The Sunday Post #29 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
This week has been quite busy, as I have to create the end of the year exams for my students. I only started teaching in February, and straight away, I got a long term replacement gig for a teacher who is on maternity leave, which is really a great opportunity. However, since I haven’t finished my own education yet, it isn’t that easy to actually create a full exam, which will cover all of the grammar, plus vocabulary and writing. I’m very lucky to have some of the other English teachers helping me, I’m meeting with them on Thursday so they can look at my exam and tell me if it’s good or not.
In just 15 days, I’ll be flying to Dallas to participate in RT Book Convention, and I am so excited! Several bloggers I really enjoy chatting with are going, as well as many of my favorite authors. I will have some posts up during the time I’m there, but I don’t think I’ll have much time to visit other blogs, or comment here on my own for one week.
Yesterday, I went on a long walk with my youngest daughter, even if rain was looming, and I thought the colors plus the tree made for an awesome photo to share with all of you today 🙂 Then, just after we got back home, I got this one, too :

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
I do love those walks with my boys (separately). I start substitute teaching pretty soon and I’m nervous, not even a little bit. But coming up with an exam, oh boy! I’m so excited for you and Brandee for RT! All those bloggers, writers, and books. Holy cow!
I’m sure you’ll do really well substitute teaching, Robyn! I am really, really excited about RT, too! I can’t wait to spend time with Brandee for real, and just hang out and chat, laugh and giggle like we sometimes do while sending e-mails back and forth 🙂
This comment box doesn’t like me, but I’m going to try again. I love those walks with my boys (separately). That’s pretty nerve wracking about creating a test. I start substitute teaching soon and I’m nervous, definitely nervous. I’m so excited for RT for you and Brandee. All those authors, bloggers, and books and I’m guessing some good food? I’m wishing you a super time, Lexxie!
Hmm sorry about that, Robyn, both your comments were stuck in the pending folder. I hope you’ll be able to just comment next time.
15 days! I’m so excited for you Lexxie! Even more so, because you are going to be able to connect with other bloggers within your community! I hope that I am able to meet up with some of the few I’m friends with <3 Such lovely pictures too
I’m really excited, too, Claudia. Connecting with bloggers in real life is going to be such a treat! One I wasn’t sure would actually happen one day, as we live on different sides of the world, too.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
That’s such a great opportunity for you Lexxie, especially since you haven’t finished your studies yet! Sounds like you’ll do wonderfully. Can’t wait to hear how you go at the convention! Thanks for sharing my post, too.
Yeah, it’s really great, and I love it. The convention is going to be a lot of fun, I’m sure. I hope I won’t have to battle jet-lag too much 😉
I have to be quick, preparing to leave, have a great week and enjoy your books – I’ll be back to harrass you soon ^^
Safe travels, Iza! I’m going to miss you 😀

Congratulations on the great opportunity. 🙂 I really want to go to RT I hate living on the other side of the world. The picture is lovely of the rainbow. Have a great reading week 🙂
I live at the other side of the world as well, Megan, but I just really wanted to go for once, so ever since the beginning of October, I’ve had my hotel room booked, my plane ticket, and the RT registration. It’s going to be a lot of fun, I’m sure.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
The book convention sounds great. I just commented on a post mentioning a writers’ festival and said that I really enjoy hanging out with like-minded people and those passionate about reading, writing and words. So many people in my life… Just. Don’t. Get. It.
*Sigh*
Deb
Oh, I know what you mean about other people in RL don’t getting it… Which is yet another reason why I love the blogging community so much! I can’t wait to hang out with some of my favorite bloggers for real… and some of my fave authors will be there as well.
Thanks for stopping by, Deborah.
Lexxie.. you are a teacher!? love teachers. I’ll be visiting Brandee @ Bookworm Brandee’s chat about Blogging Routines thanks for sharing. Can’t wait for you posts about the RT Book Convention! have a great week 🙂
Well, I’m not fully a teacher yet, Daniela. Here in Switzerland, we need a Master’s degree in the subject we want to teach, and once we have that, we can do the pedagogy courses which last two years. But once we have our BA, we are allowed to substitute teach, and I love it!
Thanks for stopping by, Daniela.
Those pictures are gorgeous! I hope you have an amazing time at RT! And congrats on the replacement job 🙂
Thank you, Christy! I’m happy about my substitute gig, as well as my upcoming trip to Dallas for RT 🙂
Amazing timing to get the long term appointment. How do you do it. School and the convention, plus blogging and life in general. You are so busy! Lovely rainbow. I spent Saturday weed eating and then hunkered down for a horrific storm that blew through. Today will be spent doing cleanup.
I’ve actually been teaching this class since the end of January, but only recently I found out that I’m the one who has to invent their final exam… Yes, I’m pretty busy, but I enjoy that a lot!
I hope the clean-up will be easy to do, Laura 🙂
The convention sounds like fun! Enjoy….and thanks for sharing. Love the photographs…such a nice walk amongst green and blooming lushness.
Sounds like you are getting into the routine of your teaching.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your new week.
I’m so excited about the convention I can’t sit still these days, Laurel-Rain!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
What a great opportunity – Congrats! The RT Book Convention sounds like a really great time. The rainbow picture is so pretty – Have a wonderful week!
Thanks, Grace 🙂
Wow! With your busy schedule, totally amazing that you have time to fit in any reading. Sure your exam will be awesome, and what a wonderful opportunity. We can’t wait to see tons of pics from the convention and won’t it be great to put faces with the names of people you’ve been chatting with? Hope your day is relaxing before the week picks up again. Hugs…
I’ll definitely take a lot of pictures during the convention, RO, I can’t wait to get to Dallas! But yeah, there’s definitely a lot of stuff I have to get done before I can leave and not worry about things here at home 🙂
As for reading, that’s my oxygen, so it’s good that I’m always able to get that included in my days.
I love a good walk, even in the rain. My sister and I used to have these clear umbrellas that came down over your face that were great for walking in the rain. Your photos show spring peeking out. I think we’ll be there next week, the trees are just starting to bud.
I like that you’ve included interesting posts for us to check out.
I don’t mind walking in the rain either, Elizabeth, but this time, we managed to finish our walk before it started raining 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
May I ask, Where did you get the widgets for showing how much you’ve read? I just switched to WP self hosted and the ones I was using on blogger don’t work anymore.
I’m using Ashley @ Nose Graze’s plugins and themes, because she’s so good at it! If you check out her site, you should be able to find everything you need as a wordpress blogger!

