Alex met Luke at a conference where she was speaking about building security in relation to bombs. They hit it off from the moment they first laid eyes on each other, and spent a night together. Luke had hardly ever spent more than a night or two with the same woman before, and was sure the beautiful redhead would be no different. Alex had never been with a guy so casually, and thought for sure she could do it just this once...

I did quite enjoy this book, but I had to take some points off for clichés, insta-love and predictability. If you want to read something quick, romantic and a little hot, with a splash of mystery and some conflicts of interest, this should hit exactly the right spot.
Alex left Luke’s room before he woke up the next morning, and he was feeling frustrated not to have the ‘morning after’ for the first time in his life. During the weeks after their meeting, they were both thinking of each other around the clock, but neither of them really felt like trying to get in touch again either. Fate decided differently when a bomb went off in a building Luke was building through his architecture company. Alex was the detective on call, and their second meeting was awkward to say the least.
There was mystery, a little romance and a lot of angst. It’s the kind of story that’s excellent for a light read while on vacation, when you need just a quick escape from whatever is going on around you. The writing is good, but the use of romance clichés was heavy, as was the use of adverbs in certain situations as well.
The story was well thought out, and the plot was done nicely, however. And I did like Alex and Luke, even if I never got the feeling I really got to know them very well – which is normal, since the story spans over just four or five weeks, and three of those weeks are between their first and second meeting.
The villain was impossible for the reader to find out until the narrator decided to share some extra information with us, but that was OK, sometimes a good mystery becomes better when the readers don’t get to see all the cards.

‘I like to live dangerlously,’ he murmured, his eyes glinting with devilment.
All in all I enjoyed this, and I would read the next book in the series if there is one.
