Top Ten Tuesday #19 – Top Ten Secondary Characters

This week on Top Ten Tuesday we are discussing secondary characters who are truly amazing. I have linked to the books these characters appear in, in case you want to know more about them as well. And you should totally check out my Sidekick Showcase posts, since that weekly meme is truly about the secondary characters, every week, and each week, the sidekicks highlighted have a theme.

Top Ten Tuesdays is a fun meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we share our excitement for books, and I really like how this meme makes me think about the books I read, why I read them, and who to recommend my favorite reads to. So, here we go :
As usual, my list is in no particular order :

Jenks from The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. Jenks is a pixie, and he has a big mouth, and an even bigger heart. He saves Rachel more times than I can count, and he is always there to help her out.

Justus from Dannika Dark’s Mageri series. He is Silver’s mentor, and he is often a little distant and cold, however, as the series progresses, so does Justus, and when he reveals himself, he is even more awesome than he appears in the beginning of the series.

Eve from the Morganville Vampires by Rachel Caine. She is Clare’s best friend, a Gothic chick with a kick-ass attitude, and the best friend any character can have. I love her!

Regina from Jeri Smith-Ready’s WVMP Radio series. Regina is a vampire who tries to play it cool, and pretends she doesn’t really care about her friends, but she does, and she has some of the funniest lines.

Finn from Suzanne McLeod’s Spellcrackers.com series. He is a satyr, gorgeous and fun, with an edge, and he would love to be with Genevieve, even if it’s not always for the right reasons.

Pam from Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris because she is so sure of herself, extremely loyal and knows how to play the game.

Murphy from Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files series, because she knows how to fight, she is loyal, always honest (brutally so sometimes) and she will always have her friends’ backs.

Kenzie from Julie Kagawa’s The Iron Fey series. She is fierce, intelligent, and won’t back down from a challenge she thinks she needs to be a part of. She is human in a world of fey, and she has to be very smart to make it.

Thomas from The Testing by Joelle Charbonneau, because he was the only character worthy of Cia’s trust, both smart and a good guy, with lots of resources to make sure survival and university was at the end of the endless days of testing.

Julia from Colleen Hoover’s Slammed, because I wish there were more parents like her in the books I read, she is able to give excellent advice, and makes sure she hides her own suffering so her children can continue on their paths.

I have also reviewed all of this books right here on (un)Conventional Bookviews if you’re curious. The links provided above will take you to the Goodreads page of each series or book.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a terrific Tuesday, and happy reading.

    • I never managed to get my hands on the TV series, Stormi, and in a way, maybe that’s just as well ๐Ÿ™‚ I usually do not enjoy adaptations of my favorite books.

You have read tons of books I have never read, though, so you shouldn’t be sad about it *hugs*

      Thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Jens is totally awesome ๐Ÿ™‚ I loved the short story from his point of view he has such a great sense of humor, but he can still get the job done ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Lee

You’ve listed a ton of series I need to start! But I do love Pam from Sookie Stackhouse! Great choice.

    • Pam is a lot of fun, and she’s a character I’m going to miss now that there won’t be any more new books.

      Thanks for stopping by Lee.

    • Oh, you should definitely read the Iron Fey spin-off, it’s made of awsome – but then, so is the woman writing those books ๐Ÿ™‚

YAY Jenks. He’s so great and.

      Thanks for stopping by Carmen.

    • I agree, Pam is one of those characters who evolved in a great direction between the book and the TV show.

Thanks for stopping by Bekka ๐Ÿ™‚

    • LOL Fi, I could have continued for quite a while today, but I decided to be good for once and stop at ten ๐Ÿ™‚

      thanks for stopping by!

    • Pam is great, I would read a spin-off series from the Sookie books if Pam was in them ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thanks for stopping by Ula.

  2. I haven’t read the Morganville Vampire series for a few years but HOW COULD I HAVE FORGOTTEN EVE!!! I love her, she’s a great character!

Oh Pam! I remember more of Pam from the TV show than the books but still, a really dynamic character!

Great list! Thanks for stopping by ours earlier! Have a great Tuesday ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Pam is fun both on the TV show and in the book in my opinion, and Eve is made of awesome ๐Ÿ™‚

      Thanks for stopping by Rachelia.

  3. I have been wanting to join Top Ten Tuesdays but I still doubt if it would work for me.

I haven’t heard about all the books you’ve mentioned but based from what I’ve read, I’d probably root for Justus. Seemingly aloof and cold boys make me swoon. Whew!

    • Oh, then you really need to check out the first book in the Mageri series, Charlotte! He’s not exactly a boy, though ๐Ÿ˜‰ he’s all man!

I don’t participate in the Top Ten Tuesday every single week, because I don’t always feel inspired, so when I don’t feel like it, I post a Teaser Tuesday instead.

      Thanks for stopping by, Charlotte.

      • Then you make me swoon more. I thought that the novel is Y/A so I readily assumed that he’s a boy because most heroes in Y/A behave like one. Hahah. Sorry, it’s just that I’m crazy about Y/A these days. >,<

I like the synopsis of the book. As soon as I'm halfway done with my TBR pile, I'm going to buy it. ๐Ÿ˜€

        Thanks, Lexxie.
