Bought, Bagged and Wrapping it Up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookviews and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews, Talk Supe and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #151 – Bought Borrowed & Bagged #101

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about the latest additions to your library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  you will be reading soon. Bought Borrowed and Bagged is a homage to to Barron’s Books and Baubles from KMM’ Fever series, and is hosted by Braine over at Talk Supe. Without further ado, here’s what I bought, borrowed or bagged this past week:

A little while ago, Colleen Hoover had a signed book sale on her website, and it was impossible for me to resist – so I purchased ALL her paperbacks for my physical shelf. Even if I already own her books in kindle version and most of them in audio as well… what can I say? I’m a HUGE fan.

The Sunday Post #101 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

We arrived home from NYC on Monday morning, and we were not all that jet-lagged for once. It was, of course, nice to be back home, see the kids and Freddy again, and sleep in our own bed! We had a fantastic time during our romantic getaway, though, and we decided we want to try to make it a yearly thing to go away just the two of us in September.

I finally got a call from a school this week, and will have a few hours of substitute teaching next week. Which is really good, because I was starting to go crazy here, with nothing to do but trying to write my Master’s paper. I’m not completely ready to start writing yet, stuff need to mature in my head a bit more first. I’ve been in touch with my professor, though, and she’s happy with what I’ve started doing.

My oldest daughter has been doing yoga for a little over a year, and this week, I went with her. It felt SO good, so I’m all signed up for yoga class once per week now 🙂

  1. Glad you guys had a great trip! And it’s always nice to be home to afterward. Congrats on the subbing.

    Freddy looks seriously comfortable. 🙂

Signed book sales are nice- I love collecting favorite authors!

  2. Safely home after having a good time is nice. Sounds good about the subbing job and that your paper is pleasing your professor.

Wow, I just want to run my fingers along your CoHo shelf of books. 😉 Looks like you got some other good ones for purchase and review. Seeing the Tara Lain reminds me that I have a few of hers on my shelf needing my attention.

Have fun at yoga and have a good week!

  3. This haul looks great – happy reading and hope you enjoy all of them. I fell in love with the cover of Seven Black Diamonds and it went straight to my wishlist, so thanks for sharing it.
Have a fantastic weekend and a great new week afterwards.

    here is my STS/BBB

    best wishes

    • I’m such a fan of CoHo I wanted even those books that weren’t among my favorites for the release year, Jeann.
Yoga is great, but I have put on some weight around my waist-line, so some of the poses were really hard to do 🙁 I need to work out more so I can get rid of that extra weight, so that yoga will be a bit easer 🙂

  4. Glad you had a great time in NYC! It’s always nice to get back home to your own bed. 🙂 I can see you going stir crazy with just a paper to write and nothing else to do. You seem like someone who likes to be doing things, so glad you got a sub job for a bit. 🙂 Love the Freddy pics as always!!

Also you got a great haul and I am curious about Red Leaves. 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

I remember that Colleen Hoover sale and was tempted! I couldn’t afford it really through, since school has cost so much the past year and half. Hoping that will start to change this year.

Glad y’all had a good time – a yearly romantic getaway sounds awesome. I plan to start yoga once a week next month! I used to do it and loved it, despite sucking lol, so I can’t wait. Id start sooner but once again… Broke! Have a great weekend 🙂 Hugs!

  6. OOh nice! These are pretty much new to me reads! Except for Seven Black Diamonds! Which I still need to read as well! LOL!

Glad your trip went well! And yay for the sub job! That’ll be fun to get out the house and whatnot! Hope all continues to go well with your Masters!

    Happy Reading!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  7. Next time you are in the area we are for sure getting together! I can’t believe you were so close and I couldn’t come see you. That first night in your own bed is always the best feeling. 🙂
I love Freddy! Give him a squeeze for me!

Have a great week my beautiful friend! Happy Reading! Miss YOUR FACE!!! oxoxoxoxo

  8. *waves to Freddy* This week has been non stop DIY with furniture moving and painting. Not much fun and I still have more to do. Ugh! These are the days you wish you had Harry Potter’s magic wand!

  9. Oh, the shelf of CH books looks very tempting. Most of mine are on my Kindle, but I do have a print version of Confess.

Enjoy your week, and thanks for sharing. Hello to Freddy!

  10. The Goldfinch is a really amazing book. It changes direction several times, but that is what makes it interesting. Congrats on getting a weekend away. They can really be a great way to rejuvenate. Have a fun week of subbing!

  11. I am glad you all had a great time in New York and got home safe. I also loved seeing the pictures of Freddy! I own Outside by Michelle Mankin but the rest I don’t have. I did just buy It Ends with Us on eBook and of course I have most of hers on eBook(one on audio). I love Hoover’s books too! Hope the teaching works out well and that you have a good week!

  12. I want to get back into yoga too Lexxie. I used to go and then gained weight and felt uncomfortable, but I’m ready to head back there now / soon.

I’m glad you made it home safely but it’s good you got a little bit of work if you’re starting to feel bored. Hopefully there’s a good balance so you still have time for everything else in your busy life!

  13. Aww Freddy is seriously TOO cute!! I’m glad you had a nice time on your trip, that’s really a sweet thing to be able to do 😀 And wow, that is a lot of Colleen Hoover! It’s great that you were able to get them all signed too, especially since she’s a favorite for you! The You I’ve Never Known sounds really interesting, too! Hope you love the new books, and that you have a fabulous week!

  14. I was also intrigued to see The Goldfinch there… It’s on my list of Books To Get, recommended by a couple of my students. Hope you enjoy all your new additions. It’s always lovely to get away – and I think it’s a great idea to make it regular thing. Hope you enjoy the teaching – I tried substitute teaching for a while, but I simply hated it. I hadn’t realised just how very territorial I’d been about my own classroom until I didn’t have one! Have a great reading week. This is my Sunday Post

  15. Good to hear your trip to NYC was a success. And yay for making a yearly thing. I think that sounds like a great idea!! 😉
I’ve done Yoga for a little while last year.. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it work with my work schedule. But it’s definitely great right?!
I’ve started collecting my Holiday read for this year. I’ve been requesting some books that sound great.
Have a great week and Happy Reading!

I could never get into yoga. I think I get bored too easily or something! Glad you were able to enjoy it so much.
    Have a great week!

  17. That’s great that you’ll get some hours in at work this week. Do you enjoy substitute teaching? My mom didn’t like it very much, but I know people who really love being able to control their hours.

  18. Yoga does sound like a great idea right now! I bet the trip to NYC was so fun, you just missed all the chaos that is happening today with bombs found in NYC. I am glad to hear you are home safe and sound.
Freddy is so cute! He always steals the show in these posts. Have a great week and enjoy your new Yoga class!

  19. How nice for you to have a getaway vacation in my neck of the woods! Hope NYC was kind to you while you were here. 🙂 I love yoga and need to get back into doing it regularly.

  20. Wife, I think you might be spending too much time at Netgalley and Edelweiss. 😉
I don’t begrudge you buying CoHo’s books in paperback though. I too have almost all of her books (maybe all?) in paperback and on ereader. But not all in audio. Hmm, I’ll have to catch up with you. 😉
I’m so happy you and Mr. Lex enjoyed your romantic getaway – and NYC is a perfect locale to enjoy. *sigh*
I hope you’ll have a fantastic week, my dear! And read lots and lots of good books!! *BIG HUGS* <3
