Feature and Follow #52 -Favorite Reading Spot Away From Home

YAY it’s Friday! Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your Feature and follow post. I prefer being followed via e-mail, RSS / Bloglovin’ or Google+; or you can like my facebook page, or even follow me on Twitter.

Book Vacay: Where is the best destination reading spot for you? (Where do you like to go to read other than your home)

Beach - (un)Conventional Bookviews
Tuscany, Italy – May 2013

If I am actually on vacation, my fave reading spot is on the beach, on a lounge chair/bed by the sea, where I can just read, listen to the children play, and put my book down to play with them when I want to. I don’t think there’s anything more relaxing to me than a stay at the beach. The sounds of the waves always has a calming effect on me, and I love the smell of salt, the breeze, the sounds of children playing happily. And I love that it is possible to read on the beach, because then I have my favorite place and my favorite pass-time all in one! If I am at home, but we go somewhere else for a while and I can bring a book, my favorite place is in a park, under a tree – where I have a good view of the park so I know where my kids are playing (usually that will be in the sand!) and I won’t get too hot from the sun.

Right now, I’m in Paris (yes, for real!) so I might not be able to comment back as quickly as possible.

What about you? Where is the best destination reading spot for you? Do you have a favorite place where you can both read and feel like it’s a real vacation?

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.

    • Oh, a balcony and ice tea sounds very nice, too, Stormi! I hope I’ll be able to get in some ‘beach-reading’ later this summer 😉

      Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Jessica@a GREAT read

That sounds nice! I’m in the midwest so beaches don’t really exist! Other than at a lake! But our weather tends to be too hot and humid for me. Lived here all my life and still cannot stand our weather! So it’s indoors for me! I can read anywhere really as long as I am comfy!

    Here’s my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT weekend!

    Old Follower 🙂

    • Being comfortable while reading is the number one most important thing! I live near a lake between mountains as well, and it’s very hot and humid here during the summer. But we usually manage to get to the sea once a year, and that is bliss!

Thanks for stopping by Jessica 🙂

    • Nice, Athina! Are you traveling around in France? If you come towards Geneva in Switzerland, let me know, we could meet up for a coffee and a book discussion 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • Oh, that sounds heavenly, Traci! I love spending time outside, but your compromise with being inside but having a house in a beautiful setting is great!

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  2. I’m rarely away from home, however, I love reading on the beach. It’s just so perfect for a day in the sun and sand. Since I no longer go to the beach regularly…when I am away from home any comfy stop will do. 🙂

    • 🙂 Being comfy is important! We should go to the beach together one time, sit in the sand and read and chat 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by Xyra!!

  3. OMG, enjoy Paris *swoon* and I agree, there is absolutely no better place than the beach for reading outdoors or away from home. The sound of the waves and people just chilling and having fun ♥ Plus you get to work on your tan…and cool off in the water whenever you want B-) Great spot Lexxie & happy vaca!!
