Top Ten Tuesday #25 – Popular Authors I’ve Never Read

This week on Top Ten Tuesday is about the Top Ten Popular Authors I’ve Never Read.  And apparently, there are quite many popular authors I haven’t started reading yet. That just means there are many goodies still out there for me to discover, right?

Top Ten Tuesdays is a fun meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we share our excitement for books, and I really like how this meme makes me think about the books I read, why I read them, and who to recommend my favorite reads to. So, here we go, as usual, my list is in no particular order :

1) J.K. Rowlings *gasp* I know, right? I haven’t actually read any of her books yet, thought I do own all of the Harry Potter books both in French and English, kindle version and paperback.

2) Jennifer L. Armentrout – yup, I have most of her books on my TBR shelf, and I own a couple as well, but I haven’t gotten to any of them yet.

3) L.J. Smith – I also own The Vampire Diaries, but I haven’t opened any of the books, however, I have watched some episodes of the TV show to drool over Ian Somerhalder 😉 Does that count?

4) Camilla Läckberg. I have bought all of the books in her series, too, in Swedish even! But I haven’t read them… Just another one I have to look forward to.

5) Elin Hildebrand is another one where I have added many books to my TBR, but never got around to actually getting and reading any of them for the time being.

6) Jennifer Rardin. Several of my blogger friends love her Jaz Parks series, so I’m pretty sure I’ll enjoy it too. Need. More. Time!

7) Marissa Meyer – although this is almost kind of cheating, because I have actually read the prequel in her Lunar Chronicles series.

8) Katja Millay. I have heard great things about her Sea of Tranquility, however, no reading it yet.

9) Melina Marchetta is another one I have only heard good things about, and whose books I haven’t read.

10) Karina Halle – many of my friends love her books, and I somehow have not read any.

Are there many popular authors you haven’t read yet? Please leave me a link to your Top Ten Tuesday post so I can check it out!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a terrific Tuesday, and happy reading.

  1. SMH – the first two. I really, really hope you read those. I know, I know you have a to-read list that’s unbelievable, but…but…yeah you just really should 😀 Let me throw out there that the Vampire Diaries books and show are not a thing alike, though Ian is most certainly drool worthy! • I know, I know, Jaclyn. But hey, you’ve gotten me to add and read several other authors I hadn’t heard of before, too, so please continue to be patient with me 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • LOL, Nadia 🙂 I know, I know. I’m not sure what I’m waiting for… but it seems that I am.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  2. L.J. Smith was what I was reading when I was 13, lol. I liked The Secret Circle trilogy so much that I re-read it every couple of years, but The Vampire Diaries . . . not my favorite. At least the original books. I haven’t read any of the new ones. The TV series is WAY better (IMO). As for the rest of those, ESPECIALLY Harry Potter, I hope you find the time read them b/c they are REALLY good 😉

    • I actually haven’t heard of The Secret Circle trilogy 😀 And I know I need to get to HP, but you know… time.

Thanks for stopping by, Jessica. And sorry for ignoring your Undead Pool review, it’s only because I’m reading that next, and I don’t want to know a single thing in advance!

    • Haha Leah! I know, every time I mention I haven’t read HP yet, I get that reaction. But just imagine the joy I’ll have when I finally sit down with those books and devour them.

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • That’s exactly the problem, Liesel. Too many amazing authors, and not enough time to enjoy their books.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  3. There are a lot of popular authors I haven’t read. There a some on your list I haven’t even heard off! I would say popular authors I haven’t read are Laurell K. Hamilton (Anita Blake Series), Clive Barker (he is a horror novelist and I love horror and heard a lot about him),Jim Butcher (I really want to read this series and I have a couple of them.) There are so many authors and not enough time to read..ugh. 🙂

Hope you grab one of those authors you listed and give their books a read. Maybe we need a clean out the books you have hung on to forever month..lol 🙂

    • I have only read the first Anita Blake book, oh, and I have read everything I’ve been able to get my hands on by Jim Butcher! He is truly awesome 🙂

      Yeah, I should totally make myself a clear-out-the-cobwebs-from-your-kindle-challenge 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by, Stormi.

  4. Hahaha! Now I have back up on getting you to open your HP! With regards to JLA…apparently the Lux series is different than the Covenant series. Gusiali Jackie loved the Lux series; GUSIALI Pam loved the Covenant series but couldn’t get into Lux. I have a feeling you’ll like both. LJSmith…books as close to TV series and Southern Vamps is to True Blood (i.e. completely different with the exception of a few names and themes here and there). I stopped reading after the initial trilogy.

Personally, I don’t think there are any popular authors that I feel that I am missing. Though I have a friend who is begging me to get into Debbie Macomber and Fern Michaels.

    • LOL Xyra, I knew you would be happy about this 🙂 I have had the Vampire Diaries books on my kindle for a very long time. And I only watched a few episodes of the TV show because I could watch Ian Somerhalder do nothing at all 😉

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • I’m pretty sure I’m going to be a fan, too. Braine. Her books seem to be very captivating!

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • I actually even have the first three in audio-book (French version) for my dyslexic son. So yeah, I know I’ll sit down and enjoy them one day 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by, Pamela.

  5. -k

And here I was thinking I was bad for not reading the LAST Harry Potter… But to have not read ANY of them!?! FOR SHAME!!! 😉

That being said, jump onto the Lunar Chronicles bus ASAP. Actually, no. Wait until Winter comes out next year AND THEN jump on the bus. That way you won’t be left waiting and wanting like the rest of us. In the mean time, read HP and JLA and LJS.

    • LOL, thanks for the tips, -k 🙂 I wish there was a way I could absorb books even if I do love sitting down to read them. There just isn’t enough time for all the awesome books.

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • It’s actually a little bit nice to know that when I do sit down with HP, I will be able to read all the books one after the other, without having to wait for the next one to be released.

      Thanks for stopping by, Jenn.

  6. I haven’t read any of these authors either, with the exception of Jennifer L. Armentrout, and Katja Millay! Lexx, you need to read those two authors!!!! The Sea of Tranquility is one of my favorite books of all time, and JLA is awesome!!!! Please, read TSoT A.S.A.P! You will thank me later 🙂

    • *gasp* you haven’t read HP either, Lindy? I’m so happy Lyn and I aren’t the only ones 😀

I hope to find the time to read all of these one day, though, and I’ll let you know what I thought once I do.

      Thanks for stopping by, Lindy.

  7. I’m still gasping over JK Rowling, lol. When do you think you might read the series? I only read the entire series back in 2011, so that wasn’t too long ago. It was nice not having to wait for each book to come out ’cause I’m impatient like that. 😉

I’m with ya on the other authors. I haven’t read them yet either. For shame! lol

Love your new blog button! I updated it on my blog. 🙂

    • I have no idea when I’ll sit down to read Harry Potter, Jennifer. It is nice to know you read it later than other bloggers, too, though. I know I’m going to be happy to be able to just read on, so that will be an added bonus.

Thanks for stopping by, and for adding my new blog button 😀

  8. haha oh yeah I remember you mentioning you’d never read JKR before. I hope you do read the HP series eventually, but that you’re really feeling it when you do. I wouldn’t want to hype to ruin your experience XD I am a little surprised that you’ve never read JLA though! I picture her stuff being right up your alley 🙂 Oh and I hope you continue with the Lunar Chronicles books, they’re quite enjoyable!

I haven’t read any of the other authors you listed here either. Though I *do* think tuning in to drool over Ian Somerhalder *should* count for something 😉 Awesome list Lexxie ^^
