Passenger 19 cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews Bought Borrowed

Passenger 19 by Ward Larsen, thank you Oceanview Publishing!

Jammer Davis has spent most of his life investigating aircraft accidents. When a small regional jet disappears over the jungles of Colombia, it is a tragedy like dozens of others he has seen…but for one terrible detail—his young daughter, who was enroute to a semester abroad in South America, is listed on the passenger manifest.
A distraught Davis rushes to Bogotá and bulls his way into the inquiry. When the wreckage is located, it becomes clear the crash was unsurvivable. As the investigation gains momentum, the facts go astray. Two pilots had been shot before the crash, along with one passenger. The possibility of a hijacking looms large as the search begins to focus on two passengers who boarded the plane, yet their remains cannot be found.
Davis uncovers an even more sinister plot behind the entire disaster—one that goes to the highest levels of the United States government. But how could it possibly involve his daughter?

He Will Be My Ruin cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews Bought BorrowedHe Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker – Thank you Atria Books!

The USA TODAY bestselling author of the Ten Tiny Breaths and Burying Water series makes her romantic thriller debut with this heartpounding story of a young woman determined to find justice after her best friend’s death, a story pulsing with the “intense, hot, emotional” (Colleen Hoover) writing that exhilarates her legions of fans.
Twenty-eight-year-old Maggie Sparkes arrives in New York City to pack up what’s left of her best friend’s belongings after a suicide that has left everyone stunned. The police have deemed the evidence conclusive: Celine got into bed, downed a bottle of Xanax and a handle of Maker’s Mark, and never woke up. But when Maggie discovers secrets in the childhood lock box hidden in Celine’s apartment, she begins asking questions. Questions about the man Celine fell in love with. The man she never told anyone about, not even Maggie. The man who Celine herself claimed would be her ruin.
On the hunt for answers that will force the police to reopen the case, Maggie uncovers more than she bargained for about Celine’s private life—and inadvertently puts herself on the radar of a killer who will stop at nothing to keep his crimes undiscovered.

The Pirate's Tempting Stowaway cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The Pirate’s Tempting Stowaway by Erica Ridley – thank you Intrepid Reads!

Captain Blackheart leads a simple life of roving the seas, wenching and treasure-hunting. He steers clear of romantic entanglements that could tie him to land. He shouldn’t have any trouble keeping his hands off the gently-bred lady he’s commissioned to abduct—except his cargo turns out to be feisty and passionate! She’d be a prize worth treasuring, if having her aboard didn’t jeopardize everything…
Clara Halton thought the worst loss she could suffer was to be stripped of her family, stricken with consumption, and left to die alone. Then she meets Blackheart. Their attraction is ruinous…and irresistible. When he delivers her like so much plunder, his mission is over — but hers has just begun. She’ll force him to acknowledge their connection, even if she must storm his ship to do it!

Shifting Gears cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Shifting Gears by Audra North – thank you St. Martin’s Paperbacks!

She’s not at all what he expected. He’s just as sinfully sexy as she remembered. And together they’re about to heat up the track.
Grady Hart is the black sheep of his family. For years he’s managed the Hart Racing team, but while racing is in his blood, his real passion lies under the hood. Ready to start out on his own, all he needs to do is find a replacement for his old job. However, the best candidate for crew chief isn’t someone he would have expected: sweet, proper Annabelle Murrary, the literal Girl Next Door who’s definitely grown up since high school.
All her life Annabelle has tried to fit into the role of perfect daughter-and failed. Divorced, broke and living back home with her mother, she’s tired of trying to live up to her parents’ impossible standards. Taking on the position as crew chief for a successful racing team-and getting her hands dirty-is just what she’s looking for…but first she has to get past her old crush on her new boss. After all, it’s never smart to mix business with pleasure, or is it?

Eighteen cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews Bought BorrowedEighteen by J.A. Huss

Eighteen is hard.
And so is Mateo Alesci.
He’s hard to read, hard to predict, hard in every way that counts. He wants things from me.
Dirty things, nasty things, forbidden things.
And I have to give in.
His attention is completely inappropriate, but I can’t say no. The way he looks at me… the way he watches me through my bedroom window… the way he drags me deeper and deeper into his completely forbidden fantasy world just… turns me on.
He knows it turns me on.
He holds all the power. He holds all the cards.
He holds my entire future in his hands.
And I have to give in.
Because Mr. Alesci is my teacher.
And I need everything he’s offering.

