Bought, Bagged and Wrapping it Up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Talk Supe and Caffeinated Reviewer.

Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. The Sunday Post #143 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This week has been a bit like an emotional rollercoaster for me… First, my exciting news from last week didn’t pan out. Like at all 🙁 Even after I first received a written confirmation something came up that made it impossible, and I was quite disappointed to be honest. As you can see above, I kind of overcompensated with lots and lots of new books.

Also, on Monday, my sister and her kids left. While it’s nice and quiet here now, it was also very sad to say goodbye. Especially because we don’t live in the same country, and don’t really know when we’ll see each other next. We did make some great new memories this summer though.

This week’s Freddy in action:

We went on some amazing hikes this week, and Freddy loved it! Even if he was extremely tired afterwards 😉

  1. Oh no, so sorry the exciting news didn’t pan out. 🙁 I’m Glad you got to spend some time with your sister and of course Freddy is as adorable as ever. You got a great haul! I am getting the Vanessa Kelly one on audio and can’t wait! 🙂

  2. Oh no! I’m so sorry that your news didn’t work out. 🙁 It’s great you were able to spend time with your sister and her kids, but it’s never fun when they then have to leave.

I hope you have a great upcoming week!!!

  3. Yay for the hikes, boo for the disappointing news. 🙁 Books are good therapy though. Hope your weekend is a good one… and hopefully it won’t be too long before you get to see your sister again. It’s hard to part after spending time with family.

Hope all your books turn out good. 🙂

  4. I loved Rebecca Zanetti’s other series about the spy brothers. I haven’t tried anything else by her but that series is one of my favorites. Enjoy your new books!

  5. I’m so sorry to hear that your news didn’t pan out. That really sucks. :/ I hope all these new books make you feel all the better and also take your mind off your sadness over your sister leaving.
I so can’t wait to read Mistletoe!
Happy reading and I hope you enjoy every book you got!

  6. Boo for the disappointing news. It’s always a shame to feel let down. Book therapy is the best though, I hope you enjoy your new reads!

  7. Freddy asleep is one of the cutest things ever…I’m running out of words for cute! I’m sorry that things didn’t go your way this week. I fully understand the urge to splurge when things have been disappointing. It’s something I do very well…Lets hope that this week gets a bit better for you and there will always be Freddy cuddles to look forward to! Hope you have a good week.

  8. Oh bummer that the good news didn’t pan out. But yay for new books!! Gilt Hollow sounds like an intriguing read! Actually just started her co-authored Doon series! Liking it so far! Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

  9. So sorry that your exciting news didn’t pan out my friend! Especially after getting it confirmed! *HUGS* I’m glad that you made happy memories with the family, got lots of book to make you feel better AND had some adventures with Freddy – the during hiking pic and then the sleeping pic are just perfect 😀

  10. Oh No! I’m sorry your good news didn’t pan out! That’s so disappointing. 🙁 I’m glad you had a nice visit with your family though. 🙂

  11. Hey Lexxie! It looks like you’ve had a wonderful summer so far. But honestly! A Christmas book!?!? I do have a soft spot for Christmas stories and it IS Jill Shalvis, so I’m going to have to check it out anyways. Enjoy all your books.

  12. I’ve been absent for a couple of weeks Lexxie so missed your potential good news (but will go back and read about it). Sorry to hear it didn’t pan out. Dare I say that these things happen for a reason?!

But… you’re most definitely justified in making up for the disappointment with books! A healthy habit!

  13. Looks like you’ve got some great new ARC’s Lexxie. Love those covers.
Sorry to hear you’re week wasn’t what you hoped it would be. Goodbyes are always hard. Books are definitely always a good thing to get your mind of hard and sad things.
Have a great week and Happy Reading! 😉

  14. That stinks that things didn’t work out. Ha – yeah, going on a book buying binge always helps, though. I love Karina Halle, but I haven’t read Smut yet. Great pictures! Have a nice week, Lexxie.

no worries Lexxie, you know that they say right? sometimes things happen for a reason, and you never know what might be down the road in store for you. You work very hard, so someday you will reach your goal
    *nice books by the day*

  16. I’m sorry your exciting thing didn’t work out 🙁 And it’s always tough saying goodbye when you’re not sure when you’ll see someone again or when you know it’ll be a while. I’m glad you had some fun though, and it definitely looks like Freddy enjoyed it!

