My freebie Kindle First for December – to be released in January 2017
From my Waterstones visit in Amsterdam, I got : The Spy by Paulo Coelho, Virgins by Diana Gabaldon, Paris for One by Jojo Moyes and The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. That Shakespeare edition was too beautiful to pass on.
The Sunday Post #113 – Wrapping it Up
Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.
On Monday and Tuesday, Mr. Lex and I were in Amsterdam, and we had a fantastic time! On Monday morning, we arrived in the city around 9:30, and went straight to our hotel which was smack in the center. Then, Mr. Lex went skating (he’s a speedskater) while I went for a stroll in the shopping district, and to the Banksy exposition. After lunch, Mr. Lex came back and we went exploring together. On Tuesday, I went with him to the skating rink, and it was so nice! Loads of people were out there skating in the morning sun, and it made me long for my own skates. Of course, I found the Waterstone’s Maureen told me about last week, and I left there with four new books – impossible to buy no books, that’s for sure.
I have also advanced nicely on my thesis, I sent 24 new pages to my mentor this week, and while I haven’t heard back from her yet, I am happy with my progress.

Sounds like you had a really great time in Amsterdam! I’ve had a serious case of wanderlust lately. I REALLY want to go somewhere new. It’s been quite a while since my husband and I really got a vacation. I always think of traveling when it starts to get cold around here. lol! I’m a warm sunny beach type of girl. haha

Oooh nice haul!! I’m checking my email daily hoping Galley and Netgalley approved me for The Turn! Haven’t gotten the “no” email yet, so I remain hopeful! LOL! I know I’ve reviewed Kim’s books before either on Netgalley or Edelweiss, so I hope they remember that! LOL!
Glad to hear you had a good trip! I long to see this Waterstones! But alas, I don’t know if I will ever get back to overseas. I did renew my passport this year so I’m good for another decade! We shall see! And as always Freddy is just adorable! I love his adventures!! LOL!

It does, doesn’t it? I loved Firstlife, and I really want to know what will happen next. Shakespeare *sighs* I just love how he was able to write place that are still kind of touching on current affairs today. And his sonnets are beautiful.
Freddie looks like he keeps you very busy. You got some interesting books this week. I hope you love all of your new books.

Amsterdam was amazing, Greg! And a Waterstones is like its own tourist attraction 😀 No snow here, but it is fairly cold, and we have a low fog, so it’s darkish 🙁

LOL Kristin 😀 When we met, he played hockey, so I guess speed skating was a natural progression for him 😀 I grew up skating a lot, too, but without any kind of competition attached to it.

It was a fun trip, Anna! And I wish I could come and skate with you 🙂 If you have ever rollerskated or skied, you will find the same kinds of sensation when skating 🙂 And if you haven’t done either, I guess watching some youtube videos of skating for beginners will be good 😀

Glad to see you had such a brilliant time in Amsterdam! Skating is really popular here when it comes to wintertime, so I think it must have been pretty busy with quite a few people out and about on the ice. I hope you liked the Banksy exhibition as well ^.^
Yeah, I was sad I hadn’t brought my own skates! It was so nice; the sun was shining, it was quiet, and people were skating and having a great time 🙂 The Banksy exhibition was awesome! I love how he points out the flaws in our society!
