Feature and Follow #62 – My Featured Blogger

YAY it’s Friday! Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your Feature and follow post. I prefer being followed via e-mail, RSS / Bloglovin’ or Google+; or you can like my facebook page, or even follow me on Twitter.

Feature your own Favorite Blogger

Bookworm Brandee - (un)Conventional BookviewsSo, today, we get to choose our very own featured blogger, and even if there are several bloggers I really love, and whose blogs I visit every day, my choice was quite easy! It’s Brandee from Bookworm Brandee. I don’t really remember how long I’ve ‘known’ Brandee, but we hit it off right from the start, we enjoy the same books, feel the same way about other things as well, and we have a lot of things in common in real life as well. You should really check out her blog, she has lots of fun reviews, and she also often participates in blogtours with amazing giveaways. We live in different parts of the world, but I really hope we’ll be able to meet for real one day. I’d happily take a trip to Colorado to make it happen, too. And she has been nice enough to take the time to answer the normal featured blogger questions for me, too:

1) When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in January of 2011. I had read The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin and decided I needed an outlet for all my reading. My friend, who’d given me the book, suggested (rather strongly 😉 that I should start a book blog. I think she, and others (*ahem* my husband) thought maybe I wouldn’t talk about books quite so much if I was blogging about them. LOL Crazy thoughts! LOL So I got a laptop for Christmas and then began setting up a blog. My oldest daughter designed my Bookworm…and the rest is history. 🙂

2) What is your favorite part of book blogging?
I have lots of favorite parts of blogging. But I guess my very favorite is interacting with the book blogging world. It allows me to meet wonderful bloggers, like you Lexxie, who I find I have so much in common with – not only in the books we read, but in life as well. And then there’s the sharing of great books. My TBR has swelled to astronomical proportions since I became a blogger! 🙂 Also, I’ve enjoyed my introduction to indie authors.

3) What type of books do you mainly blog about?
Looking back at this year so far, it seems I’ve mainly read and reviewed within the NA genre. I really do enjoy this genre but it’s not the only genre I read. I honestly read just about anything – with the exception of user manuals, which I used to write for a living. 🙂 I don’t think I have ONE favorite genre anymore. I used to strictly read literary fiction. Then along came a little series called Twilight, and a whole new world was opened up to me. And I am so very happy about that. I’d been missing out on some amazingly talented authors!

4) What is (are) your favorite book(s)?
My favorite books…you know it’s gonna be plural here. 😉 My very favorite book of all-time is Pride & Prejudice. Hmm, well the Twilight Saga would have to go on the list for the reasons listed above. I’m also very fond of Pamela Clare’s MacKinnon’s Rangers series, March by Geraldine Brooks, The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova, everything by Rachel Vincent 😉 Goodness, I think I’ll stop here…this list could get lengthy! 😉

  1. Oh Lexxie, I’m so glad we’ve become blogging BFFs! 😉 And I do hope we get to meet someday, too. You know I’d love to come to Switzerland to see you! 🙂 I just have to figure out a way to make it happen. I think i it might be easier to accomplish than trying to figure out how to get more time in the day for reading! LOL

Happy Friday, my friend! Have a lovely day! *hugs*

    • Me, too, Brandee! We really need to find a time to chat on FB, I’m sure we’ll have so many things to talk about.

LOL, traveling just might be easier than that time problem we both keep having 😉

      Have a fantastic Friday. *hugs*

    • LOL it was so funny when we sent each other e-mails to interview each other. I hope we’ll get to meet as well!
