Feature and Follow #48 -Bookspine Poetry
YAY it’s Friday! Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!
What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your Feature and follow post. I prefer being followed via e-mail, RSS / Bloglovin’ or Google+; or you can like my facebook page, or even follow me on Twitter.
This week’s question is an activity –
Take a photo of some of your books, and use their titles to write a poem!
This is such a great idea! I have had a little trouble with the books, though, since I actually own less and less paper books and more and more e-books. But I think I managed 🙂 And I truly had a lot of fun doing it – even if my poem might not make a lot of sense 😀
Obasan and Itsuka need The Rez Sisters’ help
They are in search of King Lear
Who is beleived to be In The Skin of a Lion
Hidden like an Outlander
Some think he is Dead and Gone
Others say he is Splintered
Ever since that Fall of Night
When, with a Shiver
He commited Grave Sins
in Glass Houses and out.
Now, happily they can announce The Return of the King
After he has been for a long time in The Exile
What about you? Did you have fun writing a poem, or was it hard? I really look forward to reading everybody’s posts today! I love it when us bloggers get creative 🙂
Thanks for stopping by 🙂 Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Great poem Lexxie!! I’m not very good at poetry so I’ve been thinking about this one all week and gave it my best shot. Stop by My FF and let me know what you think 😀
Have a great Friday!
Thanks Traci! I just realized Rached made a poem consisting only of the word in the titles… I couldn’t have done that! But I had a lot of fun with this.
Have a fantastic Friday, Traci, and happy reading 🙂

Great Job, better than I could do..lol.
Thanks Stormi 🙂 I had a lot of fun with this one – and I have to admit I was very happy to have gotten the question last week already, as I needed some time to think.

Thank you Liesel 🙂 Have a fantastic Friday.
Great poem! Love it! 😀 My FFs are at Musings on Fantasia and LKHill. Happy Friday!
I love this week’s FF, but I’ll have to enjoy it as a spectator. It’s cool to know those titles and have them used in such a literal way. Great job, Lexxie!
I’m sure you’ll have fun even as a spectator, Robyn 🙂 Thanks for stopping by! It’s always nice to ‘see’ you.
Have a fantastic Friday.

Thanks for stopping by Amy 🙂
Ooooh that’s very good! I couldn’t get too creative with mine, it’s one of my many TBR stacks and was all nicely stacked randomly, but makes for a very weird and odd poem!
Here’s my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT weekend!

I think the way we all go about it so differently is part of what makes this FF so great! I love seeing the creativity.
Thanks for stopping by, Jessica 🙂
Uniquely done, really great poem 🙂
I hadn’t even thought to add extra words but yours turned out wonderful! I loved this FF, it was a welcome change from the regular questions that are usually asked!!

I wish you a great weekend. 🙂
Aw 🙂 Thank you Athina! I had fun doing this.
I wish you a wonderful weekend as well 🙂
That was pretty awesome! 🙂 You did a great job, and I like how you added to the titles to create a more detailed poem. I myself stuck with the titles, but I had so much fun rearranging and playing with them.
Have a fabulous weekend and happy reading!
Brandy @ A Little of the Book Life
Old follower!
I know – this activity was so much fun – first finding the titles, then playing around with them a little, then trying to make sense of it 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Brandy 🙂
AH! That’s so cool! You had odd titles, and you still made it work! Great job! 😀
Following you via Google Plus!
Check out my FF post!
Thank you Alyssa 🙂 Yes, I had a little trouble at first because I don’t have many books in paper form anymore…
Have a great Friday 🙂
Wow! Nice Job! That was so amazing. I am so jealous of your awesome ability to write poetry like that 🙂
Thank you Chelsea 🙂 Don’t be jealous! Your poem was excellent!
Have a great weekend.

Fun poem! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Thanks Livia! Have a great weekend yourself 🙂
What a fun poem! 🙂 I didn’t add anything to the titles, so mine is rather spare in comparison I’m afraid! I’m a new follower on Twitter and a fan on Facebook.

