The Sunday Post #106 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

This week had a pretty sporty beginning! On Monday, I taught eight hours – which is a lot when you think of the fact that I don’t really have a job these days 🙂 I have also been very disciplined, and worked for between four and five hours on my thesis every day, so I am starting to see the shape it will have one day.

We’re in Spain this week, as the kids are off from school for a whole week, and we want to lick up the last of the sun before we are completely ready for winter to start. We just arrived late last night, but we wanted to wake up and be close to the beach today, and just smelling the sea is like heaven! I’m glad I have this week off, though, because in November, will be teaching full time, as I’ve gotten a sub contract during a paternity leave.

This Week’s Freddy in Action:

  1. Nice stack of books you got. I read Archangel’s Heart this week and loved it. Oh neat book gift and swag from COYER.

A week of holiday in Spain sounds lovely and glad you got a lot of work done on your thesis so you could enjoy it guilt-free. 🙂

Ah, Freddie looks cute meeting his dog buddy.

    • I can’t wait to get started with Archangel’s Heart, Sophia! I love Raphael and Elena so much. They were my first PNR celebrity crush 😀
A week is very nice, and while I’ll have time to hang out, I think I should also continue working a bit on my thesis. I have quite a way to go, still.

  2. Glad to hear things are going well! Enjoy the mini vacation in Spain!! Just want to continue to wish you good luck on your thesis!

All new to me reads, but I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!

And Freddy is just so cute!! Funny how he knows what’s yours and claims it! Just like a dog! LOL!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower 🙂

  3. I love the cover (and the guy’s hair) of Spell Cat! It looks like a fun book. Have a lovely time in Spain! It’s one of the only countries in Europe I haven’t been to. My friends like there now, so I hope to go in the next few years.

    • The book was fun, Ardis! Gay witch who’s supposed to marry the most powerful female witch…
I hope you’ll be able to visit Spain one day, it’s one of my favorite countries to vacation in – so much so that we have an apartment here now 🙂

  4. Back in Spain? I’m very envious.

Also lots of new books and a great prize!

I hope you enjoy the last of the warmer weather and Freddy doesn’t meet too many eligible Dachshunds!

    • Yeah, whenever we have a week off, we tend to drive down here – it’s just so nice to be close to the sea – that’s an impossibility in Switzerland 😀
The weather is quite nice today, but not really warm enough to lounge on the beach – we shall see if we’ll manage a quick dip later on.

  5. Spell Cat looks interesting, I’m pretty sure I considered taking a review copy of that at some point, but something stopped me. I’ll be curious what you think of it though.

It does sound like you had a rather busy beginning of the week! But at least now you get to relax a bit. And awww, Freddy made a friend! Lol to him having to be inside your jacket.

Holy crap: 4-5 hours of thesis work a day!? Girl I never worked that hard on mine. I can’t even imagine!!!
    Enjoy your books!

  8. I wish we had a little bit of summer left here, it’s moving past fall and into winter. Hope you enjoy your book haul, happy reading!

  9. Enjoy Spain! It’s always lovely to get some late sun before heading in to winter. And I’m impressed that you are so consistent and disciplined with your thesis; that is bound to pay off in the long run. Your new books look good, in particular I love the look of the Karina Halle book. I haven’t read any of her books yet, but I plan to soon, as I know so many book bloggers just rave about her.

  10. Those sales are hard to resist, especially when the book is so cheap. I got two 0.99$ books this week as well.

I also received my Coyer prize from Berls this week, she was really nice to add to some swag to those packages :).

That great you got so much work done on your thesis and it’s starting to take shape. Thesis are a lot of effort and time to write, I can still remember the work that went into my thesis.

Enjoy your week of vacation in Spain! That’s a fun picture of Freddy meeting another Dachshund! And pets always pick the weirdest places to sleep, ofcourse he has to nap in your jacket.

Thanks for linking to my post! I hope you’ll have a great week!

  11. Four to five hours a day on your thesis is remarkable!
I am entirely jealous of the trip to GR headquarters as well. Would love that!
    Freddy is quite handsome, BTW.

  12. I hope you have a great and relaxing time in Spain. Your so right to get to the Sun! I think it will be a very cold winter. It already feeks so much colder here. So getting some sun is definitely a good idea.
Good to hear your thesis is gettin there.. Good luck 😉

  13. I got Fling too! And Veiled should arrive this week! Oh, and I totally one-clicked Harley & Rose – all Naomi’s fault!! LOL I’m also envious of a few others on your list – Newbury and Lain. 😉 Nice haul, wifey. I won’t even comment on…well, you know. 😉 I hope you’ll have a lovely fall break in Spain. I know you will though. Soak up some sun and the sea. It sounds delightful! Thanks for sharing Freddy’s week. He’s so adorable and not a bit spoiled, I’m sure. 😛
I hope we can chat one day this week, wife. I’m missing you and need to be caught up with you. <3 *BIG HUGS* <3
