When a young woman hires her hometown’s former bad boy to be her pretend fiancé for the holidays, she finds she can’t wrap up her feelings as easily as a Christmas gift.

New York jewelry designer Graceann Palmer has two days to find a fiancé to bring home to Pennsylvania for the holidays so her matchmaking mama will quit fixing her up with jerks. The Falcon, a motorcycle-riding, leather-clad former high school crush, helped her out once before. Maybe he'll do it again.

Jake Falco, man of many mysteries, is back in town on a mission—one the people of Spirit Lake most likely won't appreciate. When Graceann presents him with her crazy scheme, it gives him something he's always wanted—a chance to get to know Graceann. It also gives him the perfect opportunity to add fuel to his project of revenge.

But as Jake and Graceann grow closer, their engagement-of-convenience begins to feel like the real deal—until Jake’s secrets are revealed.

Can a relationship that began with lies and secrets bloom like a rare Christmas rose into happily-ever-after?

A Groom for Christmas is a very sweet Christmas romance, that starts out with Graceann who needs a fake fiancé for the holidays, so that her mom will stop setting her up with all the suitable (or not so suitable) men she knows. When Jake Falco walks into the coffee shop Graceann is in with her best friend, she walks over to say hi, and see if he has something to do for Christmas and New Year. Jake is back home to see if things are as awful as he remembers from growing up, and Graceann’s proposition intrigues him – both because he always thought she was a sweetie, and because it could totally further his plans for revenge.

Very soon after arriving for the holidays at her family’s house, however, Graceann finds herself wildly attracted to Jake, and it seems as if the attraction is mutual. A Groom for Christmas has a pretty unlikely premise, but it really works, and as they get to know each other better, Graceann and Jake both reconsider several things they have thought were important before, and Jake shows her a pretty good time, both in stolen moments and in front of her family – so they buy the whole engaged story – or so he says.

Although the story only spans over nine days, A Groom for Christmas will leave you satisfied if you’re looking for a light romance, with some funny moments, and a very meddling mother as an added bonus. The writing is good, and the characters are both fun and sweet.

Graceann was hot, but more importantly, she possessed a refreshing charm he didn’t think existed in many females these days.

  1. I kinda like this trope, Lexxie. It does sound like a sweet read. And since it’s a Christmas story, we’ll just believe in Christmas miracles…in the miracle that all works out for Graceann and Jake. 😉

Lovely review, my friend. I’m glad you found this one a pleasurable read. Have a wonderful Wednesday!! And hopefully there won’t be ice on your bike seat. 🙂 *Big Hugs*

    • I like this trope, too. And it is a sweet read, well executed, and with some fun.

There was no ice on my bike seat this morning, but it was raining pretty hard, and I’m still feeling a little cold even though I’ve been back home for hours now.

Have a wonderful Wednesday, too, my dear *BIG HUGS*

    • LOL Wendy, why, yes I AM still reading Christmas novels 😀 I just got a few too many in November and December, because I love those. And so even if it’s no longer the season, I figured why not?

      Thanks for stopping by!
