its monday (un)Conventional Bookviews

Welcome to It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? This is a meme hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey; and I  think it is great to start the week with what I’m reading right this minute, and what I’ll be reading (or planning on reading, anyway) for the rest of the week.

Please visit Sheila’s blog to sign up on her linky, or you can do so below, and just know that every week, a lucky winner is drawn from the bloggers or posters (no need to even have a blog) who comment on at least ten posts in the It’s Monday meme. The winner gets a $5 Amazon gift card. How awesome is that?

So during this last week, I read quite a few books, actually, and not all of them were on my list on my last It’s Monday! post…

Temptation - (un)Conventional BookviewsI read and really enjoyed Temptation by Kathryn Barrett, my review will be posted later today 🙂 A very sweet romance, where both the protagonists have to question their beliefs and see what they are willing to change in their lives in order to maybe be able to be together.

All He Ever Desired - (un)Conventional BookviewsI read and loved All He Ever Desired by Shannon Stacey. This series is so well done, with humor, romance, friendship and some pretty steamy scenes as well. And I loved it so much I moved straight on to

All He Ever Dreamed - (un)Conventnional BookviewsAll He Ever Dreamed which is book number six in Shannon Stacey’s Kowalski Family series. I guess I was a lot more in the mood for romane than I thought I would be!

This Girl - (un)Conventional BookviewsI also read This Girl, which is book three in Colleen Hoover’s Slammed trilogy. I truly loved both Slammed and Point of Retreat – they both got five stars from me! I was a little weary before I started reading This Girl, because it was from Will’s point of view, and I was afraid it would just be a retelling of the first two books through Will’s eyes. Oh my, was I wrong! There was lots of new things happening after the end of Point of Retreat, but also Will telling Layken about how he felt during the beginning of their relationship. It was  so beautiful! If I could, I would give This Girl 6 stars!

Carniepunk - (un)Conventional BookviewsRight now I’m reading Carniepunk – it was on my list for last week, but I got sucked in by both All He Ever Dreamed and This Girl… I liked the first shortstory in Carniepunk – it was very different… And I look forward to continuing it.

For this week, there will be a lot less time for reading – I’m going to London with my mom and my sister from Wednesday through Sunday, and they’re really a lot of fun to hang out with!

There are two new releases coming out this week, though, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to not read them, since I have pre-ordered them for my kindle.

Dead Ever After - (un)Conventional BookviewsDead Ever After is book 13 – and also the last – in Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse Vampire series. I can’t wait to read it! And I’ve been able to stay far, far away from any spoilers that have been circulating the net lately. I am sure that I will like it – no matter who Sookie ends up with, or what will happen.

Fall Of Night - (un)Conventional BookviewsFall of Night by Rachel Caine. Book 14 in the Morganville Vampire series, and I just can’t get enough of this. Claire is the best, and I really look forward to seeing what kind of adventure she and Shane will get into next! I will probably read this the day it comes out, and I’ll also try to get my hands on the UK paperback, because I’m supposed to meet Rachel Caine for coffee during my stay in London (YAY!). I would really like to get a book signed, and I want to be able to continue to use my kindle 😉

What about you? What are you reading this week? Did you enjoy last week’s reads? Thanks for stopping by – I hope you’ll have a wonderful week with only great reads!

    • I had exactly the same feelings before I started reading This Girl, so I can understand you completely 🙂 I hope you’ll love it as much as I did.

    • Hi Sheila 🙂 I’m very sorry! I have not received your e-mail, I just went through my inbox again and couldn’t find any mails from you – but I have taken of the linky, and I won’t include it again – I completely understand!

Have a great week yourself, and thanks for stopping by 🙂

  3. They all sound good. I tried the Morganville vampires but never made it through the first one. 🙁 They always sound good, I think I need to give it another try. 🙂

I just finished Hide and Shriek a Middle Grade Jekyll and Hide type book it was cute and A Noble Groom that is a Christian romance and was pretty good. Now I just need to do reviews. 🙂

    • I look forward to reading your reviews, Stormi! Middle Grade Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde sounds interesting – another spin on a well-known story is often good.

I guess even the Morganville Vampires series can’t be for everyone… I just love Claire so much! She’s smart and funny, and never intimidated.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • Thanks Laurie 🙂 It’s pretty good so far, the stories are weird, with strange characters and stranger metallic robots 🙂
