Read Indie - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Tracy @ Cornerfolds and Christina @ Books & Prejudice are hosting the Read Indie Challenge from December 1-16! And Isn’t it a great idea to help us feature more Indie authors for a fortnight? I have several Indie authors I love, but that not all that many people know about, and so I’m very happy to be able to showcase them and put them on everyone’s radar very soon 🙂

The Read Indie Challenge:

So what is #ReadIndie all about? This isn’t necessarily a read-a-thon. Instead, the challenge is simply to post indie reviews for two weeks in place of the reviews you would normally post. However, each review you post and link up will gain you an extra entry into an indie book giveaway! This is ALL about spreading the word about incredible authors who don’t necessarily get the hype that they deserve.

The Read Indie Rules:

  • » Linkup to the blog or account where you will be reviewing.
  • » If you’re using a blog, create a blog post linking back to this signup post and listing your goals.
  • » Grab the button below and share.
  • » Post indie book reviews between December 1st and 16th.
  • » You do not have to post indie reviews exclusively (but only indie reviews count toward the challenge).
  • » Books do NOT have to be read during the challenge dates, but that is when the reviews must be posted.
  • » Titles must be from independent publishers. (i.e. not the big 5)
  • » Link each review you post in the rafflecopter to gain entries.
  • » Giveaway will be international. (More details to come when challenge begins!)
  • » Include #ReadIndie in your review titles. (e.g. #ReadIndie Book Title by Author Name)
  • » Tweet your progress using #ReadIndie.

Sounds pretty simple, right? Plus I’m sure it’ll be fun, too, and we’ll all find new to us Indie authors to enjoy in the future. I won’t be able to post only Indie reviews during the period the challenge is open, and Tracy told me this was OK, so there’s really no excuse 😉 Come join us!

  1. I think most of my book reviews are Indie authors! A lot of the zombie, horror and apocalypse books I read are Indie. I won’t be taking part in the challenge though as a couple of the rules don’t suit me but I’ll be with you in spirit!

  2. LOL Well, I was thinking that I wouldn’t have time to change up the reviews I’ve already scheduled but you then relieved that worry. 😉 I know I have plenty of Indie books to read so I’ll try to read some of them during the challenge period. But I *am* working at doing some series catch-up, so we’ll see how many I can get to. Unless, of course, the series are from Indies. 😉 It is a great challenge!
Happy Tuesday, wifey! <3 *BIG HUGS* <3

  3. I don’t often read indie authors, although one of my favorite authors is indie (J.A. Templeton). I do own a couple so this readathon reminded me I should read them at some point, especially a book called In My Dream that I own since 2013 I think…
Tbh, when it comes to indie authors, I am totally lost. There’s so many of them and I honestly don’t know who’s good.
I don’t think I’ll participate in this readathon bc of it’s timing. I usually read festive reads during December.
But I wish you happy reading! 🙂

    • I think I read even more Indie authors than I realize, Irena. And for this challenge, all those who aren’t published by the big five publishers are OK to use for the reviews.
If you have even one or two books to use, you should go for it, I’m sure it’ll be a fun challenge.
