Feature and Follow #10

Posted 31 August, 2012 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Feature and Follow / 0 Comments

YAY it’s Friday! Welcome to my Feature and Follow number 10, but the first on my transformed blog – I have switched from Blogger to WordPress this week – you like? If you used to follow me, I’d love it if you could please follow me again, I will be archiving my blogger blog in a little while, and then I’ll only be using this – but my wonderful followers *sigh* will hopefully make the switch with me 😀

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

trans Feature & Follow #111

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that they Feature. Each week they will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is their Feature today? Nettes Bookshelf and Cheerful Reviews. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow their Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

As you can imagine, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers better, as well as a way to find new blogs, and be seen by more people yourself.

This week’s question is :

Best Cover? What is the best cover of a book that you’ve read and didn’t like?

I can honestly say that I don’t pay attention to covers myself. I choose books based on genre, friends and fellow bloggers recommendations and  sometimes only the blurb or a short extract. I include the covers in my reviews to help readers find the book more easily if they’re interested. And also, since I usually read only e-books (mostly kindle) I don’t even really see the cover once I start reading.

If you are a new follower to my blog, please let me know so that I can make sure to follow you back. I have no preferred way of following for the moment, just choose what is best for you. I prefer RSS following, but if you’d rather like to follow by e-mail, that’s OK as well.

Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

    • Yeah, Goodreads is the way for me to see book covers as well 🙂 Thanks for stopping by to comment and follow back!

    • Thanks for following me over, Vonnie. I like wordpress quite well so far, I also thought it was a little easier to personalize my blog here – we’ll see how it goes, for the time being, I’m keeping everything over at blogger as well – just in case.

      Thanks for stopping by.

  1. I’m sure a cover person. It’s usually the cover that grabs my attention first. Those books that I read that don’t have great covers come from seeing other people love and recommend them.
I’m following you back via linky & facebook.
Thanks for stopping by my FF =)

    • Thanks for the comment and the follow Sabina 🙂 Recommendations from other readers are important in my opinion as well.

      Have a great weekend.

  3. I wish I wouldn’t pay attention to covers. It is what initially draws me though, along with the title!
Thanks for stopping by my FF and am now a Linky follower 🙂

    • Of course it happens that I see a cover and either like it or not, but since I buy mostly kindle versions of books, it’s like I don’t really notice the covers anymore, even when I’m browsing Goodreads or Amazon.

    • 🙁 sadly, it’s because wordpress and GFC don’t go together. Feel free to follow by either linky (linkyfollowers is free as well, and works the same way GFC does) or via RSS or e-mail.
      Thanks for stopping by.
