The Sunday Post #9 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my weekly wrap-up post. I am signing up with Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event.
This past week was pretty amazing! I finally got my Bachelor’s diploma, as the official ceremony was this past Monday. It’s so nice to be able to touch it, see it, and know that I’ve been able to sign up to be a substitute teacher now. I’ll hopefully be able to find a position for about four hours per week in a high-school close to my home starting in January. Can you tell how excited I am? We don’t do the capes and hats here in Switzerland, but we did get a nice scarf with the Uni logo on it, and it was the first time graduates got one! It looked really cool when we were on stage with diplomas and scarves 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Congratulations! What an incredible milestone to achieve! 😀
Yeah, it also really felt like it took forever! Most of the people I started Uni with finished a year before me… So that last year was tough both because I had a lot of work (I had changed my 2nd major) and because only a few of my friends were still around…
Have a great Sunday, Claudia.
Ahh oh my gosh, congrats on getting your diploma! That’s amazing news, I’m so happy for you ^.^
Thank you Melanie! I’m very happy for me, too 🙂 It was so nice to finally get my hands on that diploma, it is proof that all my hard work has paid off – even if I’m continuing to work on my MA degree now.
Woohoo, congratulations Lexxie!! Must be amazing to finally be rewarded for all your hard work. And the dimploma looks very pretty, ha.
Thank you for linking up my post <3 Have a great week!
PS. How did I not follow you on Bloglovin yet?! Fixed that immediately
hmm… and apparently, I wasn’t following you either. Fixed as well 🙂
Yes! That’s exactly how it feels, Celine. I think it’s a pretty diploma too, my husband’s first thought was that we need to frame it 😀
Congrats Lexie! You’re actually kind of lucky not to have the gowns! I graduated with a BSc back in July and we had to wear them, they’re actually really uncomfortable, and the hood (which has trim that looks a bit like your scarf but in University colours) wouldn’t stay put!
Congrats to you, too, Laura! I agree, I didn’t really want to have the gowns, but I was really happy we got something official to make the whole experience more ceremonial 🙂
Congratulations on your diploma! It has to feel great to have it in your hands after all the hard work earning it!
Thank you Kim! Yes, it definitely does feel good to have it in my hands 🙂 Happy reading.

Congrats!! I know how good it feels to get that achievement. I wish I could go back to school. I love it and would be a professional college student if I could afford it. Anyway, Congrats!
Thank you Melanie! While I do love being a student, I’m also looking forward to starting to teach now 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS!! I hope you enjoy teaching. It is very rewarding!
I will never forget the day I graduated. Texas State streamed it live and had a recording saved somewhere online, which was good because I was in such a daze by the fact that I WAS GRADUATING the entire time the speakers were speaking, I don’t remember much of what they said! I went back and watched the video and got to see myself walk across the stage.
Thank you Charlie! Yes, I can’t wait to start teaching, actually. LOL, our ceremony was filmed, too, and it will show up on the uni website very soon, so I can look at it when I’m not so excited about everything that’s going on around me 🙂
Congrats! You look so happy with your diploma and what a great achievement!
We don’t do capes and hats here neither, although that scraf you got looks nice! We didn’t got anything like that when I got my diploma’s. I hope now you can find a job you want :).
I’m definitely very, very happy, Lola! I’m also happy we did get a little something to remind us of the ceremony later, the scarf is really nice, and I hope it will be a new trend 🙂
Happy Sunday!
Congratulations and I hope you like substitute teaching. It is really interesting that you don’t do the caps and gowns thing in Switzerland. It is very sensible. I just followed you w G+.
Here is my Sunday Post: http://fangswandsandfairydust.com/2014/12/blue-sunday-post.html
Yeah, it’s different than in anglo-saxon countries, for sure. But it made me happy that we all still had something that was the same for all the graduates, it made it even more official 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Steph 🙂
Congratulations! And good luck. I hope you achieve all your dreams.
Thank you Annette 🙂
Congrats!! I’ve worked on a 2 year degree from 2000-2013 and I still have one class left. LOL It’s hard to go to school, work full time and raise a kid. I’ll get that one class done at some point.
BTW the #HunkDay Hearth Hotties post is not mine. ;p
Thank you for letting me know! I don’t know what happened there… I’m sure I had a post from you I wanted to share, too. I must have gotten things mixed up :O
Thank you Jennifer! I have been lucky enough to quit work and study full-time – but my three-year degree still took me four years. Even with all the help I’ve gotten both from my husband and the kids 🙂
I’m sure you’ll be able to get that class done, and once you do, you’ll be so happy you managed to fit it in!
Have a great Sunday 🙂
Hey congratulations on your diploma- that’s exciting. The scarves look nice. Good luck with finding the position you want… have a nice week and happy reading. 🙂
Thanks, Greg 🙂 I still have more studies to finalize before I’m all finished, but at least now I can see the end of the tunnel 🙂
Congratulations! Bask in the glow…and it doesn’t ever go away. I still recall mine, and that was at least a hundred years ago…LOL.
Enjoy whatever you do next.
Oops, here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
LOL Laurel-Rain! I kind of doubt it was a hundred years ago 😀 I’m at least twenty years older than most of my fellow students, so I feel like I’ve been at it forever 😉
Congratulations and good luck on finding the idea substituting position, Lexxie. Have a wonderful week.

