Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts#2
Welcome to Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts, an original weekly meme hosted here at (un)Conventional Bookviews. So many of the books I read have food or drinks in them, some I’d love to try, and others I’d never ever want to taste… and I thought it could be interesting and fun to share some food and / or drink quotes… If you want to participate, you can grab my logo if you’d like, or you can make your own, but please link back to me in your own post.
The idea of Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts is to share a quote with food or drinks that showed up in a recent read, as well as if it’s something you think you’d like or not. Please share the title of the book it happened in, as well as the character who ate or drank the special little something you discovered between the pages of a good read. Please link up beneath, and visit other bloggers who are participating in Thirsty Thursday and Hungry Hearts as well.
This week, I’m sharing something my hungry heart would never want to eat!! And it’s also something from Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series. Sometimes, to get amped up and ready for a big fight, Mac will eat Unseelie flesh, and that just totally makes me go EW!
[…] to rummage around in the pocket of my jacket for a bottle of Unseelie flesh, neatly sliced and diced months ago. I keep them hidden all over the bookstore. I’ll take very advantage I can get right now. […] Biting back revulsion, I gingerly work the lid free and ease the wriggling contents into my mouth. My body stiffens as it hits me like a thunderbolt.
Mac is definitely a much stronger woman than I am, there’s no way I could do that – even if the world depended on me!
What about you? Do you have something delicious or something disgusting to share today?

unseelie flesh…yum
LOL I know, right? Thanks for stopping by, Lily 🙂
OK, I just totally lost my appetite, lol !
I hope you didn’t read this post on your lunch-break, then, Iza!!
ZOMG…I totally remember that part of the book!!! Such a great series too!!! Mac…such a fierce heroine!! Anyway, I don’t have a quote come to mind but when I read The Bronze Horseman, there’s a passage some where in the book when Tatiana had to eat bread-like saw dust because they no food. Me? I would starve. Couldn’t do it! Fantastic meme! 😉
I love Mac, too, Cristina 🙂 Bread-like saw dust doesn’t really appeal much more to me than the unseelie flesh 🙁
Thanks for stopping by!

Oh how ingenious! I will take note of this meme and sign up when I come across one. I have one particular series in mind that made me hungry, I’ll have to unearth it and find the quotes.
I look forward to seeing your quotes, Braine! Some of those food quotes are so amazing it makes me want to cook!
I can remember those scenes and I always thought it was disgusting how Mac could eat those things. I don’t even eat meat, but I can’t imaging eating something that still moves in your mouth, gross!
Yeah, I do eat meat, but it’s not still alive when I do… Thanks for stopping by, Lola.
Yummy… lol! I actually re-read Faefever and finished today. There was a scene with unseelie flesh towards the end. I had to think about that even before I saw this quote. Funny. 😀 But yep, Mac is definitely bad ass for being able to do that. I don’t think I could ever eat unseelie flesh. Yuck.
haha Stephanie. There are several scenes in which Mac eats unseelie flesh to get stronger, and each time I just went *ew*.
Ayayay. I just had breakfast!
oh, sorry about that, Goldie!!

Hmm, I may stop by frequently and read that passage anytime I feel the need to eat something that isn’t good for me..lol
That’s actually a great idea, Kim! I need to do the same thing 😉
Ohhh my sounds totally unappetising but weirdly enough makes me want to read the book hahhaha. Too curious for my own good!
This whole series is really great, Shan, but make sure you start at the beginning!! There are just so many great scenes, snarky humor, fights, romance, friendship and various paranormal creatures 🙂
Have a fantastic Friday.
Oh that made me shudder, Lexxie! I can’t imagine eating Unseelie either BUT I’d probably consider it if it meant saving my kids. 😉 Nah! Too gross!!! And it squirms!
I can’t think of anything food off the top of my head…I’ll get back to you. 🙂 *hugs*
LOL, definitely too gross, Brandee! And stuff we eat definitely shouldn’t be squirming, still :O
*BIG HUGS*