I love the photos..particularly the darker sky. There is just something about pre-rain skies that hold such promise. Hope your week goes well, good luck studying!
Thank you Kim! I just love that tree, and the contrast between the very green grass, the tree and the dark sky just spoke to me.
That sounds challenging having to make a whole exam, that’s nice those other english teacher will take a look at for you. I hope you have a great time at RT! It must be so exciting to atttend a book con as there aren’t that many here in Europe.
That picture of the tree is so pretty with that dark stormy sky behind it! Havea great week!
Yeah, it’s a little scary! I will know tomorrow how I’ve done 😉
I’m so excited to go to RT I can hardly think of anything else these days, Lola. I’m sure I’ll have a great time with Brandee, Jennifer, Berls and others 🙂
You’re going to the RT convention?!!! I am so jealous! Please take a ton of pics and post them! Congrats on the teaching job! You must be so proud of yourself 😉 Miss you friend!!! Just wanted to stop by and say “hi!”
Yup, I am definitely going to the RT convention this year, Lindy! It’s a long way from home, but I’m so excited. I will take lots of photos, and will probably tweet some of them while things are happening, then do a wrap-up post when I come back home.
Have fun at the RT Convention. I think it would be a lot of fun. I’m doing BEA this year though, so I’m still excited about that.
-lauren
It was a toss-up between BEA and RT for me, Lauren, but because my blogger-buddy Brandee is going to RT, I decided to go there, too. I can’t wait to meet her for real!
I’m sure you’ll have a fantastic time at BEA 🙂
Aw, I LOVE the picture with the rainbow- it sounds so nice to go for a long walk with your daughter too 🙂 And RT sounds like it is going to be SO fun, I hope you have an amazing time!
Thank you Shannon 🙂 It’s always nice when I’m able to spend some time with one of the kids on their own… they all need a little one-on-one time every now and then, and because there are four of them – even now that they’re older – it doesn’t happen all that often.
Oh I absolutely adore your photos Lexxie! I absolutely love it when the sky is dark (i’m nicknamed Vampire by a lot of my friends)–so I approve!
I hope you have a great time at your convention and I hope you have a lovely week 🙂
LOL Vampire? Really? I love a stormy sky, too, and that tree is beautiful! Have a great week, Lily.
Those photos are absolutely gorgeous, Lexxie! I’m glad you got in a special walk with #4 and you were able to share such lovely sights. Thanks for the shout-out, too. I think my first real discussion post went over pretty well. I just need to comment back! *ha* Good luck with the exam creation – I’m sure you’ve done well. 🙂 **BIG HUGS**
Yup, your first discussion post was great, Brandee! *BIG HUGS*
Yeah for book conventions. I hope it is an awesome time.
And thanks for linking up to us! Here here!
Book conventions might become my new addiction, Nikki 😉
Goodluck getting your first exam together. Jealous you guys are going to the RT Book Convention. Hope you have fun and take me some pics!!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
I will definitely take pics, Naomi. I wish you were coming too!
Lovely photos! We’ve been having a lot of days that looks exactly like that lately. I hope everything with your exam goes well!
