Feature and Follow #58 – Only One Book

YAY it’s Friday! Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature and Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.The Feature and Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Rachel of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to meet more new bloggers!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that our hosts feature two blogs. Every week they will each showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow both their featured as well as our lovely hosts as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your Feature and follow post. I prefer being followed via e-mail, RSS / Bloglovin’ or Google+; or you can like my facebook page, or even follow me on Twitter.

What book would you choose if you could have Only One Book for the rest of your life?

This is a very mean question! Because really, choosing only one book is kind of like asking me to choose one of my four children! Or only one single person to ever spend time with again. And that’s just not possible, you know what I mean? Should I choose a favorite? A new book? A book that doesn’t exist yet, but might be written in the future by one of my favorite authors? Fiction? Non-fiction? I really don’t think I can do this. Would it be possible to choose The Neverending Story and have it actually be never ending? Should I choose a huge book or a normal sized one?

I hope I’m not the only one having this awful dilemma today! *cries* This isn’t fair! *dries tears and tries to finish post*

OK, so if I really could really have only one book for the rest of my life, I think I would have to go with The Faerie Quene because it’s a book that has several stories, and it follows a lot of different characters, and there is a real moral of the story. It is one of my all-time favorites, so I wold be happy for a little while, at least. And nothing could stop me from telling myself stories in my head, and expand on it on my own, right? And just in case I was able to sneak a couple of more books past Rachel and Alison, I’d try to bring The Historian and The Outlander with me as well (yes the whole series).

What about you? Were you able to choose only one book? Did you think the question was unbearably difficult?

Thanks for stopping by today 🙂 Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!

  1. Wow, okay I don’t know if I want to do the FF this week…lol. Okay so I agree with you that it would be very difficult, but I will have to go with a book I don’t mind rereading and that is my favorite Jane Austen book, Persuasion!! I sooo love Captain Wentworth!!

    • Hi Stormi 🙂 I was thinking the same thing at first, that maybe I just wasn’t going to do the FF at all.

The most difficult part would definitely be the not minding to re-read, because hopefully, I’ll live a long way still.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  2. I’m going with Pride and Prejudice. I never get tired of reading it, and I feel like I’m discovering something new every time! 🙂

    • I have only read P&P once, a long time ago, and I can hardly remember it… that’s why I didn’t choose it, I need to remember that I loved it at least 🙂

  3. I didn’t have so much trouble, Lexxie. But that’s only because Pride & Prejudice is my very favorite book of all time…but I chose my Jane Austen anthology so I could read all her books for all time! LOL Seriously though, I have re-read P&P so many times since 7th grade…my husband asks me each time I re-read it, ‘did it end differently this time?’ 😉

Happy Friday, Lexxie! I hope it kicks off a spectacular weekend for you! *hugs*

    • LOL, Maybe I should have cheated and made one humongous PDF file with all of my kindle books into one anthology?

*sigh* so your husband thinks it’s all about the ending, eh? I don’t think I have any books I’ve re-read a number of times.

Thanks so much for stopping by, Brandee, I hope you’ll have a great weekend as well. I look forward to seeing what sidekick you’ve chosen for tomorrow 😀

  4. We’ve got the same thoughts, Lexxie. The question wasn’t fair. Hahaha. I haven’t heard about The Faerie Queen but I hope it will make you contented for the rest of your life. Nyahahah. Sneaking isn’t allowed. xD

    • Oh, hi Charlotte… No, those aren’t books! Of course not, we’re only allowed to have one… but maybe we can switch books at a time? you know, and then switch back? 🙂

Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

  5. I did have a hard time with this one.. Have thought of it all week. I like how you would try to sneak other books with you. 🙂

    • I’m really glad I’m not the only one who thought this week’s question was kind of mean 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Jessica!

    • I almost didn’t participate this week, Robyn, but I kind of wanted to, so difficult choice it was 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Robyn 🙂 I hope you’re having a fabulous Friday!

    • Yes, I needed at least one book with several stories, because even one favorite story can be read too many times 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Athina, have a great weekend yourself!

  6. Wow! Only 1. That really stinks. I did the dessert island question but we ended up bringing 1 series. Even then the choice was really hard.
My first instinct is The Bible, then Harry Potter but not sure which one, and Twilight.
Of course, I could really cheat and say The Norton Anthology of World Literature. 😀

  7. You are definitely not the only one who had trouble with this question. I went back and forth all week and I’m sure I’ll want to change my answer weeks from now. I’ve never read Faerie Queene so I’ll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing! Old follower.

    • I already want to change mine! But then, I don’t… Fickle? Me?

Thanks for stopping by Jennifer 🙂 Enjoy your weekend.

    • I know – it’s like the worst thing to ever ask of us. And it’s the only place where it’s OK to have several loves, as well 😀

My weekend is awesome, I hope yours is too, Traci!

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • It’s very old, Liesel, it was first published in 1590… And I’m sure it would keep me occupied.

      Thanks for stopping by.

    • Thanks for stopping by Jaclyn 🙂 Yeah, I know how it is to be a series fan – strange, isn’t it? 😀

      Have a beautiful Sunday.

    • But even with The Historian, I think I’d be sad if truly there would only be one single book I could read for the rest of my life…

Thanks for stopping by Heather 🙂

  8. Sue Aimes

The Outlander and hopefully all of the series. That one story has kept me enthralled since I first read it. I recommend it to anyone who asks for a great book.
