Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. I prefer being followed via Linky, Google+ or if you’d like my facebook page. If you prefer e-mail or RSS, that’s good as well 🙂
As you can imagine, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers better, as well as a way to find new blogs, and be seen by more people yourself.
Now on to this week’s question:
What book do you think everyone should read? If you could gift the entire population with one book?
This is actually not an easy question. I can’t say there’s a single book that I think everyone should read. Of course, there are books that have touched me deeply, and that I think could do the same for others as well. If I have to choose one single book, I think I’ll go with Adam Bede by George Eliot. It is set in the country-side in England in the late 18th century, and the insight to human condition is amazing.
What about you? What book would you like all of us to read?
Thanks for stopping by this week – even if my blog has been very quiet. Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend. Also, I hope that 2013 will bring you joy, happiness and only good things!
It’s not easy this week at all! I’ve not heard of that book, either, but will go and check it out:)
Here’s my answer this week:

I love your new blog! It’s very nice. Thanks for stopping by.
I have thought for years that I should read some George Eliot and never have taken the time. Thanks for this recommendation. And Thanks for visiting my blog. I am now a Google follower.
Ooh I can’t wait to see what you think about it! Normally, all the George Eliot books should be for free in their kindle version at amazon and on gutenberg.
I haven’t read that one, I have read Middlemarch though!
I actually haven’t read Middlemarch yet, even though I’ve heard it’s actually ‘better’ than Adam Bede 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
I have Middlemarch but haven’t read it 🙂
Old follower. Hope you are able to get to read the book before the movie comes out. Haven’t hear of this book and will definitely need to check it out. Thank you so much so continuing to follow!
I am sure I’ll get to The Host before the movie is out… if not, I’ll just have to stay away from the movie theaters for a while 🙂
New Linky Follower…I would like everyone to read THE FORGOTTEN GARDEN by Kate Morton. Actually – I would recommend any Kate Morton book. 🙂

I’ve heard of Adam Bede, but had never read it. I love the classics. I read Silas Marner, but a long time ago. I am very fond of Thomas Hardy, especially The Return of the Native.
Nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by my blog!
I actually haven’t read Silas Marner, nor Middlemarch yet, and I discovered Adam Bede in class 🙂 I have all of George Eliot’s books on my kindle now – I only need more time so I can read it all!
This is a tough question this week. I’ve not heard of Adam Bede-I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for stopping by my FF this week. Old follower 🙂
Traci @ Mad Hatter Reads
I know, it was kind of hard work today 🙂 But I’ve found lots of new books to read!

Classic Literature is always the best choice. I know little about this book but it looks like a great read, I put this in my TBR pile. Great answer 🙂 New follower!
I really hope you’ll like it! Know that since it’s a classic it’s available for free in kindle version.
I love reading classics, but I haven’t heard of this one yet.

Haven’t heard of this one but it’s nice to see something different. 😀
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a fabulous weekend. x
Thanks for the comment:) Enjoy your weekend as well.
It sounds like the just the type of book I’m in the mood for. Anything that’s deep, and human nature is like a massive onion/spiderweb, if I can call it that. Very intricate and convoluted, and something that everyone can relate to. Those types of books are worth reading: so like you’ve added The Shadow of the Wind to your TBR, I’ve added Adam Bede 😀 I might want to look up a summary first, haha 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by Pages!
-Kirthi
I agree, sometimes I really need to read something deep, about human condition, and that might even make me change the way I’m thinking.
Other times, I’m perfectly happy with fluff, though 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Not familiar with it, will have to look into it! *off to Goodreads* Thanks for checking out my post! Old follower 🙂
LOL, I picked this book, but I’m not so sure it’s a book everyone will like 😀 *will stalk Goodreads to see if Littleread adds it* 😛
I haven’t read that, but I’ll have to check it out! Thx for following me! 🙂
If you decide to read it let me know 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!
Yeah! I couldn’t pick one book either so I selected a few.
Thanks for stopping by my FF 🙂
Marilyn @ Marilyn’s Mystery Blog
I agree, I actually think this week was the hardest for me to make a choice…
I understand what you mean about there not being one book that everyone should read. I just chose the one I’m currently obsessed with, but I know everyone isn’t going to love it like I do.
I’ve never read George Elliot. I know it’s a shame. I do have Middlemarch on my TBR list, though. I’ll have to look at adding this one as well.
Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I guess people could all read the same book, however, it’s a whole different story if they will like it or not.
Hi Lexxie..
Thanks for stopping by and following, and also for letting me know that i forgot to post the question and answer on my page…lol

Dont’ worry about not knowing about this book yet, it’s not one of George Eliot’s most known stories.

I haven’t read that one…historical stuff isn’t my cup of tea >.<
Thanks for stopping by!!
That’s OK, I am actually sure there isn’t such a thing as one book for everyone… we could all read the same book, but we wouldn’t all think the same thing about it.
Excellent choice. I’ve never read Adam Bede, but I was looking at a copy in a secondhand bookstore the other day. Maybe I should have bought it …
That’s funny! And maybe you should have bought it… Thanks for stopping by!

Europe in 18th century? hmmmm.. interesting enough for me!
Thanks for dropping by! and Happy New Year!
And the author is from the 19th century herself, so what she was writing about isn’t that far in the past.
Thanks for stopping by, Happy New Year to you, too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! I’m following you back through Networked Blogs. I thought like you, there is not one book for everyone, That’s why we have so many different books out there!
Thanks for stopping by Lisa 🙂 I think that sometimes, even reading I book I end up not liking can be OK, because it could still challenge me on different levels.
