Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Hopeless (Hopeless #1) – Colleen Hoover

When I first read Hopeless, I think it became my favorite Colleen Hoover story, because it is so very deep, and so very gritty, and my emotions were all over the place because Sky and her past were unraveling so very slowly. And I adored both Sky and Holder, and I was fond of Six, too, even if she didn’t stay for the whole story. Listening to the audiobook brought all my feelings from Hopeless even more to the surface! I was crying two rivers on the bus one day on my way to Uni, and I would have much rather stayed on the bus all the listening to the story than going to class. Angela Goethals narrates Hopeless beautifully, […]

Review: With All My Soul (Soul Screamers #7) – Rachel Vincent

Review: With All My Soul (Soul Screamers #7) – Rachel Vincent

With All My Soul wraps up the Soul Screamers series pretty neatly, actually almost a little bit too neatly for my taste. I really loved this whole series, but some of the things that happened in With All My Soul just seemed a little like the easy way out when it comes to resolving some problems, and not actually telling enough of the planning to the readers. I’m sure the plan was to sweep us off our feet with Kaylee’s courage and smarts, but I ended up feeling a little bit cheated in the very end. As I said, everything gets neatly wrapped up, and while I get why Kaylee did what she did to save people, I guess I […]

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover

Maybe Someday is a book I gave four stars to when I read the ARC just before it was released. I was a little bit hung up with the cheating, thinking of cheating and waffling on both Ridge’s and Sydney’s parts. Especially because I enjoyed Maggie and I felt so bad for her, even if Ridge and Sydney never actually crossed the line and did cheat. However, listening to Maybe Someday, with a male and a female narrator made the experience very different. I was drawn into their conflicting feelings, and the way they were both holding back for fear of hurting Maggie, even as they were hurting themselves. And since each chapter is from either Ridge or Sydney’s point […]

Review: The Undead Pool (The Hollows #12) – Kim Harrison

Review: The Undead Pool (The Hollows #12) – Kim Harrison

The Undead Pool is a great story, in which Rachel has even more magic than usual, and where she might have to stay far away from the demons while she takes care of a huge problem in Cincinnati and The Hollows. It all starts when magic misfires happen throughout Cincinnati, and Rachel happens to be where things go wrong twice in the same day. The Undead Pool starts about three months after the ending of Ever After, so it seems things have been slowing down for her a little bit, but that is not at all the case anymore once this story gets going. Then, it appears that the master vampires aren’t waking up at night, and there’s a lot […]

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

Audiobook Review: Slammed (Slammed #1) – Colleen Hoover

I fell in love with Ms. Hoover’s writing when I read Slammed a while back, and after that, I continued reading all of her stories, and I am always somewhat mesmerized by the writing, the characters and the way the story draws me in completely. So when I discovered Audible, I decided I wanted to listen to some books that I thought would be even better when narrated in a good way. As I have already reviewed the written copy of Slammed, I will concentrate on the narration in this review, and it might be quite a bit shorter – this is my first ever audiobook review, and I can only say I was completely thrilled! Listening to a story […]

Stacking the Shelves #29 – A Very Good Week

Stacking The Shelves #29 – A Very Good Week Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Participating in Stacking The Shelves has helped me to keep better track of books I’m adding to my huge TBR pile every week, and I think I have gotten a little better at not adding too many books every single week. Participating in this blog-hop has also introduced me to more new blogs, and some weeks, I add […]
