STS #83  – Bought Borrowed and Bagged #33

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed & Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from Karen Marie Moning’s amazing Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe.

I did pretty well once more this week, I did get four ARCs, but I was able to not buy any books at all. And I’m really excited about the books I did get, for various reasons, mostly because they are written by authors whose other book(s) I have loved in the past! Actually, after I had this post all prepared yesterday, I got approved for six more titles, so now, I have ten new books. I guess I wasn’t as ‘good’ as I thought, eh?

From Netgalley, I got the following titles:

Nowhere But Here cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Nowhere but Here (Thunder Road #1) by Katie McGarry – this was my WoW pick this week, so you can imagine I did a little happy dance when I got accepted for this by Harlequin Teen, right? I’ve even read it already, and my review will be up the week of release (May 26th 2015). And yes, it’s definitely another winner – 5 stars!

How to Marry a Royal Highlander cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsHow to Marry a Royal Highlander (Renegade Royals #4) by Vanessa Kelly.

This series is so well done, and I love all the ‘bastard’ sons of royalty who are now spies, working to keep England and the crown safe.
Thank you, Kensington Books / Zebra!

Protective Instinct cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsProtective Instinct (Moon Shifter #5.5) by Katie Reus.

Katie Reus is one of my favorite romantic suspense writers, and in this series, another of my literary loves is included as well, shifters for the win!
Thank you, KR Press LLC.

From Edelweiss I got two, nope, make that six books:

Resonance cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsResonance (Dissonance #2) by Erica O’Rourke

I absolutely loved Dissonance, with the complex multiverse and the seemingly impossible task the main character has to save the world.
Thank you, Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers.

The Guilty One cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The Guilty One by Sophie Littlefield.

When I saw a psychological thriller that looks interesting, I couldn’t resist! The Guilty One seems to deal with a quite sad theme, but the power the MC might hold is not something I’d ever want!
Thank you, Gallery Books.

These next five are from HarperCollins Children, thank you so much!

Very in Pieces cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsVery in Pieces by Megan Frazier Blakemore

When I read the summary for this one, I just knew I really, really wanted to read about the good girl who was ready to just live life, and let things happen!

Rules for Stealing Stars cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsRules for Stealing Stars by CoreyAnn Haydu

This sounds like a very sweet story about the youngest of four sister, and what happens when her sisters go off alone at first, then bring her with them. Impossible to resist!

A Madness so Discreet cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsA Madness so Discreet by Mindy McGinnis

A YA thriller with undertones of psychological trauma and an MC who has a knack for noticing details, how could I not want to read this?

A Sliver of Stardust cover - (un)Conventional BookviewsA Sliver of Stardust by Marissa Hurt

The summary for this novel made me think of a beautiful mixture of fairy tales and intrigue, and even with such a young MC, the story sounds fantastic!

That’s it for me this week 🙂 Did you get some exciting-looking books this week? Remember to leave me your link so I can check out your Stacking the Shelves and or Bought, Borrowed and Bagged post, too 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! Have a spectacular Saturday.

  2. Wow, so many great books 🙂 Denne uken har jeg lest en del, men ingen bøker har funnet veien hjem til meg. Kanskje like greit, siden bokhyllene er mer enn fulle! Ønsker deg en riktig god helg, klem fra Anette 🙂

  3. I’m seeing the same books on a lot of blogs these days but I can’t comment on them because I haven’t read any of them! This is the disadvantage of only liking certain genres! Hope you enjoy all your books!

  5. If I read as fast as you I wouldn’t worry about getting approved for 10 books in one week! I’m eager to read Anywhere but Here. And A Sliver of Stardust looks good, too. I’d forgotten I wanted to read Dissonance. Guess I better get on that! 😉 Happy reading, Lexxie! **BIG HUGS**
