The Sunday Post #51 – Weekly Wrap-up
Welcome to my Sunday Post. Thank you to Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
This was my first full week of classes for the fall semester, and I’m exhausted! It’s always hard to get back into the rhythm of studying after several months off. My classes are really interesting, though, so I know the semester will be good, albeit filled with a lot of hard work!
Tomorrow, child #2 (my oldest son) is 18! And yesterday evening, we had dinner with his god-father, as well as the family, and we had such a good time. He was happy to spend some time with all of us, especially since he’s usually so very busy both with school and ice-hockey.

What have you been up to this past week? Don’t forget to leave me a link so I can come visit your Sunday Post as well.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve enjoyed your weekend, and that next week will be filled with awesome!
Happy birthday to child #2! I can imagine you’re exhausted, but at least you have good classes. Hopefully they’ll be challenging but overly so.
Thank you, Bea 🙂 It’s so weird to have two of my children being ‘adults’ now!!
My classes will be challenging, but they are so interesting, it’s all worth it 🙂
Happy Birthday to him! 18 is a big deal. 🙂 Hope classes get easier once you get back into the groove.
It’s definitely a big deal! And it feels so strange, but also good 🙂 I’m sure once I get back into the groove my classes will be amazing.
Always challenging to start out a year of study after a big break, sounds like you are loving what you are doing though. All the best for the semester.
Thanks Kathryn! My classes are very interesting, but yeah, it is hard to be back in school once more 🙂
Happy Birthday to your son 🙂 My boy turned 17 in may, and I can´t believe how time flies. I was just 17!!
Congrats to your son’s birthday….sounds like it was a fun day!
Thank you Renee 🙂 We had a great day celebrating, and we’ll continue tomorrow 😉
Hope you get back into the swing of things!!! Happy Birthday to your son!! 18 is a big one and sound slike you had a lovely dinner. Have a great week!
I’m sure I’ll get back into the swing of things with my classes very soon. 18 is a big one, he can vote now! Have a great week yourself, Grace 🙂
I always think of you as being in your 20s or early 30s with young kids so it’s funny to here you say your child is 18.
LOL Steph 🙂 That’s nice! Most of my fellow students, who are in their mid-twenties now, thought I was in my early thirties, too, but I’m in my mid-forties.
Nice to be able to spend time with your son and extended family members. Like Steph I always think of you as being in your 20s/30s, so you must have been a child bride! HAHA It’s hard as they get older and want to do more with friends than family, so it’s great you have your own things like school. Best of luck this semester.
LOL Elizabeth, I promise I wasn’t a child bride 😀 Thanks for stopping by!
Happy birthday to your son! I hope he’s had / is having a wonderful birthday.
How wonderful that you’re enjoying your classes – it’s so important to love what you do, so I’m really happy for you Lexxie!
He had a great birthday, Deb 🙂 My classes this semester are so interesting, and I’m very happy about that, since I really want to finish my MA.
Happy bday to your son! Glad you got time t ospend with family…
Have a nice weekend.
Thanks, Greg 🙂 It’s always nice to hang out with close friends and family.
I still remember that feeling, the first few weeks back to studying after a while off are always the hardest. I am glad to hear your classses sounds interesting, that hopefully makes it a bit easier to fall back into the studying rhythm. Congrats on child #2 being 18! Sounds like you had a fun dinner. I hope you have a great week!
Yeah, getting back into the mode of studying is hard, but it’s also good.
That’s a special birthday! Congratulations to your son. My son turns 21 this year. He acts like it’s no big deal, but I know better. LOL
LOL, they do enjoy acting like it’s no big deal… good for them that we’re able to see through that.
Wow 18, half my age!!!!! Seriously I hope he has a fantastic day and you all too!
LOL Heather. It makes me feel ‘old-ish’ (but just a little bit) to have kids who are legally adults!
Man, I do not miss those days – always studying or having homework. Best of luck to you!!
I actually enjoy studying, Lyn, but I would also really like to finish and become a teacher now…
Congrats on the 18th birthday! My two granddaughters both turned 18 this year. They are like “twin cousins,” both with birthdays days apart.
Enjoy your week…your books are new to me. I’ve been meaning to check out Libba Bray’s books.
Here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES
18 is an important age – time to start voting and paying taxes 😉
I think you’ll enjoy Bray’s books, Laurel-Rain.
Happy birthday to your son! My daughter turned 18 on the 13th. My oldest son turned 30 in July. I am not old enough to have a kid that old. lol Time flies, for sure.
Thanks 🙂 LOL, I keep thinking the same thing, however, apparently, I’m very wrong 😀
It’s so nice meeting another mommy blogger! Even though your children are way older than my little one, (my little monster is 3, and don’t they grow so damn fast) it’s nice to have something in common other than books! I haven’t been to your blog in FOREVER, so I’ll be be, you know, stalking some of your posts now lol.
Happy birthday to your son! I’ve thought about going back to school for my master’s but just the idea of studying again makes me hesitate. I don’t think I remember how! Have a great week!
Lol that comic is great! And so true. I struggled with writing a review last week.
Happy Birthday to your son! It’s always difficult to get into the routine of school again, I agree, but hopefully it feels more natural soon. 🙂
Oh happy birthday!
Hope you’re able to get back into routine quickly and good luck with your classes this semester.
My kids are a little younger than that… Jordan just turned 10.
Have a great week!
Naomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace
oh goodness, first week of classes and running a blog, i can see being overwhelmed
Happy Birthday to your son! My birthday was Saturday.
I hope you’re settling into the new routine, Lex. I know how hard it is just to have the kids go back to school…I’d imagine it’s doubly so when it’s YOU. 🙂 I’m glad #2 had a great birthday. Jax had a good one as well. We had dinner and pie at home! Miss you! **BIG HUGS**
