New Release Challenge 2016 - (un)Conventional Bookviews

The month of March is almost over, and it’s time to share some of those new release reviews, and have a chance to win some GCs in the 1Q New Release Challenge giveaway. It would be nice to see how you’re doing, and if you’re on track and happy with the New Releases you have read so far.

So far in 2016, I have read 26 new releases, which is pretty much on track for me as I have challenged myself to read 100 new releases this year. Most of those books have been very enjoyable, which definitely encourages me to continue, and motivates me to pick up more new releases as well.  One of my favorite new releases was Fighting Dirty by Lori Foster, and another was He Will Be My Ruin by K.A. Tucker. Two very different books, but both were so well written, and kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the whole story!

You can come back to tweet about the challenge giveaway every day for extra entries, and the giveaway is open until April 10th, 2016.

I hope you’ve had fun with the challenge so far, and you’ve all made me add some more books to my own shelves with your reviews. It’s all in good fun, and I enjoy finding new books I think I’ll like.

  1. HI Lexxie,
I am on schedule so far, but can´t post my reviews yet due to some rules German publishers have set for us reviewers here. They don´t want us to publish a review before the book is actually available in stores. So I have to wait with my english reviews not only till the book is actually in stores, but also till the German review I wrote about it, is on that literature portal that asked the publisher so sent me a reviewer´s copy. So sometimes it takes really quite some time between reading, reviewing and the publishing of that review.

      • Good to know. I see what I can do – without risking my privilege here to receive reviewer´s copies *smile*. And the year has still a few months´ left, so I am not to worried about this challenge here 🙂

  2. I managed to read 16 new releases so far, so I am doing great as my goal was 31-45 books per year – New Release Veteran. I am really happy about my progress so far!

My favourite new release so far is probably The Daydreamer Detective by SJ Pajonas. Or A Disguise to Die for by Diane Vallere or Tea with Milk and Murder by H.Y. Hanna, both were two great cozy mysteries. And the fourth Amanda Lester book was great too, arg can’t decide. I had quite some great 4 star new releases so far.

  3. I’ve only read and reviewed 9 so far but I’ve actually read 11 since I beta read 2 which haven’t released yet. It’s kind of a toss-up for me as to my favorite so far but since one of my favs was a novella, I went with the one that was a novel… Getting Rough by CL Parker. (the novella is Unraveled by Jennifer Dawson) You’re doing really well so far, Lexxie! But then, that’s not surprising since you’re a New Release Enthusiast!! 😉

  4. It was really tough picking a favourte! I have so many (including Rock now I’ve read that!). So far I’ve managed to read 25 new releases so it’s going well!

  5. Hello! Long time no talk! I was so happy when I saw your comment on my blog. I must admit that I don’t have much time anymore to visit blogs, but I always comment back. Nice style (even though it didn’t change that much).

I think I read something like 24 new releases this year. I remember last year it was sort of a challenge to read as many as possible, but now I’m picking them more carefully. You’re doing great!

    • I know the feeling, Lola. It is definitely hard sometimes to make the time to visit everyone 🙂
I don’t try to read as many new releases as possible, but since I tend to read quite a few, a challenge to keep me on track is just what I need. And picking carefully is a must!
