Reveiw: Claim & Protect – Rhenna MorganClaim & Protect Series: Haven Brotherhood #3

Live hard, f*ck harder and follow only their own rules. Those are the cornerstones the six men of the Haven Brotherhood live and bleed by, refusing to conform to society's expectations, taking what they want and always watching each other's backs.
Trevor Raines lives on the edge of legal. A good guy doing bad things to save lives, the only rules he follows are the Brotherhood's, and there's nothing in the world that will change that. Until Natalie Jordan walks into his life…
Natalie’s only interest is in making a fresh start. She’s a woman with a plan, and the plan doesn’t include a man with secrets, no matter how kind—or intoxicating—he is. But this cowboy is determined to break down her walls, keep her safe and make her his.
Trevor had no interest in settling down, but there’s something entirely too appealing about the woman he can’t stay away from. There’s only one thing to do—change his plans…and hers. When Natalie's ex resurfaces to threaten her new life, Trevor will move heaven and earth to make sure the bastard can’t hurt her again. Except saving Natalie means outing his own secrets—and it could mean losing her forever…

Claim & Protect was such a wonderful story, with heartache, friendship, suspense, love, romance and loyalty.

Review - (un)Conventional Bookviews

Trevor and Natalie really worked very well for me! Claim & Protect did as well. Especially because the kinds of secrets Trevor kept, and the way he might do some bad things for all the right reasons appealed to me so much. Because Trevor was Natalie’s boss, she wanted to stay way clear of him, however, that became impossible once he realised that her ex was making trouble not only for her, but for her son as well.

Claim & Protect was filled with both suspense and a tantalising romance, and I loved both! The characters were well developed and grew throughout the story. It’s the first of the Haven Brotherhood series I’ve read, and now I’m eager to come back for more, that’s how much I loved both the main characters and the side characters – who I have a feeling might be main characters in prior books.

I have a soft spot for love stories where kids are involved – to see how a new couple navigates around one of them being a parent. Wanting it all, but putting their child’s needs before anything and everything else. I enjoyed how Trevor quickly became invested not only in Natalie, but in Levi as well as Natalie’s mom, too. That truly showed me what kind of a man he was, and there really was a lot to love.

Written in third person point of view, past tense and lots of witty dialogues, Claim & Protect was a quick read, with its fast pace and all the action.

Fave Quotes - (un)Conventional Bookviews

A second later, the door swung open and Natalie stood in front of him, cheeks pink and eyes bright. “Hi!”
Maybe it was just him, but the simple phrase came out with a Marilyn Monroe huskiness that turned the crisp October night July-sultry.

Natalie twisted, cocked one eyebrow and lowered her voice. “Laying it on a little thick, aren’t you?”
He tried to stave off a grin, but she was just too damned cute to hold it all back. “When a woman asks a man to do a job, the least he can do is aim to knock it out of the park.”

  1. Someone recommended this one to me and I can’t remember who, but ahh I obviously need to pick it up. It has romance and suspense done well, so it’s clear it will work for me! I have mixed feelings about kids in books but it sounds like they are well-written here.
    Lovely review!

  2. oh this one was a fun time for me as well, I just love this couple and their romance was so fun. You definitely should pick up books one and two, they are just as good.
