15 Day Book Blogger Challenge – Day 5 – Recommend a tear-jerker
This great book blogger challenge is hosted by April @Good Books and Good Wine , and I really have to thank April for this excellent idea. There’s a link-up at April’s blog if you want to participate as well π
Ok, so I do have a tear-jerker or more to recommend, I could probably recommend lots and lots. I don’t know why, but when a book manages to completely touch my heart, and all of my emotions, I feel like I’ve read a really great book! The last excellent tear-jerker I read that I truly loved was Ten Tiny Breaths by K. A. Tucker. Kacey just touched all of my heart-strings. She had been through a really traumatic experience, kind of survived, then acted out in the worst ways before finally starting to really live and trust again… And my did I cry!
Other books that really touched me and had me tear up are Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover, Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi and Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry. I see a theme here, as all these books are New Adult. I don’t know why, but the New Adults I’ve read have been really good, as well as a true tear-jerker.
What are your tear-jerker recommendations?
Thanks for stopping by – have a fantastic Friday and happy reading.
I have Ten Tiny Breaths on my Kindle although I’ve yet to read it. After reading your post today I don’t know whether to feel excitement or dread given that it reduced you to tears π I love that it was able to evoke such a powerful response but I tend to avoid books that can prove emotionally devastating (i.e. The reason I’ve yet to read Morgan Matson’s Second Chance Summer despite the fact I know I’ll probably end up loving it) All joking aside, I’m really looking forward to reading this one! π I’ve heard so many wonderful things about it.
But the story is so powerful! And if you know in advance there might be crying at least you will be forewarned, Jen π I hope you’ll give it a try, it’s a truly awesome story.

So you probably know that I had no tear jerker books to recommend so I recommended they come check out your site as I new you would have a tear jerker or two to recommend…LOL I was right!
LOL Stormi π that’s really too funny. Not a big fan of crying while reading, are you?

LOL, no I am not! π I don’t even like movies that make my cry and I avoid watching Nicholas Sparks movies even when they look really good!
I can understand you, but I really don’t feel the same way π

It’s the Tomboy in me, I don’t like to cry and don’t like to cry in front of people. π
I am curious what part of Shatter Me made you cry???
I don’t thinks there’s anything specific and I didn’t exactly cry, but I did tear up in different places just because Juliette has been through so much ugly in her life, and for a while she didn’t even dare to hope things could ever get better.
Thanks for stopping by Lil π
I have Ten Tiny Breaths on my ereader (is it terrible I can remember which one?!?: π but I have yet to read it. Shatter Me and Losing Hope are the same. But I HAVE read Pushing the Limits and I remember being teary while reading that one. π Tearjerkers for me lately…Running on Empty, Carry Your Heart, Fall from Love, and Losing Francesca! Happy Friday, Lexxie! π
LOL, that’s the problem when you have several, I guess π I hope you’ll find them all. I need to check out Running on Empty and the others… I already added Losing Francesca to my TBR yesterday after reading your review.
Thanks for stopping by π
Have you read Me Before You by Jojo Moyes?
I cried so much reading this one but it’s truly one of the most beautiful books I ever read.
Other one tear jecker, that left me a sobbing mess, was Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma.
No, I haven’t read Me Before You, I’ll check it out. I haven’t read Forbidden either… So many good books!
Thanks for stopping by Joana π

Day 5 Challenge Post
I really loved it, Angelica. It was pretty hard at times, because of everything the MC has been through, but it is beautifully written π
Thanks for stopping by!
I haven’t heard of this one, but it looks good!

It is really good, Nichole!
I have heard you mention this one quite a few times! So glad that you love this one so much, it really does sound like such a great book even though emotional books are ones that I steer clear from. Happy Friday!! Jaclyn @ JC’s Book Haven.
Yeah, I can understand steering away from emotional books, I love me some crying every now and then, though π
Have a wonderful weekend Jaclyn π
Great Pick! This was definitely a tear jerker. I absolutely loved this book. Very emotional!
Yeah, I cried pretty hard there for a while.
Thanks for stopping by Chelsea π
I tend to stay away from tear jerker books but once in a while I do pick one up and like it ! My last tear jerker book which I liked is ‘Me Before You’ by Jojo Moyes. I read it knowing that it was a teary kind but still ended up liking it !
– Gayatri @ Notorious Writer.
You’re the second person who has told me Me Before You is good π I’m adding in to my TBR π
