Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts #5

Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes…  If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.

The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.

This week, my food-stuff is from Clutch that I also reviewed today. I loved Junco, and she’s so focused on her mission and on surviving she actually forgets to eat sometimes!

He throws me a packet of food. It’s a military ration, so I don’t get too excited. “It’s blueberry pancakes, your favorite.” I smile a little because he remembers, then open the ration and squeeze it into my mouth until the  packet is flat. I wash it down with water.

I crawl over to it and sink into the surprisingly soft and buoyant blankets, watching him as he prepares some sort of food. “What’s that?” “Nutrition,” is all he comes back with. I yawn. “Doesn’t look very good.” “Then don’t eat it.” “I won’t, believe me.” And then my eyes close and I drift off.

Thanks for stopping by today, I can’t wait to see what kind of food or drink you’re sharing today, and whether it’s yummy or gross 😉

    • LOL, yes at least he remembered her favorite 😀 That’s not too bad, right? I look forward to more Junco, too. I just really wish I had more time to read these days! *BIG HUGS*

Ewwww…. See this is yet another reason I don’t belong in the military! I like food. Don’t give me a blueberry muffin packet – I want the real thing. Not that the rations and extreme lifestyle wouldn’t be extremely good for my plus-size figure. 😛

  2. LOL this actually made me laugh Christy! I’m a huge food girl. If someone gave me food as a present, i’d gladly accept it. Food packets, bluberry muffins packets are NOT my thing and go against my food morals.
