Follow Friday #9

Posted 24 August, 2012 by Linda @ (un)Conventional Bookworms in Feature and Follow / 0 Comments

YAY it’s Friday! Welcome to my Feature and Follow number 9.

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers — but you have to know — the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

trans Feature & Follow #111
The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

What sets this Hop apart from others, is that they Feature. Each week they will showcase a Featured Blogger, from all different genres and areas. Who is their Feature today? Carmen of Book Me and Awesome Sauce Bookclub. Just remember it is required, if you participate, to follow their Features and you must follow the hosts (Parajunkee & Alison Can Read) as a courtesy. How do you follow someone? Well, if you have a preference, state it in your #FF post. A lot of blogs are transitioning to WordPress in which they do not have the luxury of GFC, so an RSS subscription is appreciated or if you choose an email subscription. If you don’t have GFC please state in your post how you would like to be followed.

As you can imagine, this is a great way to get to know your fellow bloggers better, as well as a way to find new blogs, and be seen by more people yourself.

This week’s question is :

Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you’ve read and loved?

I can honestly say that I don’t pay attention to covers myself. I choose books based on genre, friends and fellow bloggers recommendations and  sometimes only the blurb or a short extract. I include the covers in my reviews to help readers find the book more easily if they’re interested. And also, since I usually read only e-books (mostly kindle) I don’t even really see the cover once I start reading.

If you are a new follower to my blog, please let me know so that I can make sure to follow you back. I have no preferred way of following for the moment, just choose what is best for you.

Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!

  1. 🙂 I am trying to remember if I thought more about the cover when I was buying 'real' books. Thanks for the comment and the follow 🙂

  2. Hey Lexxie, thanks for stopping by!I know what you mean about reading e books, some times I pick up a "real" book just for something different! I kinda miss those shiny covers, and cracking the spine is one of my favourite things to do when I open a book!happy Friday!

  4. I have to read 'real' books for class, as we all need to have the same edition. And the smell of a new book is among the best smells in the world! Thanks for your comment 🙂

  5. Exactly, and I have heard of instances when readers were drawn in by a beautiful cover, only to be very disappointed with the story. I guess it works both ways :)Have a wonderful weekend yourself!

  7. I have to admit, when it comes to purchasing a book that I've never heard of the cover is probably 90% of my decision whether to buy or to pass it up. A brilliant cover will stop my scrolling finger. Thanks again for following :)Grant
