My Favorite 2016 Reads

2016 has definitely been a good year when it comes to the books I’ve read! And since we’re in the very last week of the year, I thought I’d share my favorite 2016 reads with you – in case you haven’t been able to pick them up yet, you know?

Fighting Dirty cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Fighting Dirty by Lori Foster, finally, fans of the Ultimate series got Armie’s story, and I was swooning from start to finish!

Touch & Go cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Touch & Go is the second book in the Dare to Love series by Mira Lyn Kelly, and it worked so well for me!

Nobody but You cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis is the third Cedar Ridge book, and I have to reiterate that Shalvis outdid herself with this story!

It Ends With Us cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews
It Ends With Us is everything! Colleen Hoover always makes me feel all the feels, and this one was so good that a couple of weeks after I read it, I listened to the audio.

He Will Be My Ruin cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

He Will Be My Ruin is Tucker’s first suspense / psychological thriller, and I was definitely thrilled 😉

Before We Were Strangers cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Before We Were Strangers – it’s the perfect 2nd chance at love story, and Renee Carlino almost killed me – my poor heart! <3

Leave Me cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Gayle Forman got me from the start of Leave Me, realistic fiction on its best, in my opinion, and it left me feeling raw!

Rock Cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

J.A. Huss blew my mind with Rock! A rollercoaster of mystery and suspense where it was impossible to see what would come next!

In Her Eyes cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews

In Her Eyes by Wesley Banks kind of caught me by surprise, I got some light romance, but I got some pretty heavy subjects as well.

The Operator cover - (un)Conventional Bookviews
Only Kim Harrison can completely marry a futuristic world with time travel and some kind of magic and make me feel like it could be real…

Have you made a list of your favorite reads for this year? If not, let me know some of the books you loved so much you think you need to read them again – or that made such an impact on you that you still catch yourself thinking of the characters or their story now – months later.

  1. I had a hard time narrowing down my books for a best of 2016 post, there were so many good reads this year. I enjoyed Nobody But You, but I think I enjoyed the first two Heartbreaker Bay books even more. I haven’t read He Will be My Ruin, but I think I might pick it up eventually. I also read a thriller this year and was surprised by how much I enjoyed it, then again it was a book by Kelley Armstrong. I hope 2017 will be a good reading year as well!

  2. I haven’t read a lot of these authors, but there are some I want to.

I’m glad to see you enjoyed the Colleen Hoover book, as it’s on my to be read pile. I am so hesitant to pick anything up by her, because I am just not sure I can handle the emotional roller coaster. The only book I’ve read by her was Hopeless, and it nearly did me in.

I’m glad you had so many enjoyable reads this year! 🙂

  3. I’m slightly disappointed (in myself) because I haven’t read any of these and have barely heard of any of them! I am definitely going to check out the Jill Shalvis one, because I have not read any of her books and basically all of my bloggy friends who have read her books have loved those and are obsessed. 😀 Wonderful list, Lexxie!

  4. I have a few of these on my shelf and I read ONE of them. Interesting that I’ve read only one of your favs from this year. Hmm…. Anyway, Hoover, Tucker, Carlino, Harrison, and Shalvis would all make my favorite authors list. 😀 Glad you got so many great reads in during 2016, Lex. Here’s to an awesome year of reading in 2017!!
