The Sunday Post #91 – Wrapping it Up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

A week in the sun and spent more on the beach than anywhere else has been heavenly! My oldest daughter joined us on Monday, so my family has been complete, with the addition of my sister and her two children, so it’s been quite crowded as well. The weather has been gorgeous, not too hot, but sunny and blue skies, and we’ve definitely taken full advantage of that! Freddy has settled in nicely here, and enjoys staying inside in the air conditioning while we go to the beach, and then come back quite often to take him out for walks 🙂

  1. I think Freddy has the right idea! Stay inside when it’s hot but still get some walks… ha ha although I’d need a little beach time too. Sounds like you’ve gotten your Spain vacation off to a good start! Glad you’be got some nice weather and family time too.

I think The Operator looks interesting, maybe a suspenseful read?

    • LOL, he does really have the best life, Greg! And he gets a little beach time every now and then in the evening – he’s gone swimming twice 😀 He was so dirty afterwards, though, that I don’t want to make that something we do daily.

  2. I am now jealous of Freddy! Sounds like you are all having a really great time. It’s been raining a lot here so the garden has been abandoned for now. They are promising a coming heatwave but I don’t believe them…Hope you gets lots of reading done and Freddy has a great time!

    • We are having a fantastic time, Chuckles, I love being by the sea 🙂 And I’m getting a lot of books read these days – I don’t have any obligations apart from making sure we have food, so it’s all good 🙂
Freddy loves it here, too, which helps. I wouldn’t be able to stay here all summer if that wasn’t the case.

  3. Freddy is so gorgeous! 🙂 I hope you enjoy your new book additions. I can see many on there that look fabulous! Have a great weekend.

  4. I’m following Freddy’s lead and staying in out of the heat. My mom has been in town all week, so I haven’t been around as much. She flies back home this afternoon. It was fun to spend time with her. This weekend, I must get caught up on my reading. I hope you have a great time with your family.

  5. I’m curious about Seven Days of You. I’ll be looking forward to your review. And omg! Freddy! Such an adorable-looking dog. 🙂
    Have a great weekend, Lexxie!

  6. Adorable Freddy, as usual…he looks good next to those books!

Great new books this week…I am eyeing A Tragic Kind of Wonderful.

My post this week, and for the foreseeable future, is at my Serendipity blog, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  7. I love beach vacations! They’re the absolute best! So glad you’re having a nice time. Hope you’re getting a lot of reading done!

  8. I LOVE the Freddy pics – he is such a cutie and sooooo adorable! Opens my heart every time I see a pic of him. And great haul you´ ve got there. Happy reading and have a great weekend.

    best wishes

  9. I’m freaking excited to read The Operator. I hope it’s as good as The Drafter was. Just got a few other books I have to read first. Le sigh. 😛 And awww Freddie! ♥

    Happy Reading!

  10. Oh Rock Wedding!! I really have to read more of that series, I think I’ve read book 2 but have yet to read the earlier and later books. I’ve really been looking at the new Kim Harrison series to listen on audio but I’m on the fence about it because I still have yet to read the Hollows by her. *Sigh* So many books, so little time.

  11. Fun to have your family all around and lots of time at the beach though I’m not a heat person so I’d probably be holed up with Freddy. 🙂

Enjoy your haul. The Kim Harrison looks intriguing and one of these days I’ll need to start that Nalini Singh rockstar series.

  12. Is Freddy allowed on the beach there Lexxie? Here there are some dog-free beaches and some where they have to be on leads and sometimes leash-free beaches where the dogs can frolic to their heart’s content.

It sounds like a full-on family time there for you. I hope the weather treats you well and it’s not TOO crowded!

    Deb

  13. Ooh, you got Kim’s new book! I can’t wait to get a copy too. Freddy sure is growing up. I love seeing that sweet little face. Sounds like wonderful times with your family. Have a lovely Sunday, Lexxie!

  14. OMG, Lexxie! I didn’t even know The Operator was up yet. I just went and downloaded it. Thank goodness I saw this. <3 I wonder what else I've missed. Aww, Freddy doesn't like the beach? Glad you've had a nice time!

  15. It sounds like you’re having a great time. Sunny and blue skies.. Sounds heavenly!! I hope the weather gets better here too.. I’m in desperate need of reading in the sun!!
Freddie still looks cute and content. I love seeing those pictures of him.
Love your new books. ‘Seven Days of You’ looks amazing.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation! 😉

  16. I am so glad you are having fun and Freddie is enjoying his vacation! 🙂 The weather has been so hot here but this weekend was rainy and cool. We stayed home from the shore house but will try and get down next weekend since the kids want to take another trip to the pool!

Has Freddie been on the beach yet? Does he like it? We never took Dexter because we think he would be scared, he’s a chicken!

Have a great week, Lexxie! I still miss your face so very much! ox

  17. Sounds like you had a wonderful week at the beach. I am glad to hear Freddy is enjoying himself at your vacation house as well.

Thanks so much for linking to my post about blog tour. Brandee her post sounds interesting, so I am off to read that one next. I hope you’ll have a great week!

  18. I look forward to Freddy pictures! He’s so cute! The beach trip sounds fun and how nice to have your whole family there even if it is a bit full. Most of the dogs I had growing up spent summer on the coolest surface they could find so I can imagine how Freddy’s feeling. Of course we always had Shelties whose full fur coats are not exactly designed for Southern US summers! Have a great week!

  19. You getting the second Perri book reminds me that I still need to read the first one. 🙂 Freddie always looks so cute no matter what pic he is in…lol. 🙂

    Have a great week!
    Stormi

  20. Too much time spent at Netgalley AND Edelweiss! LOL
Enjoy all your new reads in between visits to the beach and walks with Freddy and time spent with family!! *BIG HUGS*

  21. Oh Freddy is cuter then ever! Sounds like you had fun in the sun this past week. I hope this week will be just as great for you (maybe less hot tho). I got no books last week. I am looking forward to reading the books picked for the Make Me Read It Read-A-Thon this week.
Thanks for the links to interesting posts this week, I have enjoyed them all. Have a great week!

  22. Okay, but your weenie dog is SO CUTE!! I literally just stop by your wrap ups to see him as he’s getting older. I love his little face! Awesome haul this week too! I hope you enjoy your new books!