Thank you Terri! Hopefully, it’ll work with the high school that’s the closest to my house 🙂
Bravo Lexxie! You must be on cloud nine! Now you have it in your hands and on to teaching:)
Exactly, Laura 🙂 I can’t wait!

((((HUGS)))) Congrats! You worked so hard, I am so happy for you! A great achievement and something to be very proud of!
*hugs* right back at you, Michelle 🙂 It is a great achievement, and I’m so happy I actually made it!
Congrats! That’s a fantastic achievement. I like the scarf; it’s lovely and a fabulous idea.
Have a great week!
Yeah, that scarf made me almost as happy as my diploma, Bea 😀
Congratulations! That’s very exciting and good luck with the job hunt. Don’t feel bad about not getting the cap and gown. The gown is hot and the cap is annoying and not particularly flattering 🙂 Have a great week!
I don’t feel bad about the cap and gown, but I was really happy to get that scarf! Have a great week yourself, Katherine 🙂
Congrats Lexie!! Glad you finally got your diploma! It was worth it in the end!! Whoo hoo!
Thanx for visiting My Weekly Wrap-Up!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
Thank you Naomi 🙂 I’m hard at work to get my MA now, and it’s amazing how different the classes are.

WOO HOO on the diploma!
Thank you Sheila 🙂 Have a fantastic week!
Congratulations Lexxie, that’s fantastic! I hope you get the work that you’re after.
Have a great week.
Thank you Sharon 🙂 Have a great week, too!
Congratulations !! And fingers crossed for the job 😉 Not that I don’t appreciate the other posts, but thanks for the hearth hotties link ^^ Have a great week !
LOL, those hearth hotties are worth the detour, aren’t they? Thanks for the congrats, Iza!
Congrats, my friend! It is quite an accomplishment and you should be very proud! I have my fingers crossed for the substitute position. I know everything will work out! 🙂 And thanks for the shout out, too! **BIG HUGS**

Yay!!! *throws confetti* Congratulations Lexxie! Big hug! I’m so excited for you – that’s a major accomplishment and I hope you’re able to find work substituting easily – I don’t know if its like in the states, but around here we tend to be desperate for even semi-qualified subs, let alone one with a bachelors!
Thanks for the shout out, I’m still feeling rather proud of myself for last month 😀 Have an amazing week!
Thank you Berls! I’m very happy to have finally achieved to get my BA degree 🙂 And it shouldn’t be too difficult to find work substituting, I’d really like the high school closest to me, though… We’ll see.
You did so well in November, now you just have to continue to be good in December 😉
