Top Ten Tuesday #2 – Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Bringing Me

Posted 4 December, 2012 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Reviews / 0 Comments

Christmas will be here in just a few short weeks, and I think it’s great that even grown-ups can wish for things to get from him on Christmas Day 🙂 Top Ten Tuesdays is a fun meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we share our excitement for books – either upcoming books as in last week’s Top 2013 releases I’m pining for, or it can be books that have been on our wish-lists for a while. So without further ado: the Top Ten books I’m most hoping Santa will bring me:

1) A Night to Surrender (Spindle Cove #1) by Tessa Dare. I love a good historical romance, and Tessa Dare usually delivers the goods!

2) Reckoning (Night Huntress – Complete World #0.5) by Jeanine Frost. I love everything that has to do with the Night Huntress world, and even a short story will hold me over until the next novel comes out. This is PNR on it’s best in my opinion, it has the excitement of vampires with a little twist, and the story of Cat and Bones is just great – I love a series with no love triangles!

3) The Missing (The FBI Psycics #1) by Shiloh Walker. I recently discovered this author, and I loved the book Stolen, so I want to see what else she has written that I might like.

4) When Summer Comes (Whiskey Creek #3) by Brenda Novak. This contemporary romance series is really well done, with a big group of friends who one, after the other, find their HEA – after some trouble, of course.

5) Ill Wind (The Weather Warden #1) by Rachel Caine. I love the Morganville Vampire series by the same author, and I love the way she writes a strong female protagonist. This series seems to be some sort of paranormal / UF mix that is high up on my list of favorites.

6) Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson. I have read so many good reviews about this book and so it peaked my interest. It’s a re-written Peter Pan and Tiger Lily story, and those can sometimes be very good. Who doesn’t love a good fairytale?

7) Targets of Affection by Roxanne Snopek. I recently ‘discovered’ Ms. Snopek, and I loved her Three River Ranch so much that I want to read more of her books.

8) Her Ten Year Itch by Emma Kaufmann. Normally, I don’t like stories where there is cheating involved, but the blurb for this one is so outrageous that I think it would really be too bad to miss out on the incredible situations the heroine will find herself in due to her itching…

9) Heather Has Two Mommies by Lesléa Newman. Every year, during banned-books week, I browse the books that are being banned for one reason or another. This one caught my eye, and I would love it if Santa brought it to me.

10) Shift by Em Bailey. After having so many romance or PNR books on my list, I thought I needed to add a thriller as well, and this one seems to be really, really creepy – in a good, psychological thriller way.

What about you? Which books would you like Santa to bring you? Please do share – I might just have to add a few more to my own list.

  1. I love the Spindle Cove series. The second was my personal favorite. But Dare is just so witty and smart. She was a recent discovery for me and I ate up what was available of this series. And Tiger Lily made my list too…It’s been getting Printz buzz. And it’s a stand alone. So rare in YA these days!

    • I know, it’s really nice to actually have a stand alone. Have your read The Scorpio Races? That’s a stand alone as well.

      • yes! I love Maggie Stiefvater. Scorpio Races was wonderful. Worked great as a stand-alone. But I also think it had me expecting a bit more from Raven Boys…but Raven is just the start of a series, I forgot that while reading and I think I wanted more development from the characters.
