Finally... Grace sees me in a different light. The banter is flirty, the sex is fun, and the future looks fabulous.I just hope she feels the same way when she finds out what I did.

Status is fast-paced, and there are a lot of things happening in the story, there is excitement, forgiveness, happiness, and new anger…

My Status review:

Grace is a very stubborn girl, but Vaughn is an ever more stubborn boy, so in Status, we are treated to a lot of back-and-forth between them, especially Grace is very reticent for a long time. At the beginning of Status, she is running away with Kirsti, as they both just need some time away from the craziness of the press, and to think things through before they continue the roller-coaster their lives has become. And I have to say I really enjoyed the friendship between Kirsti and Grace – I think they both needed to know someone strong was on their side, and would have their back just then. And getting to know Kirsti better made me completely love her! Huss did it again! I had no love for Kirsti in the beginning… then BAM! Now I love her.

Written in dual points of views with chapters from either Grace’s perspective of from Vaughn’s, the readers really get into their heads, but since even in those chapter they aren’t completely open and honest with us (or themselves) Status keeps some of the mystery alive, which made me read faster, with baited breath, as I wanted to know what was going on. And I wanted to know what truly happened in Vegas, too, during the amazing night Grace and Vaughn shared. Even if Grace only remembered the first part of the night the next day…

Vaughn is keeping more than one secret from Grace, though, which is why he became frantic when she ran away, and wouldn’t even answer her phone to let him know she was OK. He also showed how much he cared for her, and how far he was willing to go to find her again to bring her back to him, where she would be safe and happy. And they spend a wonderfully sexy and hot weekend together at his house before he brings her back to Denver. Just in time for all hell to break loose. Twice. And there’s the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers to end the story… So yeah, I was glad I had Profile on hand so I could find out what the hell was going on!

Some of my favorite Status quotes:

Her disappointment fills me up and makes me weary. I’m not the only one with problems. I sometimes forget that fact. This is how I get when I’m Daisy instead of Grace. I start thinking that I own the title of Girl with the World’s Biggest Problems.

I can’t help it either. I really can’t I’m not good at confrontation. I have been fighting with Vaughn since the moment we met. Literally, the moment we met in that bar and he was bossing me into that key lime pie martini.

She considers this for a moment. “If I come spend the night at your house, can we have those conversations all over again? so I don’t feel like I missed out on the best night of my life?”

“It’s huge. I’ve never seen a projection screen so big in a house before.” He shoots me a smirk. “Size always matters.”

  1. You’ve just succeeded in making me want to re-read this series, Lexxie! 😉 *sigh* Vaughn. I really liked this installment even if it did have the cliffiest (<– totally a word) of cliffhangers. And I *didn't* have Profile waiting for me. I'm glad you're enjoying the ride that is Grace & Vaughn.

I'm going to try to be on FB later – I'll look for you. 😉 Hope you're having a great week so far! **BIG HUGS**

    • It totally had one of the cliffiest cliffhangers ever, Brandee! And I think I wouldn’t have made it if Profile wasn’t already on my kindle when I finished this! I had some really, really wild theories as well, and I was quite happy none of them panned out 😉
Have a terrific Tuesday, my friend! *BIG HUGS*

  2. Actually, there’s a lot less of the twitter status updates inside of the story than what it seems like in the blurbs. Twitter plays an important role in the story in a slightly different way…
    Have a terrific Tuesday, Braine!
