah, I don’t know why I keep getting more new books when I already have enough to last me for a long while 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by, Angie.

    • Yeah, me too. I have had Mind Games on my kindle for ages – need to read it so I can enjoy Perfect Lies 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by, Sabina.

  8. I have Perfect Lies too! I’m trying to track down Mind Games so I can that one first, but my library is epic fail. LOL. And I missed when you could read it free for a weekend. Le sigh! One of these days I WILL start the JA Huss books! I swear it! LOL. Love the header and button too girl!

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • *sighs* Yes, BOMB!! I’ve even read it already *grins* What?!? you haven’t read Ford’s books yet? They are SO great! And yay, I’m part of the GUNS tour as well 🙂
