Feature and Follow #3 – Why blogging?

Posted 13 July, 2012 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Feature and Follow / 0 Comments

The Feature and Follow meme is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read and is made in order to help bloggers to meet new bloggers, gain more followers and have some fun.  Today, Vivian and Jessica are the featured bloggers.

Today’s question is : What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

My personal answer is that I love reading, and I love sharing my love for books. I thought that Goodreads was one way to do it, but through GR, I discovered many great book blogs, and I felt like I have something to say and share in the blogging world as well 🙂

What’s your reason?

Thanks for stopping by – if you are a new follower, please comment to let me know so I can make sure I follow you back.

Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend !

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Old Follower.I find that on GR- except a private group I belong to- I sometimes feel constrained when discussing a book. If I don't like something, I sometimes don't want to say it if (almost) everyone else liked it. Not because I'm a coward, but because if someone enjoys something I don't want to take away from that. But on my blog, I can say what I want. Also I find that I read each book as if I'm going to review it- which is a different way of reading.

  2. I mostly post reviews on Goodreads, I don't discuss the books all that much, apart from with people who share the same view I do. It would never occur to me to go on a positive review to discuss that reviewer's opinion if I didn't like the book. Same for the opposite.I also read books differently now, but I think that is as much because I now study English literature as it is because I review everything I read 🙂

  3. There will never be enough time to read all the books that I want to read! That TBR pile just keeps growing! Books in my bedroom, books in my living room, books on my Kindle – it never ends!

  4. You know, I've tried getting into Goodreads but no. I was more attracted to Shelfari. I might give Goodreads another try again soon.Thank you for stopping by my blog. I am following you 🙂

  5. Thanks for stopping by to comment and follow, Michael. I agree, Goodreads is an awesome site – I have found so many new books thanks to that, as well as a lot of great people:)Have a good weekend!

  6. If Shelfari also has a place where you can keep track of books you have read and books you want to read, I guess you don't really need Goodreads 🙂 Thanks for coming over to leave a comment. Have a great weekend!

  7. Dee

Honestly, who doesn't love books? I cannot help but stare at people like they're aliens when they say they don't like reading…

  8. I started out on Goodreads – now I only post short versions of reviews there as I think most people on there prefer to skim a number of reviews. I go into more depth on my blog 🙂

  9. Hi Ana 🙂 thanks for coming by to comment today! I'll look you up on Goodreads 🙂 it is a great place to keep track of books you want to read.
