2014 in Bookview

2014 in Bookview Can you believe we are starting a new year already? Where did 2014 disappear to? I have no idea, but I do have some fun statistics to share with you about my year here on (un)Conventional Bookviews. I was up to a lot of different things, but mostly, I posted reviews, and I had a pretty fantastic year, enjoying most of the books I read immensely. I am happy to share my year in bookview with you, but it’s also a great way for me to start to organize things for 2015. As I was preparing this post, I realized that I have posted 240 reviews here on the blog in 2014 – that’s an average of […]

Comment Appreciation 2014

Comment Appreciation 2014

Comment Appreciation 2014 I have been going through the stats for (un)Conventional Bookviews these past days, both to prepare my wrap-up post, and to see how I’ve been doing in 2014. And I have some really great bloggers who are amazing at commenting here. I figured I should show the top commenters some appreciation, because it always makes my day to open the blog and see that there are new comments waiting for me. To show the top five commenters some appreciation, I am giving each of them an e-book by Donna Cummings, because I think she’s an indy author how really deserves more love! And just who are these amazing bloggers who have commented and commented here on (un)Conventional […]

Review: A SEAL’s Secret – Tawny Weber

Review: A SEAL’s Secret – Tawny Weber

Hotness galore, romance, strong characters and important choices – A SEAL’s Secret has it all! My A SEAL’s Secret review: The story of A SEAL’s Secret starts with… a push-up competition between Mitch and Livi, and from there, things heat up very quickly! Livi is usually very shy, but she has decided that for Halloween, she’s letting herself have some fun. When she spots Super-Hottie across the room, she knows she’d like to have some fun with him. Mitch, on the other hand, usually is rather a flirt, never wanting anything serious in his life, apart from his work as a SEAL. When he sees Livi, though, he wonders if there just might be more to life than work. […]

Review: When – Victoria Laurie

Review: When – Victoria Laurie

When is the story about a girl who can see when people will die – the exact date of their death – but she doesn’t know what to do with the information, and suddenly she’s the main suspect in a murder investigation. My When review: The mystery with the serial killer is well done in When, and it was impossible for me to figure out who the killer was, and how it tied in with the fact that Maddie could see when people would die. Those dates, however, weren’t ever really explained, and Maddie didn’t figure out why she could see these dates, or what she was supposed to do about it. The writing is good, even if the voice […]

The Sunday Post #12 – nice and easy

The Sunday Post #12 – Weekly Wrap-up Welcome to my weekly wrap-up post. I am signing up with Kimba over at The Caffeinated Reviewer, who is hosting this weekly event. This week has been pretty busy – not that that’s really new, but still – we took the two youngest kids with us to Spain to finalize the purchase of a vacation home on the Costa Brava, and I totally wish I was still there! Milder temperatures, the Mediterranean Sea, excellent food, and just a slower mood to things. We got back home on the 23rd in time to celebrate Christmas at home, and it was so nice to spend a few lazy days all six of us hanging out, […]

Giveaway and Blogtour Review: Canning the Center – Tara Lain

Giveaway and Blogtour Review: Canning the Center – Tara Lain

Welcome to my stop on the Canning the Center blogtour! If you have been here before, you know that I love Tara Lain’s stories! There are some really sexy male characters in them, and they all have to deal with discrimination because of their LGBTQ status in society. Some hide, others are well out in the open… Today, I’m sharing my Canning the Center review, some of my favorite quotes and there’s a giveaway, too! My Canning the Center review: Canning the Center might just be the best LGBT story I have read so far, it has everything – a hot football player who’s still in the closet, but really wants to come out, a beautiful and smart man who […]
