Bought, Bagged and Wrapping it Up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Talk Supe and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #162 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #112

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Without further ado, here’s what I bought, borrowed or bagged this past week:

The Sunday Post #112 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

Oh my, I had a LOT of work this week, and it’s been a long time since I was this happy for the weekend! Of course, December will probably be pretty quiet when it comes to work, as most schools schedule finals now, and then around the finals, it’s pretty calm most of the time…

My Kindle Oasis that I bought last summer went and froze on me completely. It stays on the tree of life page, and nothing works. I can’t even do a hard restart by holding down the start button for 40 seconds 🙁 Good thing I have another kindle (or two…) so I can still read! The thing is, though, I bought that kindle when I was in Spain, so I have to deal with them about a possible repair / refund / replacement – fun times!

On Monday and Tuesday next week, Mr. Lex and I are going to Amsterdam 🙂 Just the two of us!! He’s going to practice his speed-skating in the mornings, then we’ll sight-see in the afternoons. It’s only an hour and a half by plane from Geneva to Amsterdam, and we got really cheap flights. I can’t wait 🙂

ETA: Some of you know that my oldest daughter is an artist, and she has a Society6 store – there is 20% off and free worldwide shipping this weekend only : Elinn’s Art.

This Week’s Freddy in Action:

  1. Aw sorry to hear about the Oasis… that sucks. At least you have backups. Still, no fun. And have fun in Amsterdam! Cute Freddy pics, as usual. He looks so chill lol.

    Hope your weekend is nice.

    • I can’t wait to visit a bookstore that is in a pretty building, Maureen! I know my husband will be in Haarlem both mornings to go skating, so I will have time to browse and just check things out on my own then 🙂
      Thanks for stopping by!

  2. *waves to Freddy* There is nothing worse than when the ereader goes haywire. My first Kobo developed a fault after 6 months so I got it replaced and it’s been ok other than a few quirks for about 3 years now. I’m still on my first Kindle and I can’t afford to replace it so I hope to get long life from it!

    • I could get mine replaced, I guess, but I think I prefer the money back right now… I might try to get my hands on a new Oasis next year depending on if the price goes down or not…
My older kindle works fine, I just couldn’t resist getting one with a lot more battery time 🙂

  3. OOh nice new reads! All totally new to me ones! Hope you enjoy them all!

Bummer about the kindle! Especially since you bought it elsewhere. Hopefully they can help you out, but at least you got a back up! And as always, Freddy is just adorable!!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  4. I like the description of The Way We Fall, so I went ahead and got it for my Kindle. I really love Amsterdam (have you been there before?), we went one year in April and it was joyous. Just walking around the parks was stunning. This time of year, you can stay indoors and go to one of the many amazing museums. Have a fantastic time.

  5. Enjoy your Amsterdam visit! And a quiet December sounds nice – you’ll be keen for the down-time given you’re always so busy with work AND study.

People are starting to get into holiday mode here too!

  6. Amsterdam! Puppy! Instagram account! The only thing not to love in this post is your Kindle update. :/ That’s so cool that Carina Press sent an email full of books. I loved Julianna Keyes’ books published with Carina Press. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

Have a fabulous week, Lexxie. 🙂

    Check out my STS post!

  7. How annoying about the Kindle – that’s not supposed to happen! Other than that, you’ve have another great week and I love the pics of Freddy. How lovely to have a week-end away to look forward to in the middle of the Christmas preparations. I’m probably going to sign up for the 2017 New Release Challenge – nothing major and it will be alongside my NetGalley reads to ensure that I actually read and review them all! But I think it’s a really good idea:). Have a great week.

  8. That sucks about your Oasis! What a bummer! At least you have back up(s)! If my kindle died I would have to go back to reading on my iPad which I hated because of the glare. But, at least I could still read! Enjoy your awesome book haul!

  9. I’ve had problems with one of our Kindles, too! Like, can’t type on the keyboard so it’s un-usable, trouble. I can’t imagine having to deal with another country’s customer service to get yours fixed – it’s NOT that old!!!!!! I won’t buy another Kindle again. Like you, I do have multiple versions around the house, though.

You got a ton of books, my dear!! You are so screwed for COYER… o.O

Have an awesome time in Amsterdam!!! What a great break!!!

  10. When I first saw Kimba post about the Kindle Oasis I really wanted one. I hope you can easily and quickly get yours resolved with Spain’s CS. Have fun in Amsterdam!

  11. Sorry to hear about your Kindle but it is good you have a back up. I love my Nook but it is getting old and I notice I have to charge the battery more often than usual. I’m thinking of getting a Kindle or getting an iPad. Maybe Santa will surprise me with one of these at Christmas lol. I hope you have a great time in Amsterdam. Have a great week!

  12. I’m sorry to hear about your Kindle, that is a bummer. Although, it is lucky that you have a back-up. I had been having some issues with my paperwhite freezing, fortunately the screen was just a little dirty and was effecting the touchscreen — that will teach me to eat while I read. Have a great time in Amsterdam, it sounds fantastic!

  13. Have a great trip with your husband. It is always nice to get away. Sorry about the Kindle, glad you have a back-up. Happy reading.

  14. I hope you’re enjoying your trip so far!!! It’s wonderful you’re getting to get away with Mr. Lex, just the two of you. 😉 I can’t wait to see photos. And hopefully we’ll be able to chat later this week and get caught up. You hauled in some great looking books this week. I admit I might be a little “green”. *grins*
That’s terrible about your Kindle…I’ve not heard of this happening. Have you? I’m sorry for the hassle it might be but I’m very happy you have a backup…or two. 😉
    MISS YOU!! *BIG HUGS*

  15. You went to Amsterdam? You must have been so close to me! Hehehee :3 And I am glad things will be winding down for you soon! It’s a shame about your Kindle freezing, but great that you can still read on back ups. I can’t imagine having more than one kindle, but if that’s your main way of reading then it makes sense!

    • Yes, we did go to Amsterdam, but only two days. I didn’t even think of the fat that you live close to the city, Olivia. If I go back, I’ll let you know.
I got my first kindle way back when they were first released – and it’s both a bit big and quite heavy. And I don’t have all that much room in it. I let my children use my ‘older’ kindles now, so I had to go bribe my oldest daughter to get one back for a while D:
