Books I Wish - (un)Conventional Bookviews

I’m linking up this post to Kimberly Fay Reads, she has a great count-down list from today and to the new year. I won’t do all of these, but some apply to posts I had already prepared when I first found about this challenge…

Books I Wish I’d Made Time to Read in 2016:

I’m definitely a bad blogger! I have had some of these books on my shelves for over a year, and I am still really excited about them – not sure why I haven’t gotten to them yet, but there you go… it is what it is.

Illuminae - (un)Conventional Bookviews

I have started reading Illuminae, but then I got some ARCs and kind of left this one behind for some reason. Not sure why, as I really loved what I was reading!

Heartless

Heartless by Melissa Meyer – I got an ARC at BEA, and I stood in line forever to get my hands on it. And now, I feel like I’ve been saving it for a rainy day ever since then…

Gemina

Gemina!! I was so excited when I got an ARC at BEA, and as soon as it was released, I also purchased the hard copy… And now both copies are being pretty on my shelves *sighs* and they really are pretty!

The Sun is Also a Star

The Sun is Also a Star, that cover is just gorgeous, and I think I’ll really enjoy the story, too. I just need to crack it open and get going, kind of 😉

Our Chemical Hearts

I got a copy of Our Chemical Hearts at BEA, too. And that cover is so life-like, don’t you think? It looks like those fish are swimming above the title for real.

Maybe once I finish my thesis I’ll cuddle with this one.

Holding Up the Universe

When I read the summary for Holding up the Universe, I knew I wanted to read it. And I still do!

Do you have a lot of books you wish you’d made time for in 2016? Are you participating in this count-down list? Please leave me a link to your post if you do 🙂

Merry Christmas / Happy Hanukkah and happy reading 🙂

  1. I completely forgot about adding Illuminae and a Marissa Meyer story to my list! I also should’ve added the Cinder story as well.

  2. This is a great list Lexxie!!!! I love Illuminae but never got to the 2nd one. It’s on my early 2017 list.
I can’t wait to see the rest of your countdown. I think I’m going to do it too as you have inspired me.

  3. I have a huge list of books I wish I had got to this year especially a few excellent sounding zombie series! I plan a LOT of reading next year and I need to fit in more reading time each day to get it done! Don’t feel bad. On my list are books I’ve had over five years unread!!! It’s shocking…

  4. I am SUCH a bad blogger. I should be ashamed. Really. Thankfully, a good number of the books on my own “wish I’d read them this year” list are ones I purchased. Haha. Heartless made my list. The Sun is Also a Star and Holding Up the Universe should’ve, but they didn’t make the cut.

Thanks for participating! I can’t wait to see your other lists. 🙂

  5. I have quite some books I had wish I had read this year, but I’ve had the problem recently of being in the mood for too many books, so everything sounds good and I want to read them right now. I did set a goal for 10 books I hoped to read this year and only didn’t read one of them, so I am happy about that.

I hope you get around to reading these all next year, it’s good you’re still excited about them.

  6. There’s still time! 😉 You should binge-read the Illuminae series, especially since there is only one book to go! I loved The first two (though I definitely liked the first book better). Heartless was awesome. I have Our Chemical Hearts but I’m not sure I’ll ever read it (not my thing). :/ I really hope you read/love all of these, Lexxie!

    Happy holidays. =)