Leading the Lady’s Forgotten Army is Keirran himself: Ethan’s nephew, and the traitor son of the Iron Queen, Meghan Chase. To stop Keirran, Ethan must disobey his sister once again as he and his girlfriend, Kenzie, search for answers long forgotten. I can’t get him out of my mind, and I can’t keep myself out of his bed
Kendall
He wasn’t supposed to notice me. Jace Barlow: the most powerful man in the city. Mysterious, scarred, pure muscle and tattoos.
He was my first. That didn’t stop him from pinning me against a wall, using me for his own pleasure until I screamed his name.
Now my boss thinks I’m getting the scoop of the century, but all Jace is giving me is orgasm after leg-quivering orgasm. When he puts his hand on my throat and growls in my ear…
“You are mine.”
I know it’s true.
I’ve fallen hard and I’ve never felt safer…
Until I see him kill somebody.
Jace
I dedicated my life to taking down the Picolli Crime Family from the inside. I made a name for myself, the mafia’s most brutal enforcer. I worked my way up the chain, and my revenge came. A righteous bloodbath.
Then I took their place so they could never come back.
Nothing else has ever mattered. Until Kendall.
She was an innocent girl for me to defile, and then leave her ruined for other men like all the rest. But she makes me so hard I ache for release, and for the first time in my life, I want to have her again.
Kendall’s the chink in my armor my enemies have been looking for.
I don’t care.
She is mine and I’ll die before I give her up.

  2. OOoh nice haul! Lots of new to me reads, except for The Iron Warrior! Which I loved! Was quite pleased with how everything ended, though I still can’t believe the series as a whole, is really over! So sad!

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  3. What a great haul! I received The Knights Before Christmas by Joan Holub for review. After I finish the print copy, I’ll be sending it on to a friend in NY. Her sister is very upset she doesn’t have friends or get mail at their new house (they moved about a month and a half ago), so I’ll be sending her a little box of books!

  4. Oooh another Erica Ridley book…didn’t know about that one. She pops those books out so quickly. I still need to read her, I have 2 or 3 of her books on my reader waiting to be read. Hope you enjoy.

  5. Great haul Lexxie!!!! So many interesting covers. I admit i’m not familiar with them all but I do know a few like Julie Kagawa & J.A. Huss. Winning new books is the best!!!! Looks like you have a great mix to keep you busy. I hope you really enjoy them all. Happy reading and have a great week.

  6. Passenger 19 sounds creepy! He Will be My Ruin sounds a bit darker then Tucker her previous books, so not sure if it is for me, but it does sound good and I am really enjoying her Burying Water series so far. I’ll await a few reviews first, before I decide whether I want to read it. It’s been a while since I read an Audra North book, I read a few novella’s by her last year and really enjoyed them, but never picked up any of her other books. I hope you’ll enjoy all your new books!

Lola recently posted: Sunday Post #153
    • I recently read the first book in Audra North’s series, Lola, and I really enjoyed it because it featured a female car racer 🙂 Tucker’s story does sound a little darker, but she’s one of those authors I just can’t resist 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by, Lola.

  7. Gah! I still need to get into The Iron Fey Series :O And the worst bit? I own all the first 4 books. #Fail. 8. Oh my! You certainly managed to bring in quite the haul, Lexxie! I know how much you enjoy KA Tucker, so I’m sure that’ll be an enjoyable read. And CONGRATS on all the wins! I’m particularly envious of Pent Up. 😉 Perhaps we can buddy read that one? Oh, and Erica Ridley! I need to read more in that series – just remembered to add that series to my catch up list. Gah! I’m never going to get caught up! *haha* I hope you enjoy every one of your reads, my friend!!

    • I am so excited about the Tucker title it’s not even funny! I would love to buddy read Pent Up! I’m sure we’ll both have fun with it… I’ve read a review that was so glowing I know Damon has brought everything to that story.
Erica Ridley’s series is a lot of fun, and I’ve started this one already. It’s great so far. *BIG HUGS*

  9. I have been almost tempted to read Julie Kagawa’s novels, but after DNFing Talon, I’m a bit hesitant to pick up another one of her novels. But the Iron Fey series just…looks SO TEMPTING.