  17. It is so hard to say goodbye. I loved seeing my sister last month. I know it will be a long time before I see her and her kids again. I miss them so much. We still talk like 3 or 4 times a week on the phone. I know we can at least do that and it helps.
Sorry to hear you had bad news. I always think about the balance for my life when bad things happen, usually something good is right around the corner. It can’t all be bad all the time. I hope you get great news really soon.
    Happy reading!

    • My sister and I chat often as well – both online and on the phone, and we have a great relationship, so we have a lot to be thankful for.
I know there will be good things, too, Karen, and maybe even this last thing will end up being good for me – you never know, right?

  18. Sorry your prospect melted away – on top of your family leaving, that must have made it even harder:(. When the family leave, the house always feels sad and empty for a while before I once more get lost in my work… Thank goodness you have the companionship of your adorable little dog – what a lovely lot of pics. Hope this week is a lot more positive and take care.

  19. So sorry your news didn’t pan out! I tend to go on book buying binges as therapy as well! Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

  20. Sorry your big news fell through but perhaps another door will open, Lexxie. I imagine Frddy did get dog tires. LOL Such little legs for long hikes! He is just so darned cute. I love that you share him with us every week! And I over compensate with book buying binges when I want to cheer myself up too. You should see the haul I’ll be sharing next week. LOL It was my stress and loneliiness relief:)

    • I know you’re right, another door, or window or something will surely open and I’ll be very happy about it 🙂
LOL, he really loves coming on hikes, though. And since I’m not very fast it’s good for him – get those muscles going for him (and me) is positive.
I look forward to seeing your huge haul, but hope loneliness and stress is not bothering you this week!

  21. I’m really sorry your thing didn’t work out. I can’t wait to read your review of Croc’s Return. I’ve really enjoyed that series. I also really enjoyed Wildest Dreams. I plan to get Golden Dynasty next. I hope you enjoy your quiet time. It can be hard to have your family leave when you don’t know when you will see them again. My mom just left. She lives in Alaska so I don’t know when I will see here again either. Hope you have a great week.

    • I loved Croc’s Return, Melanie 🙂 I need more books in that series. The narration was really well done too. And I find that I love audiobooks when I’m on the beach 🙂
I’m sorry you had to say goodbye last week, too! *hugs*

  22. I’m sorry your news didn’t work out but hopefully something great will come up soon. And I’m for book buying binges as a pick me up! I love the picture of Freddy on his leash. I imagine he does tire out with those little legs! Have a great week!

  23. Sorry your news didn’t work out. 🙁 You got some good books though! Smut is one that I want to read. Aw, sweet Freddy! You need to go visit my Sunday Post in the link below because I have a picture of one of my dachshund “grandpuppies”. 🙂

  24. Weenie!!! I get so excited about your dog pictures every week! XD I almost picked up a copy of Gilt Hollow recently, but didn’t end up reading it. I hope you like it! Have a great week 😀

    • I’m glad I’m not boring everyone with my weekly puppy-pics, Tracy!
I got a review copy of Gilt Hollow after BEA, but it was so difficult to read, because on each page it said ‘REVIEW COPY’ diagonally cross the page… This kindle version doesn’t have that 🙂

  25. My nearest sister lives 4 hours away, I get to see her multiple times a year. My other two sisters live 8 & 22 hours away and I never know when I am going to get to see them either. It’s sad, since my furthest sister had a baby at the beginning of the year and I’ve never gotten to see her.

I hope next week is better for you. I have a very limited budget, so I go on a freebie rampage when I am feeling down.

  26. So sorry that your exciting news didn’t happen the way you hoped it would. It can be so disappointing when you think something is coming together and then it all falls apart – much worse than if it never seemed possible in the first place. I’m glad that you have lots of books and that cute little pup to keep you company, and I hope things look up soon!

  27. Wow that is a lot of books! My sis lives in a different state and I’m always so glad to see her and sad when we say goodbye. We usually only have time to spend one day together as well so it doesn’t feel long enough. I hope you see your sis again soon. Freddy seems like you wore him out on that hike! Too cute 😀 I hope your week is filled with unicorns and glitter.

  28. oh my you got some great goodies here. Kristen Ashley is amazing right? I love her audiobooks, and I always use my credits every month for her books when I can. Rebecca Zanetti and Vanessa Kelly are both entertaining authors to read.