Hi Anna 🙂 It’s nice to ‘meet’ you! Thanks for the compliment!
Have a wonderful weekend.
I love your poem! I wasn’t sure if I could do one like this, so I went with an acrostic one, lol. Now I really want to try one like this. 🙂 I love seeing everyone’s creativity, too. This is my favorite FF so far.
Thanks for stopping by my My FF @ Donnie Darko Girl 😀
Thanks Jennifer 🙂 I actually wrote my post before the complete question had been posted – based on what Rachel posted last week. So I went completely the way I wanted to.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend.
I really like the added words in there that make it more like a real poem. It’s pretty long and looks like it took quite a bit of work. I really enjoyed it! I’m with you on the e-books too so most of my newer titles can’t be used for spine poetry. I like what you came up with though. Thank you so much for stopping by my FF. Old follower 😀 Jaclyn JC’s Book Haven.
Thank you Jaclyn. I had to add a little something, because the titles I could use (like, not the Oxford Dictionary of Philosopical Logic, The Medieval Times etc – although that could have ended up fun as well) were pretty limited.
Thanks for stopping by!
Woah, great poem, Lexxie! I love how it tells a story, and how you added words to make it flow really well. Awesome job!!
Thank you very much, Nikki 🙂 I hope you’ll have a wonderful weekend.
I like what you did. Pretty creative 😀 Thanks for stopping by my FF.
Thank you 🙂 I had a lot of fun with this, I’m glad you liked it.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Most of my reading is done on an e-reader as well, so I also had a difficult time putting something together. Good Job!
Yeah, I saw one blogger who used the covers of some of the books on her kindle… I wish I had thought of that!!
Thanks for stopping by Kimberly 🙂
This was such a fun one! I love all the poems – I like how you incorporated all of the book titles, but didn’t use them alone.
Thanks for stopping by my FF!
I’m an old follower.
Thank you Nicole 🙂 It was a fun excercise!
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Great job! Your poem rocked. 😀
How did you find out about this last week? I never know what’s coming before the day. Pretty pleased with mine then as I did it in about 10 minutes. Maybe I just need to pay more attention.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Have a fab weekend.
Since last week, Rachel (Parajunkee) posts next week’s question at the end of this week’s post… She did so today as well, I can’t remember what it will be next week right now, but it’s possible to look it up to prepare 🙂
Yours was fun! I can’t believe you did that in only ten minutes :O
Thanks for stopping by.
Oh, I really should pay more attention. Just looked and you are perfectly correct, next week is sharing your favourite literary quote. I swear I go round with my eyes shut sometimes.
Thanks! Maybe I work better under pressure. 😀
Have a great weekend.
LOL 🙂 The part with next week’s question has only been there since last week, though, but I knew where to look for it 🙂 And sometimes, work done under pressure is very good work.
WOW LEXXIE. That was amazing! Thanks for dropping by my FF! Have a great weekend!
Old bloglovin follower. 😉
Nina @ The Bookish Confections
Thank you Nina! I hope you’llhave a great weekend as well:)
That’s a really awesome poem! I love that you didn’t just use the titles but added in your own words to put together a coherent piece. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my blog! New follower!
Thanks Daniela 🙂 This week’s FF was so cool! I hope you’re having a good weekend.
Really great poem! I love how you tied all the titles in 🙂
Thanks for stopping by earlier!
Thank you Kim! This was great fun 🙂

Thank you Meredith 🙂 I had a lot of fun this week!
Nice poem! This week’s activity was fun and challenging at the same time. And you’re right, it was a lot better to have the topic in advance.
Thanks for hopping in, to see my poem in my F&F.
Thanks for stopping by Jane 🙂 Having the topic in advance helped a lot. Since I live in Europe, I am used to only seeing the question when I get up on Friday morning, then, getting ready to leave for the day having to come up with something real quick.
I love it! I’m a new follower! Please Check out my FF
Love,
Elizabeth @ Stuffed Shelves
Thanks Elizabeth 🙂 I look forward to getting to know you!
Love your poem! Such a nice combination of different genres. Old follower.
Thank you Jennifer 🙂 Yes, a few of those books were some I had to read for class, others were bought by choice.
Thanks for stopping by!
Great FF, Lexxie – and thanks for stopping by to read ours the other day!
Old Twitter follower, new Bloglovin follower 🙂
Thanks Janice 🙂 Last week’s was great, so many excellent entries.

Wow, your poem is REALLY unique 🙂 It’s like a real story, kind of like a ballad 🙂 I don’t think I’ve read anything like it until now!
Thank you Laura 🙂 I had a lot of fun coming up with it!
Have a great day 🙂
Quite an impressive poem, Lexxie! 😉 I know I’m commenting really late, but I had to comment on your poem. It’s extremely creative! This challenge was too much for me! LOL
Thank you Brandee 🙂 I had a lot of fun with this one! And I almost missed your comment :O that just won’t do!
Thanks for stopping by.
